    If u just want to check recent activity and ur balance, that’s about all u can do. It certainly needs more features before it deserves a passing grade.

    The app doesn’t work at all and keeps prompting “Access to the server is forbidden!!”

    Compared to the Canadian version, this app isn’t really good at all. It lack of features and you can’t do much on the app.

    The app—and the website for that matter—are not so good. Very dated and short on features. What few feature it does have don’t work consistently. For example, FaceID has never worked, when logging in banking is frequently “unavailable,” and 2FA has to be done every time you login. And when you login the first and biggest thing you see is a picture of a smiling woman. That’s not an issue, but weird

    What few banking features the app does have work as a minimum viable product. You can see transactions and deposit checks, which is nice. But even for those features set your expectations low. For example, most banking apps now automatically capture your check, however with CIBC you have to position the check and do everything your self. Anything slightly complex, bank transfers or viewing account numbers for example, have to be done on the website. Things like adding beneficiaries can only be done by email or at a branch.

    All that being said CIBC is a good bank if you live in Chicago.
