  • Worst app ever made me sleep in my car

    They made me book a hotel which was already fully booked and didn’t find me anywhere to sleep I had to sleep in my car worst service

  • Was Left Without a place to Stay late at night

    This app put me in a dangerous situation. I booked a hotel in Montreal this month for the night after a flight cancellation. I booked the hotel around 9pm and received a confirmation email. The hotel had 24 hour check in and I arrived a little before midnight to check in, only to be told that it was a mistaken double booking. At that hour is was impossible to find any other bookings for the same night except through Agoda, so attempted to book another hotel and called to find out they were also full. I ended up spending a sleepless night in a 24 hour McDonald’s with my luggage because there were no hotel rooms available anywhere in the city. I was given a refund when I contacted customer service, but I was not given any assurances that they are working to make sure this doesn’t happen again to others, so I feel I should warn people about booking last minute using this app. What assurance does anyone have that they have a real booking if your system sends a confirmation even if the hotel is fully booked?

  • Terrible Experience and no customer service

    I had an awful experience with Agoda. I booked a hotel at 10:10, only to realize that the check-in time was listed as 10:30—a mere 20 minutes later. Given the short window, it was impossible for me to reach the hotel in time, and as a result, I was unable to check in.

    When I tried to request a refund, I encountered more frustration. The app has no customer service phone number, only an online messenger bot that was completely useless. The bot informed me that they couldn't connect with any customer service agents due to a "high volume of requests." It's infuriating to be left stranded with no support when things go wrong.

    This app has made what should have been a simple booking process into a nightmare. I strongly recommend avoiding this app and looking elsewhere for your travel needs.

  • Terrible experience!

    So I booked a hotel in dubai one month before our travel dates and paid the full price in advance. Upon reaching the hotel, we were informed that they do not have any record of our booking. We showed them all the confirmation emails and also the proof of payment but they were adamant that their system does not have any record of our booking. They were very nice to us and cooperated with us fully, noticing how distressed we were. They investigated on their own and informed us that Agoda had made our booking to a third party (mind you we were not told about this at any point in time) and that the third party was not even ready to listen to our issue let alone resolve it. Agoda’s contact number, that the hotel had, was absolutely useless. Us and the hotel staff kept trying for HOURS to reach an agent only for them to literally hang up on us. After 8-9 hours, we finally got through an agent who did not hang up on us and offered us resolution which was far from ideal but we were so tired and exhausted at that point that we took it up. Never using Agoda again. It’s a bloody scam!

  • Terrible experience

    I highly recommend everyone to stay away from this platform. I used it to book a reservation for my brother and mother. I'm not going to travel with them and they live in a different country. Right after I paid and received the confirmation, upon the first look I noticed numerous issues. First of all, my name was listed as the lead guest and there was a warning that I must be present with an ID upon check-in. There was no way to even edit that! Secondly, The card used to book the reservation must be shown at check-in as well. It also added that The property requires a security deposit of EUR 100 upon check-in. None of these had been mentioned during booking and only appeared after the submission of payment. I immediately tried to contact Agoda to elaborate the issues with them. They contacted the hotel and asked me to wait for 48 hours to hear back from them. Now they are saying the hotel never responded, therefore there is no way for a refund! I'm stuck in a situation where hundreds of dollars have been paid and I have no way to use the service or get my money back.

  • Let’s go!

    Mom is turning 91 this year and in a late night call expresses a desire for a trip like the ones we used to take when she was younger. When the hint is dropped it’s time to look at those places she likes to go and in doing so Agoda fit the bill and offered a great deal that the other travel sites couldn’t match.

  • Second time spoiled my holiday by Agoda

    First time in 2023, I booked a hot spring hotel in Japan thru Agoda, when I reached the hotel, there is no booking for us, I called Agoda customer service, they can’t do anything for us, because the hotel is fully booked, of course this famous hotel have to book few months in advance. This time August 2024, I used the Agoda app, filtered pet allowed hotel, then I booked Le Marin Boutique Hotel Rotterdam, when I reached the hotel, I holding my dog in my arm to check-in normally, but after I check-in, the reception staff tell me that the dog is not allowed to go in the room, then I call Agoda customer service, still the same, they can’t do anything about it and not responsible for the fault, I still have to paid for the hotel fees that I can not live in. Finally I have to look for another pet allowed hotel and pay by myself again. I will remove Agoda app and tell all my friends not to use Agoda again.

  • Poor communication

    I had confirmed booking to KL concord hotel that was canceled. Message says I canceled but I did not. The communication that I can get is virtual!!!

  • BEWARE!

    I’ve booked twice with Agoda and have had a terrible experience with their customer service. Our first stay didn’t have wifi, even though it was advertised to have wifi. We still need to answer emails and the wifi is crucial in that area because there is no cell reception. The property was under maintenance and didn’t have wifi in our cabin.

    The hotel issued a refund (after a lot of frustration was exhibited from our end), and provided us with a receipt. Still, Agoda did not release the funds. I called them 3 times over the course of the next several weeks. It is VERY difficult to get someone on the phone, and their response time is very slow. They also somehow didn’t have call notes from the first time I called. The next two times I called, the “booking partner” who is a third party outside of Agoda, refused to refund us each time. They would reply by email several days after the call and say that all they could offer was a $20 voucher. Which isn’t much after spending $224USD, and considering the property didn’t have something we needed.

    I’ve had to go through the bank to get the refund because Agoda keeps delaying the refund. This is shady behavior. I will avoid booking through Agoda in the future. They may have the “best deals” on accommodations, but it comes at a price, and if something is wrong with the accommodation, expect your time to be spent chasing their morally bankrupt customer service until you also have to submit a claim through your bank.
