  • Works when it feels like it

This is the glitchiest, most frustrating app I could imagine. It’s a confusing hot mess from log in to perusing sales/coupons to placing an order or making a list. Nothing works smoothly! This app works when it feels like it, which isn’t very often.

I have loaded and clipped coupons numerous times and they don’t register when I’m in self check. The employees tell me this happens all the time and they have to manually input the sales price.

Another disaster is the tedious process of clipping a “something extra” member coupon in the app. You won’t get the lower price by inputting your ID, you have to clip this coupon digitally. It’s very challenging finding the coupons as there are many coupons and the search bar is quirky. So just imagine the fun of waiting for the app to load, log in, and search for this blasted coupon that you can see right in front of you at the store. No it’s not enough to log in with my ID at checkout, I have to clip this darn thing in this app from
Hades. PS the coupons are rarely worth the frustration!

I hate the interface, functionality, and frustrating process of using this app. My birthday gift to myself may be to unplug from my “something extra”’membership and end up not saving $15-20 a year for all this chaos.

  • Worker Experience

The 4 and a half star reviews have to be bots or something. Theres no way. I have non stop people complaining about how terrible this app is every single day. The company spent lots of money designing the new version of the app just for it to not load half the things half the time. It’s needed to clip the weekly digital coupons. But in 2024 they can’t design an auto clip coupons function for their company that has a large percentage of elderly shoppers. So then it backs up the lines and people get angry and leaves. This is every day. And the company just makes more greedy decisions to make it harder for workers and more annoying for customers. Ik this went from app to store review but the app has effects on your experience at the business. And with how outrageous the prices are, unless you have a coupon or you have a level of wealth in this economy, you might as well go to Walmart.

  • Terrible Ap!

It stalls, it takes far too, long it is difficult to get the correct number of items it locks up. It's so terribly frustrating to use. It can take nearly an hour or more of frustration with this faulty AP to get an order placed. A customer can't even enter instructions because the programmer has it so limited as to what characters can be used. This truly is the worst AP ever! Crazy that they hyped up a big upgrade and then it doesn't work and it doesn't work since last year! Months have gone by and it's still no good. Someone decided to fix the old ap, which worked nicely, and it has not been good since. Try calling and giving feedback sometimes a person answers but mostly not and they don't do anything. It's possibly an Ipad difference - but it worked before and if they are making it available to IOS they should make it work for all. Most times now I give up and go to Pacific market down the street. Loyalty goes both ways and they are quite aware this is an issue but still it's not fixed. I can't imagine how they are staying in business.

  • Worst App in the History of Apps

If it’s their intention to drive existing customers to shop elsewhere, then they have hit the mark with this dumpster fire of an app. The UI is chaotic and confusing, and it’s really hard to navigate and find what you’re looking for and to “clip” the deals you want. You have to use the app to get the deals, and you have to use their crappy unsecured WiFi in store to use the app. The in-store WiFi and the app both constantly boot you off, so you have to sign in to both the WiFi and the app every 5 minutes while you’re in the store. Everyone else is struggling with this crappy app too, so people are standing around blocking the aisles trying to get the app to work. THEN, when you get to the checkout, it doesn’t give you credit for deals that you clipped and you end up spending more than you planned. All while enjoying the crappy attitudes of the managers and checkout clerks. I hate this app with a burning passion, I am growing to hate Raley’s, and I am accordingly doing more and more of my shopping elsewhere. I STRONGLY recommend that if you decide to use this garbage, don’t put any payment information in and give them as little information as possible to sell to third parties, which is what they designed this garbage for.

  • Why fix some things and break others?

    1. Drives me crazy when I’ve signed in and opened the app dozens of times, but app is updated and my personal sign-in is blown away when I’m away from home and expect quick access. Have to re-enter everything including store selection and preferences. 2. After a search displays several items and I choose one to see details, if I press the back button, or the x, the page goes back to the top of the list, so I have to scroll down through lots of items I already saw and bypassed. 3. Several other frustrations. Hate the new version for fall 2023. Don’t understand why it was radically changed after so many positive reviews from past years..

Update: #2 still not fixed. Come on, Raley’s!

  • App and coupons don’t work

I have never given a review for an app before, but this is the worst app update that I have ever seen. Before, this app worked. I could use coupons and order groceries online, and even sent a message one time a few years ago to Raleys when there was an issue with something I bought, they got the message and replied.

After the app update, it takes forever to load. It is difficult to use the special offers and coupons, and they are not applied consistently when checking out even when they say they are clipped. The people who work in the store cannot help me with this, and they told me to contact the helpdesk, but when I used the app to try to contact the helpdesk, it did not work either, which I guess is not a surprise.

I feel like if you are a grocery store, either have an app that works or don’t have one at all. It would be better to delete this app completely than to keep trying to use it. This does mean I will shop at other stores, where they have apps that do work or where I don’t have to use an app to get sale prices and use store coupons.

  • Horrible doesn’t begin to describe it

It used to be great- easy and quick to order online for store pickup. They changed the app and the website a few months ago and both are now terrible. The old data such as previous purchases and substitution preferences never transferred over. I thought once I had ordered things again in the new system, things would get better but that hasn’t been the case. The system seems to remember just some of my recent purchases and sometimes the whole list won’t load on the app. What is really time consuming is having to put in your substitution preferences for each item every time you order. It took me about an hour today to complete a large order of mostly previously purchased items- 6 months ago, it would have taken about 10 minutes. I’m trying to be objective and think of one improvement the new system made but I can’t really think of anything. I’m giving them about a month more to get it straightened out but I’m not very optimistic that it will happen.

  • Still bad

This is a “new” revamped app from their old version. It’s awful. The lists have finally stopped crashing but they still don’t work. You go through and check all these items from your list (which took forever to make) then there’s no way to get them in the cart. When you click on the elipses to “copy” or “move” to cart another menu comes up wanting you to check which items to add to cart! All of the items EXCEPT the ones you just checked. What’s the point! Plus, you have no idea what the item is to re-check because it doesn’t expand. Back in the shopping area Searching is a nightmare. Takes forever. And add an item to a list (which don’t work remember) you can’t add the item to your cart. You have to back out of the “add to list” and re a watch for the item then add. Absolutely awful app. Get a clue Raleys!!

  • Update has made the app unusable!

This app used to be amazing! I went out of my way to tell people how much I liked shopping at Nob Hill because the app made it so great. This is coming from someone who generally avoids all retail apps and loathes making simple tasks more complicated by using technology.

Unfortunately, all of that is in the past. The new app is simply unusable. They’ve made it more complicated to add items to your shopping list by forcing you to choose shopping or favorites every time you try to add something. Have a heart or star to add things to a favorites list, shopping list should be the default. Not that it matters anyway, because every time I try to look at my shopping list, the app crashes. It used to be so easy to shop sales, clip coupons, sort my shopping list by aisle and be on my way. Now, I am stuck pulling my cart to the side trying to have my shopping list load long enough to take screenshots so I actually get what I need. Nob Hill is close by and super convenient, but it’s not my only option. The old app is what made it my top choice. Now, I’ll avoid unless it’s a great sale or I’m missing an ingredient while I’m cooking. I hope Raley’s gets their money back from whoever redesigned this app.
