  • Not user friendly

Challenging to install on my laptop and now I have it on my iPad it wouldn’t let me create an account, error message of password should contain letters which it obviously did. Get rid.
  • Problem with new iPhone 12 Pro Max

All my records disappeared but after some fiddling I went to Select Groups to save attachments for offline access. I don’t need the attachments— just the records— but turned it on and my library appeared.
  • Unreliable

Completely fails to replicate a full set of references. Every interaction I have with the app makes me nervous that it will trash my library.
  • Bad Apple Pencil integration

The main point of using endnote on an iPad as opposed to laptop is annotating pdfs. But there is no eraser. And the Apple Pencil options are pretty bad (compared to other apps like notability) so its very difficult to get used to
  • Inconvenient

The iPad version is so much frustrating
  • Please update

I love my desktop version of Endnote, but the iOS version freezes and crashes a lot. It could also use more integration with Microsoft Word as well.

Do this, and I’m a 5.5 star reviewer!
  • Difficult to save pdfs

Difficult to export ris citation, and then also export pdf file to the same reference in Endnote.
  • Missing key features from desktop

Please update this app - there needs to be group sets, not just the groups. This is a critical feature.
  • Very Powerful App - Could Embrace the Platform More

It is very nice being able to import RIS and PDFs right from Safari, and the markup abilities are super convenient for those who like to write on papers, but don’t want to print. It would be even better if the app adopted the iOS gesture support (think back, copy, paste, etc) and added the ability to use keyboard shortcuts since the iPad is often paired with a keyboard now. Gold Standard would be a highlighter in addition to the pen

  • More dysfunctional Endnote

The only library you can open is the one you sync with Endnote online. This reflects a broader problem with Endnote - that you can only sync one library. Endnote is marketed on its utility for collaboration, but it’s basically impossible to collaborate effectively. Especially when syncing a large library can corrupt the entire library, which has happened to me. And when the only way to share parts of a library is by sharing groups, but group sets don’t sync online or with the iPad version. What a mess. Do the developers not realize that we deal with thousands of references? The desktop app can barely handle my main library, so i can’t just go creating more groups to share with people. I need to be able to sync multiple libraries.

So only being able to open the synced library means you cannot open an endnote file that you may have saved someone. What a pointless app. I can’t use the many, many libraries I have set up with various teams.

Nor can you cite while you write with the iPad app. So what’s the point?

Basically a shell of an app. It lets you see your one library that you have synced. But you could do that by logging in online.
