  • First time I used it so far so good!

The only thing though is when I’m doing a timed exercise, before I do it, give me more time to be in position before you start the timer and show a seconds timer for that as well. And some of your exercise videos that are shown are freezed up that I had to press the camera button to see the videos in motion. Please do something to fix this!!! OH and please have a daily weight and calorie tracker in the way that each workout tracks my calories based on my weight I put daily. Another thing, when I put whether I could do less or more reps after each interval, I would like to readjust them after my workout just in case I thought I miscalculated myself the first time I adjust it. And you have some bugs. Please squish them. Thanks!!!

Update - Can you also make it a way where you can eliminate or change an exercise to another one in a workout anytime in the coach program? I really appreciate it.

  • Not sure who this app is targeted at

I got this app to do home workouts as my gym is back to mask mandatory. I purchased a 3 month subscription. I am used to taking group classes with an instructor or with a trainer. This app does not come close to that setting. There is no voice coach to provide tips or instructions. The written instructions are vague and the videos are minimalist at best. No investment by the developers to provide a “training environment”. The primary goal is to beat your personal best time. After each exercise you are prompted to “tell your followers how you did”. I find that really annoying. The voice that counts your start up sounds computer generated. The developers couldn’t find a real person to count to 5? And there are plenty of prompts to purchase equipment. Someone is making a lot of money with minimal investment in this app. I am going to look for another.

  • Easy to use

I was sceptical about paying for a HIIT app. But wanted something that was Covid lockdown proof, fit into my work travels and didn’t require me to spend hours a day training. The app is so easy to use. I combine it with the Freeletics Nutrition app and am feeling amazing. I am training 4 days a week and my body is responding well. The workouts are the right level of challenge without killing me (though I’m sure I could set it to kill mode).

  • Great app!

    I love the app.
I’m a beginner at living a life of exercise. I’m happy that this app is able to take this into account through the post-workout feedback we can give for future workouts. I got this app during the pandemic (May) last year but was really only consistent at the beginning of this year(Jan 2021) and I’m happy with my progress. I didn’t give 5 star because- when a workout includes a run, you can opt not to run. But it doesn’t work the other way around- i.e you can’t skip the body weight training and opt to run instead, which would be ideal for days or weeks where I just want running only.

  • Watch for the charge

I bought my subscription through the App Store (I have proof of that) and cancel 2 years later 5 days before renewal time again through the App store. They still managed to charge me (6 days after renewal time?) and now won’t reimburse me!! They are being sneaky, maybe just don’t subscribe to make sure you don’t loose money in the end.

    EDIT:
I had called Apple Store and they said they couldn’t do anything since they were not the one who charged me. Freeletic directly charged on my credit card, not through the Apple store. I did contact directly Freeletic afterwards who told me they couldn’t reimburse me for ??? No reasons. I was within their 7 days for cancellation but they refused to cancel and reimburse me. I then tried to file a complaint at the European Consumer protection but they couldn’t do anything since I do not live in Europe (it seems that Freeletic is based in Germany). Anyway, I called my credit card company (Capitol One) to say I had an unauthorized charge and they reimbursed me. A lot of hassle, not worth their exercises.

Hello, our subscriptions are indeed automatically renewed. If the subscription was canceled before the renewal date, you should not have been changed! Also all purchases made within the Apple App Store, Apple acts as the distributor and insists upon managing such subscriptions themselves. Your next best course of action is to contact Apple App Store customer support. If you believe there has been a mistake, I invite you to contact us directly via the support center of our website so we can further look into your account!
  • Life (and body) changing

I started with Freeletics a year ago after looking for something convenient where I could work out at home but which would give me a structured plan. That's exactly what the coach in freeletics does, with a range of journeys allowing you to choose what you want to focus on. Crucially, the coach adapts to your fitness and skill levels so you can follow the same journey multiple times and it changes and progresses with you. The workouts are well balanced and challenging but very enjoyable and you can easily measure and see your progress. There are also now loads of other workouts you can choose yourself, including dumbbell and kettlebell ones. The amount of content has exploded in the last few months!

The big thing with Freeletics is it's not just an app. There is a strong community behind it which is welcoming, supportive, non-judgemental and in no way elitist. It's great for keeping you motivated and answering any questions you've got.

Since finding Freeletics and improving my diet at the same time I have lost (to date) around 16kg and 8% body fat, dropped 2 dress sizes and gained strength, definition, fitness and confidence. I even love burpees now! I was looking for a fitness app and I found a way of life. I wouldn't be without it now.

  • Horrible customer service and predatory automatic renewals

Horrible customer service and predatory automatic renewals.

They are a multi million dollar company willing to take money unapologetically and without warning from their customers (in the middle of a pandemic no less) based on a technicality which I immediately tried to rectify.

I bought a year’s subscription because gyms were closed during 2020. I stopped using the app when gyms reopened here in Australia.

A few days ago my annual subscription auto renewed. I got an email after the fact, but no reminder leading up to it.

I emailed customer support within an hour asking if they would refund it because I didn’t realise it would auto renew and I hadn’t used it for a while and wasn’t going to use it going forward. They said no. I asked again politely and still no.

I understand this would have been in the t’s and c’s and the onus is on me to cancel in advance.

However, I still think this is a horrible way to treat customers and speaks volumes about who they are as a company. There was no friendly reminder email that an auto renewal was coming up soon and that I would need to take action to cancel if I wanted. That’s an easy automated email from their CRM and is the right thing to do.

They’ve lost a customer for life and I will recommend against it whenever it comes up in conversation with friends.

Hello Adam, our subscriptions are indeed automatically renewed at the end of each subscription period. So that we can offer you an alternative, I invite you to contact our support via the support center of our website.
  • No refunds.

Typically, I find companies who believe in their product will be gracious about offering a refund. If you happen to forget to cancel your subscription before the payment is processed, that’s it. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t used the app and forgot about it, it doesn’t matter if you plan to use it for the next 365 days. This company does not care and won’t act in good faith. I was sending emails to support asking if I could get a refund and got the same, stale answer several times. Never using this again.

  • Deceptive Auto-renewal Practice

First off, this is a decent app. I bought a 1-year subscription at the start of the pandemic in March 2020. I used it a little, but ended up using another app for in-home workouts. Now that gyms have reopened in my area as of fall 2020, I stopped using apps.

Having said that, the way this auto-renews automatically is extremely deceptive. They do not send you an e-mail before it is scheduled to auto-renew for another year. Mine just renewed again for another year. After contacting support to reverse the charge and prorate it, I was told they cannot do that. I’ve never dealt with a company that cannot reverse a charge and prorate an auto-renewal. Even the king of sleazy auto-renewals, SiriusXM, will prorate your cancellation if you ask to have something cancelled immediately. Frankly, I’d steer clear of this app and use something with more transparent billing practices like Apple Fitness+ or something. That at least bills monthly.

  • Be aware of the bad reviews!

The most of the bad reviews are for the similar reason: the way the charge you and the refund policy is just worse than the industry standard. This app is a decent app and I used it for a while when the gym is closed. Then I stopped using it. I do regularly checked my apple account subscription section to make sure I don’t have unwanted subscription but this app is not there even in their app they said the subscription is managed on apple account. Today I found out I was charged for another $150. I immediately contact the app and got an immediate automatic reply indicating they don’t refund anything because of the policy. There is no notification from app or email me about the scheduled payment. They just quietly take your money until you find out.
