  • Agoda cancelled our hotel booking

    Agoda cancelled our hotel booking a few hours before the scheduled stay. What an unreliable & useless app!!

    I’ve been using the app for the last 3-4 years, and it’s been incredibly reliable, the discount gets better the more you use it, it’s just amazing, recommend the app to anyone

  • Not booked properly and cannot contact easily

    Its my first time using agoda cause they showed lower price for a room that I wanted. I booked 1 week ahead but upon check in the reception told me that agoda gave a different room from what I booked for and in my confirmation email. The reception cannot transfer us to the said room cause they are fully booked. I tried contacting agoda customer service but no avail. So awarning using this app/ company. So deceiving. Ruining our plans

  • Good deals

    Have always compared prices to other booking sites. Agoda gives the best deals. I like their reward system. Wish there was a points benefits as well. Would encourage people to keep booking with you guys.

  • Amazing app ruined by one thing

    I actually booked most of my travels on this app and I am travelling for 3-6 months.

    However I have started using a different app, I won’t mention their name but you probably know who their competitors are.

    Why? Because there is a limit on Agoda to how many properties you can add to your favourites list. And I am travelling for 3-6 months so each new city I go to maybe I will add 5-10 to act as a bit of a short list. Then the next city and so on

    And this costs Agoda zero in data storage IMO favourite a hotel. Yet there is a limit and now I can no longer add any new hotels to my favourites with no clear explanation or wish to start removing others off of it.

    What a none sense problem this is, easily fixable too. Makes no sense why they would have a limit. It only makes it harder to book a hotel!!

  • Agoda does nothing if host cancels! Beware!

    To all of you who who don’t mind taking a chance by going with Agoda and end up with having your accommodation cancelled by the host (and the app showing you canceled the reservation) this review is not for you. If you do care about your reservation being canceled and Agoda doesn’t help you as per their guarantee you may want to book elsewhere. The host asked me to cancel the booking and rebook on air b&b via the messenger in Agoda. I didn’t want to do this as air b&b was more expensive. The host must’ve cancelled via Agoda but instead of any massages saying the host canceled it said I canceled when I did not. Agoda did not help me to find a new accommodation as per their terms and conditions. What’s worse is I did not get a notification that my reservation was cancelled. Imagine I hadn’t checked until closer to to trip? I’d likely have no place to stay. If this is a risk you’re willing gamble on go for it, but don’t complain if your host cancels and you’re left having to find new more expensive accommodations. I’m considering legal action.

  • Don’t bother booking with Agoda until they resolve a critical system issue

    On my most recent booking using Agoda, I found they obscure URL or phone numbers from the hotel or provider. This hotel has an online check in and in the message to me, Agoda obscures the link because they claim it’s to protect me. What that meant is they would only send me a pin after I completed my online check in to get the room key. Because Agoda blocked the link, I had to call Agoda Customer Support to get assistance. However, their support staff are based overseas and have trouble understanding English. The staff kept tells me to reset my account that really frustrated me. They read from a script and even when I requested for a supervisor, that staff kept telling me there’s nothing they could do. Thankfully the hotel messaged me the door pin without having to register so we managed to get into our room. We were lucky this wasn’t overseas but it was still a terrible experience using Agoda.

  • Rubbish Company (No terms of customer protect)

    If the booking charges directly goes to Hotel, Agoda only works a middleman and no right to do refund and only can apply the refund from Hotel. Of course the Hotel can deny the refund with the so-called refund policy. I suffered from the unreasonable cancellation of booking BY HOTEL (said cannot deduct from bank/other version said my credit has fraud). How come book a few days hotel costing around £100 trigger a fraud. This ridiculous message is delivered by Agoda customer service ON BEHALF OF THE HOTEL. I don’t think this is a sole case, but a risk for messy if booking charge directly goes to the Hotel. Ruin my mood for holiday and waste my time to deal with many round with Agoda and 2 round with Bank. Agoda - Waste time waste money!!!

  • Double charge and no refund!

    This is the worst hotel booking service I’ve ever used!
    First of all, the app doesn’t allow you to book two different rooms in one booking. If you book one room first and try to book another room, they don’t allow you to make two bookings under the same name. So crappy!
    But, whats worse is that when we arrived at the hotel, the hotel claimed they couldn’t received the fund from Agoda that had already been charged due to banking issue and required us to pay and told us the original charge would be returned.
    Wrong! After a month or so, we checked our credit card statement and found no trace of the promised refund and started contacting Agoda.
    Their customer service is really worst of all, trying to delay the the progress with all sorts of tricks. After weeks of communication, they finally acknowledged the double charges and started the refund process.
    But, the refund is in the currency of the country where the hotel is and I need to have a national ID card and a local bank account to receive the refund. After another month, they finally agreed to refund in the currency of my country and to a bank account of my country.
    I finally received refund for one of the bookings.
    However, I’m now asking them to refund the other booking, which they have acknowledged and tried to refund in the currency of the country where the hotel is, but they have not responded to my email at all for more than a week.
    This is a service with so many problems and traps!
