Fine until you try to make them honor price match

I have used agoda for a good few years for my hotel bookings. This time I noticed a price had dropped on the agoda platform after I booked, so why not make use of their advertised price match guarantee? I found the process comparable to how I imagine it is making an insurance claim with an insurer that does not want to pay. I was directed to a non existent claim form. My claim was denied on every imaginable excuse, even though I sent a screenshot from the agoda app. Back and forth emails until I realized my time was worth more than the time being wasted trying to claim, I guess thats the point. So please keep the few extra dollars of commission agoda, but you lost a customer.

Playing with prices to make you believe you have good deals

The application is well designed, works well and is useful. But the more you use it the more they will play with the price. When they say that you have better prices on the application, that is totally false. You should make the test.
When they say that you have a 8% discount, they just increase the price of 8% and then give you a discount of 8% !!!

I think it was one of the best traveling application but they changed in the past year.
You can see a lot of bad reviews lately.

Very worst servcie

There is no proper connection between the host and this platform . I booked a place for a price and the host was not ready to let me in for the it mentioned in agoda and he asked me to pay more and cancel the booking and its non refundable if i cancel it . I called the agoda customer care many times they are just extending the dates but no proper solution . I guess they will wait till the date i booked and say no show and take the money i paid . Total scam . Never should rely on this platform for booking . Because we will be in different country for holiday without knowing anyone and this happens it will be risky for us and also money . Time and energy waste .Pathetic service.

Terrible Customer Service

Good app for booking trips and activities. Customer service is extremely flawed and nonexistent. Terrible experience. They promote efficient service via their Chatbot, which is useless. You might as well just read the FAQ section. Please Agoda, your chatbot system might be helpful to people too lazy to read, but there are too many edge cases that it fails to handle. Upon emergency or urgent support, chatbot replies with dead-end answers and forces customers back to main menu.

Fascinating Experience!

We love the app like everyone else.

1. It feels like an adventure every time you use it—not in a good way. Many features require redirects instead of being native, making you feel like you’re on a mystery ride, unsure of what’s coming next. And the constant crashes? A delightful surprise.
2. The employee satisfaction at this company must be sky-high because it feels like the product managers and developers never show up to work. Or do they know how to do their work? Check the Glassdoor.
3. The UX design? My dad would love it—yes, it’s that retro. It fits perfectly with the Y2K nostalgia trend.
4. Don’t bother with the customer service—they won’t respond. Instead, you’ll be met with an AI chatbot repeatedly telling you, “I’m unable to answer your question,” which is a polite way of saying, “we don’t care.” Have a real issue? Just delete the app and forget about it.

Deduct more money than booking fee

I used Agoda to book hotels when travelling in Japan, and figured out that my credit card was deducted for an extra money, apart from the original hotel fee. After arguing with the customer service, they didn’t admit to overcharging at first, when showing more evidence, they said there is a currency conversion fee 5%, so disgusting. Never use it again.

I got SCAMMED.

I’m not usually one to write a review, but after being scammed by this company, I’m going to share my experience here. I booked a flight 4 years ago now, which was cancelled due to COVID-19. I was offered a voucher, yet, no voucher was ever sent. I called, and they told me to contact the Airline. When I contacted the Airline, they told me to contact Agoda. I was finally promised a voucher from Agoda, and when they sent it to me via email, the details were EMPTY. Below is the exact word for word of what I received from this company. The details on how much my voucher is worth and the reference code are both empty.

“Kindly check the details below regarding your Travel credit voucher:
Please note that the ticket in credit should be eligible for credit or voucher, for voucher please contact the airline directly for options and conditions, for credit options please refer to the BA book with confidence policy on the covid 19 tab on our smart fares page from there you can click on the latest version, there is a lot of information, more than we can advise you here so suggest you read the policy to see what best suits your passenger

I used to use Agoda frequently, but after this experience, I will never use them again, nor do I recommend anyone ever use this service. Especially on expensive purchases/bookings.

Worst app ever made me sleep in my car

They made me book a hotel which was already fully booked and didn’t find me anywhere to sleep I had to sleep in my car worst service

Was Left Without a place to Stay late at night

This app put me in a dangerous situation. I booked a hotel in Montreal this month for the night after a flight cancellation. I booked the hotel around 9pm and received a confirmation email. The hotel had 24 hour check in and I arrived a little before midnight to check in, only to be told that it was a mistaken double booking. At that hour is was impossible to find any other bookings for the same night except through Agoda, so attempted to book another hotel and called to find out they were also full. I ended up spending a sleepless night in a 24 hour McDonald’s with my luggage because there were no hotel rooms available anywhere in the city. I was given a refund when I contacted customer service, but I was not given any assurances that they are working to make sure this doesn’t happen again to others, so I feel I should warn people about booking last minute using this app. What assurance does anyone have that they have a real booking if your system sends a confirmation even if the hotel is fully booked?
