  • Worst app design.

I’m a regular user of agoda but the recent experience I had was really bad and frustrating. The slide to book option is the worst design on the app. I was looking for some hotel deals and it had the option to slide to book. My daughter by missed when taking the phone from me pushed the slide to book button and it booked the stay. It didn’t ask for any cvv or the guest details. I called Agoda and they said they can’t do anything as the stay is booked. I said it was by mistake and they said they can’t help.

  • Cashback rewards

I am trying to receive my cashback rewards, of which I have in excess of $300NZD. The process is painful and I’m starting to think it’s a scam. Every time I request there is an error. Then to get in contact with customer support is a nightmare. I am then told it’s a bank issue, then told I need a visa. I use Wise which is a legitimate banking service, further the Wise cards are Visa cards. I am happy to change this feedback if the issue is resolved, but at this stage it seems as though Agoda entice you with cashback rewards, then proceed to make it impossible to receive them which in my eyes if fraudulent

  • The Carlton Hotel Singapore

Booked the Carlton hotel in Singapore a couple days ago, it was a special promotion price with breakfast included and free cancellation.

Put credit card details in to pay, saw the price had magically increased, thought oh well I can live with the $29 increase, went ahead and booked - it then showed once it was booked that it was non refundable, higher price and NO breakfast included!! Could you please take cancel this booking with no fees and allow me to book at the price and terms and conditions it was supposed to be done please

I look forward to hearing from you

  • Awesome app

Overall great app. But they show the oldest reviews first. Hotels get older. Clever trick but we want to see the most recent reviews first. Also management changes. Please change this thankyou.
  • Nightmare hotel booking

The front desk of the hotel during check-in told me I had to cancel my current reservation and rebook right there at the front desk and they would match the current price because agoda had use some type of virtual credit card to pay the hotel for my online booking but those bounced or didn’t work and so they never actually got paid by agoda and therefore they would not honor that booking. Then I had to get on the phone with agoda and demand a refund and they insisted on trying to pay me back with a check. What check? Who uses checks? What is it the 1990s? I had to ask over and over and over till finally they agreed they would issue me a credit back on my credit card. all in all it took me over 45 minutes to check into my hotel. I will never use agoda again for any service. I am removing my account and deleting the app.

  • A big NOPE for me

    1. Navigating through the App both on phones and on Web app is not easy, not user friendly.

    2. Error message at checkout was so unhelpful my card is not now locked!!!
I wanted to book two rooms of the same type, at the same hotel, during almost the same period.
I was able to add 2 rooms in my cart.
At checkout I kept getting this error message saying one of the items didn’t go through.
I checked my cart again to see the availability of the two rooms, and they seemed fine.

After a few attempts, turned out they had only one available room left but somehow I was able to add 2 to my cart.

I figured that out only after I decided to make 2 sequentially different purchases/bookings instead.

And now my card is locked and I have to wait for my $1400+ to bounce back…

Users shouldn’t be able to add more of unavailable rooms, and payment shouldn’t be processed before double checking the rooms’ availability. The status of those checkouts should be Failed, not Cancelled. And error message needs to be more helpful.

Took about a week for all my money to bounce back into my account.

  • Cheat consumers

I booked a hotel on the platform and wrote my actual review after checking out because of the extremely poor hygiene conditions, but strangely my review could not be found, and when I asked customer service I was told it had been taken down because my review had violated some "service regulations", and when I asked further what had been violated I was told “we cannot tell you”.

I was shocked to find out that agoda deleted the bad reviews and left the good ones, isn't that cheating the consumer? What's the point of the website's rating of the hotel then? How can I trust them?

In addition, agoda has no examine the hotel is good or bad, because the hotel I booked shows 4 stars, but the actual is a B&B converted into a shared room, hygiene conditions are very poor, I have taken photos to provide evidence, but agoda not only did not take down this hotel, but delete my review, and said that these information are directly uploaded by the hotel, that is to say, the platform has not examined these, so that consumers I am really angry and confused!

I found this hotel on other platforms with a very low rating and had the same reviews as I did, but on agoda it showed clear positive reviews

  • Serial conmen. Avoid at all costs

Booked a hotel for a holiday, they duplicated my booking and sent me a cancellation. I then went to find a different hotel as I had received a cancellation (on the day that I booked) that said “unusual technical error” and my booking could not be complete.

After spending a few hundred more pounds on the next booking I then get charged £400 for the booking I was told was cancelled the day before the booking!!!

When I called and asked what was going on I was sent back and forth and back and forth until eventually the exceptionally rude “customer care” team told me it was MY fault for not noticing that the cancellation wasn’t for my booking and it was my responsibility to negotiate with the hotel to get my money back!!

So now I’m stuck, with 2 hotel bookings, paying double, and being passed around between agoda’s utterly useless staff like a hot potato.

I will be coming for ALL my money back, your service was an utter disgrace and has cost me DOUBLE due to your useless app and obnoxious customer support team.

Do not go with agoda, use something more reliable. These people are conmen at the lowest, filthiest tier

  • Scam!!! DO NOT BOOK!

i booked a 5 stars hotel from agoda and got an email that stated there was an error and that the booking was not completed and i was not charged. I was in fact charged. They provided me with 2 confirmations numbers, both of which hotel stated they do not have reservations. I even got a confirmation from the hotel stating that they do not do business with Agoda. When you email customer service, different people respond every-time you reply. When called, they keep saying they did not charged but my bank statements says otherwise. They also say they need to check with the “supplier” when asking why it has taken so long to get the issue resolved. 3 months later still trying to dispute it. DO NOT USE! Apple should remove this scam of a company off their app

  • Agoda review—hotels

Have been very happy using Agoda, mostly for travel outside the USA. I only use Agoda for booking hotels so can’t speak to other services (flights, trains, etc.) offered. I also do my research and check other apps before booking, but in general I prefer Agoda over other apps because of the way the search & filters are set up, because I usually find the cheapest prices on Agoda, and because so many options/filters are customizable.
Many times what appears to be the exact same room is shown at multiple price points, often because there are little options like courtyard view, full breakfast buffet, tub and shower, etc. which are not distinguished on Agoda but are known to the hotel. After booking it’s good to contact the hotel and inquire about those things, along with airport pickup and whatever else you may need.
I have never had issues with Agoda, even when canceling my reservation. However, I have had occasional issues with other apps. That’s why I usually check Agoda first, check other places, and then come back to Agoda to book.
