  • Service request ignored

I made 4 service request over 18 months ago regarding several street lights that have been out. These lights had already been inoperable for several months before I made the request. The service request are still labeled open and no one has come to fix any of the lights on Los Angeles St. In Downtown LA. I spoke with some city workers in person about 8 months ago that were fixing some lights around the corner whom said that wasn't their jurisdiction but that they would make sure the appropriate team got the message. They said that people steal the copper wires from the lights andtheys why they don't work even after they are fixed supposedly it happened again. I could make a list of possible resolutions to this but whats the point if the request are to be ignored?!

  • Incorrect Phone Numbers • Remove Need To Call

I see two traffic signals that are completely dark. When I go to report them in the app, it leads you to a separate page that list all the situations where you will need to call the emergency center. When you hit the button to call, the greeting says that it's only for parking enforcement or needing to request parking enforcement. So the phone number is incorrect, or the greeting is incorrect. You all need to remove the need to make phone calls. We're driving there's gotta be an easier way.

  • Strong Step in the Right Direction

MyLA311 is a strong step in the right direction towards creating a more responsive city. It’s a terrific and user friendly App to report problems and issues to the City of Los Angeles. I recently reported an issue. A service request # was generated and used to track the progress of the reported issue. Furthermore, email updates are sent as well. Most importantly, my issue was resolved within 48 hours.

  • Got my alley light fixed!

Sure, my alley streetlamp didn’t show up on the map, but I was able to upload photos of it and the comments field helped me ensure that my request was described correctly. I submitted the request Friday night and my street lamp was fixed by Wednesday night! This was during Christmas weekend too, all in all I’m satisfied and will use this app again. Btw my street lamp was out for months before my friend advised me to use this app. Wish more people knew about this app, maybe then we would see more of our tax dollars at work.

  • Requires specifics that don’t exactly apply

The app requires specifics that are a little vague. Instead of saying street lights out on so-and-so Street between two intersections you have to give an exact address which doesn’t necessarily apply. Can basically get it to work. You just hope they understand. Not everything occurs at an exact address. App could be better in this regard.

  • Good potential/bad execution

Nice that this app exists, but the map function on iOS is impossible to use. The pin drop location setting does not work making using it frustrating, hard to use and easy to abandon.

My other complaint is that little action from the city happens. You report something and it doesn’t get resolved. I get that doing civil society is hard but this is a bare minimum approach with no action. I really wish it triggered swifter action.

  • Add delete button

I’m an advent 311 user with over 300 reports made I’m pretty savvy around the app I want to suggest a delete button to delete a 311 request sometimes items disappear over night from the curb and it would be helpful to delete the service request, it would save allot of unnecessary expense and time needed on other calls . Thanks, The Bulky Item Fairy 🧚‍♂️

  • Can’t see payment history

I am unable to see my payment history. It keeps telling me that too many sessions and to try again in 5 mins. In the past I was able to look up all this info easily and hassle free. It’s been about 2 months of this so I’m wondering when and if they’ll fix this problem.
  • They are fast

I have reported 3 illegal dumpings of bulky items and each request for removal was completed within a week. It’s not the most attractive interface, but it’s effective and better than tracking down city department numbers!
  • Thank you city of Los Angeles

This app is beyond helpful in so many ways and makes living here easier and cleaner. Appreciate it, yes some map functions could be better but overall very well done!
