  • Doesn’t work!

I attempted to use the app to submit a request for trash bucket replacement. After spending 10 minutes filling out forms, it appeared that the submission did not go through. I attempted to re-submit, but the app would not allow it. I got a confirmation via email that I had registered the app, but as I had suspected, I did not get an email acknowledging my request for bucket replacement.

  • Needs housekeeping

I created a 311 account four years ago to help with issues in a former neighborhood. When downloading the app again today after a four year lull, I was informed that my former account had been deleted due to lack of activity in the last year. When registering a new account with my personal email address (unchanged in ten years), I was told it was already associated with an active account.

So essentially I am blocked out from using the app, unless I want to create a new email account just for its use. (Stupid) Seems like a really basic housekeeping issue and am disappointed as the app was super effective when used previously.

  • Great way to make a difference

Stop complaining that the city and it’s bureaucrats and politicians don’t do anything! You can use this app to report all kinds of public nuisances, and be completely amazed when things get fixed in less than a week. I have great success reporting potholes, tags, and badly parked scooters. Scooters will be picked up in hours, tags and potholes within a week.
Now, if we could only dial in an option for parking enforcement. With the camera and geolocation built in, all the information parking enforcement needs is right there in the app, but for some reason, we still have to call in, and wait for an operator, to report someone blocking a driveway.

  • Can I report the app to be fixed?

This app is just okay. If the city would go out and let someone professionally work on it, this app could be amazing and incredibly helpful to cleaning up and fixing issues in this city. I have gotten a handful of things taken care of over the last year that I’ve reported but the map is a mess and sometimes it’s just a nightmare to pinpoint the location that need aid. The best results I’ve had with this app are for trash pickup. And there are plenty of requests to be made with the massive heaps of trash all over this city because apparently the city of Los Angeles is one giant dumpster to its inhabitants.

  • Easy to navigate, but weirdly specific

The app itself is fairly user-friendly. But when it makes you choose an item from the Details section, it’s a small list of very specific items (Headboard, basketball setup, etc). For example, If your neighbor leaves old tires on the street (a fairly common item to see in Los Angeles), there’s no option to choose “tire” or rubber or wheels or anything of the sort.

  • City scam

This is a blatant attempt at appearing to do something while doing nothing. You file a ticket and everything looks professional, then it’s closed saying “our records indicate it’s complete” while actually nothing is done, though I uploaded photos proving that by date.

One more reason to confirm that this city government is just a bunch of leeches sucking on our tax money, incapable in the richest tax base in the country to do anything resembling honest work.

Next time I will vote for a baboon and not for anyone remotely tied to those working there right now.

  • Do Not Update! Latest version Fail

The latest incarnation of this well intended app insists our home, our entire street, even the cross street (all of which have existed since 1902), do not in fact exist. We existed prior to the last update of the app— but, no more. It’s sort of funny because that’s pretty much how we’ve felt since Mayor Garcetti was elected, nonexistent, so 5stars for consistency with that message, 1star for the real and practical tech misfire in this version of the app.

Hi, It looks like the MyLA311 app was not able to meet your expectations regarding your address. Addresses can certainly be found in the MyLA311 app, but can you please email 311@lacity.org with the address in question so that the team can investigate your issue?
  • Street Resurfaced

Our block needed to be resurfaced for years. Things were so bad that any car that passed at regular speed limit would get some serious damage. Then I came across this app and decided to try it. 3 weeks later our street was fixed. I would definitely recommend it.
  • Great app, when it works

I have reported many issues through this app and it has been great. However, the last couple of weeks they updated it and now when I try to add the location of the graffiti or dumped item, the map says “loading” and spins. Without adding the location of an item, you cannot submit a claim. Until this is fixed, it is useless.

We've made a lot of fixes to the maps and location finder. Please install the latest version and give it a try! Feel free to contact 311@lacity.org for support and assistance.
  • Great way to communicate with LA services

I have used this app to report numerous graffiti removal requests to great success. Sometimes I am informed “it’s not their department,“ but then directed to the correct personal. It’s not perfect, but I really appreciate this app and the service of the people who receive my messages.

    Thank you.
