Bed is great, app no so much
I have the i8 and I love it. My back definitely feels better. The app? Not so much. The features are limited: only one favorite setting. Can’t set presets for varying position and different sleep numbers. Customization on the consumer end is very limited because the app is very limited. And the worst feature of all is the sleep tracking. It’s actually completely inaccurate. Can’t manually input, or in this case correct wrong data so the sleep score is useless. That part of the app is just trash. The auto night light was great the first few days but now goes on randomly and will stay on all night so I just shut it off, another useless app controlled feature. I don’t know who wrote the app and built the tech it supports but there is a major disconnect. The bed promises so much, delivers some of it and the app offers features it can’t deliver. Sleep tracking is pathetic, limited features like editing sleep sessions (the app decides your start and stop, not you ), only one “favorite” setting over infinite possibilities (at least allow for a half dozen faves), limited programmability and customization. For several thousand dollars the whole package needs to work way better and the app needs to be dynamic: not something a built to look like it does whole lot when it does very little.

Not perfect
I’ve been using this app for years now and must say became obsessed with my numbers…which isn’t good. After years I’ve decided this. There are too many situations they don’t take into consideration…meds you may take (Advil does raise your heart rate while sleeping) can give you a negative ding on heart rate. If you work out daily like I do sore muscles are part your day and night. Being sick can screw up your numbers. And sometimes it doesn’t even begin tracking until you’ve been in bed for almost an hour. All these contribute to a negative overnight sleep number. They need to add more variables…are you on meds tonight? Are you ill? And then they need to configure that into the grand scheme. I JUST read an article that said weekend sleeping in for good for cardiovascular health as we catch up from the week. This app punishes you for that. “You got too much sleep so we’re going to ding you.” Starting today I’m going to ignore the app from now on and may just delete. All the negative numbers make you feel worse than a good nights sleep and that’s counterintuitive to what I want. Guess what I’m trying to convey…don’t put too much stock in this app. It really gave me some anxiety when my numbers were low yet I felt great that morning. Go with your gut. I do think they could do much better.

Customer service just gives the run around
We have had our bed and loved but then issues started with the bed not staying inflated and got ahold of customer service and they had us do certain things to try and then reconnect with them and share the results which we did then they just started giving us the runaround and wanted us to keep doing the same test over and over again with no good results and that went on and on through e-mail and phone. Then the box started not connecting to our internet which we have the top of the line internet and again contacted sleep number and went through all the same with this issue and trying to make it out to be our internet when it had been connected to it fine for a long time and every time we would talk to a new person it would be the same thing in plug your internet, do you have good internet?, reset the bed, etc…….. now our Bluetooth is connecting than it wasn’t and then we to unplug the bed and plug it back in and then the Bluetooth works for a day or two and then we have to do it all over again I just wish that they would fix the bed so we can enjoy it again because if they did my rating would be higher I just wish there wasn’t so much of a run around to just try to get the bed back working.

Good app overall
I use this app exclusively for controlling my Climate360 bed, while my dh uses his remote control instead. He gets frustrated with the remote at times, but my phone app always seems to work for me. I can also control his side with my app, but I can’t make programs for his side for some reason. The app loads quickly and is very intuitive and responsive. The latest updates have simplified functionality. My only concerns with the app are that there are some bed features that could be utilized but are not. I would like to see the ability to make more than just one program for the temperature settings per night. If you set the bed for cooling, you can’t have it switch to heating or modify the level of cooling throughout the night. Might even be nice to have it be able to turn on and off and back on again during the night. Temperature needs can change during sleep. With all of the smart features the bed has, you’d think it could allow for that programming, or better still, offer a sensor in the bed that senses temperature changes in the night and automatically adjust air flow for it. While I think the bed could do these things, the app doesn’t allow for it. Overall, good app (but could be even better.)

New bed
If this is for the app I love it , I like how you can see how you sleep, very informatal , not always accurate. I don’t fall asleep till 2 o’clock in the morning, but at least still so good what I am on my phone and watching TV that it registers that I’m sleeping. But if you want to know about the bed, I’m very dissatisfied with it my remote. I did not get no mattress straps so for three weeks now I’ve been sleeping on a bed that slides because we got a split king , when you call the people you talk to really don’t care they act like it’s no big deal. I felt it’s a big deal. I spent $8000 for a bed and I am sleeping in a crack because I fall into it very uncomfortable when you’ve had back surgeries and rides and screws in your back. I am calling first thing Monday morning to have them pick up this mattress and bring me another one. That is not a complete split and see how far I get on that I didn’t want this bed. My husband did and he is ready to get rid of it after three weeks, I can say delivery guys were on time very polite very helpful. Really really nice customer service when you call they don’t really care. as of right now, I would not recommend this bed maybe when I get a different mattress and I don’t have one sliding around my opinion about it will change.

Glitchy
This app is way too glitchy considering how much I paid for this bed.. removing sleep sessions randomly, not going to the sleep number I selected (consistently going down to 0 every time I lower it at all), and it’s not showing the right sleep number with my sleep sessions so I can’t even see an accurate average for each sleep number. Half of my sleep sessions say I slept at 100, when I’ve never slept at anything over 50. The bed is good, but the app is frustrating, especially because it has so much potential, but manages to mess up almost every single function it has. The biggest issue is not being able to accurately control the number settings. It’ll be at 100 and I’ll set it to go down to 50 or 45 and unless I tell it to stop early it’ll just go all the way to zero. I always have to guess about where it’s at (it doesn’t show the number decreasing on the screen) and hit stop when I think it’s close to my number, then inflate or deflate more if needed. I really hope this gets fixed with an update.
Edit/Response to Sleep Number: I am not using the find my sleep number setting. Although this started being an issue after I used it once. It’s acting as if it’s stuck in the find my sleep number mode, but I am selecting specific numbers and hitting “set”.

Response from developer
Hi, it sounds like you might be using the 'Find my Sleep Number setting' feature. Please make sure you are tapping the arrows to select the Sleep Number setting, then pressing 'Set'. If you don't see 'Set' try reducing the display/zoom setting on your device. For further assistance you can email us at appfeedback@sleepnumber.com.
Great Information Poor Design
This app has loads of information about the Sleep Number bed and personal health. It however is very complex and hard to navigate. There are many sections which have useful information but it is difficult to move around the sections and not intuitive. To begin with it’s hard to register two users. The first user is reasonably straightforward but to register a second person required two phone calls to customer service. Even with customer service help, the first user was dropped when the second was added. Not only is there a lot of information about the beds, there is a lot of personal health information provided for each user. Unfortunately not all of the information is explained and therefore less helpful. Some of the sections of the app have no clear way to move to another and you must exit the app and return to get to another area. There’s a great feature that provides loads of helpful information while also earning rewards. There are many sections of information that give you rewards points good for merchandise by reading them or viewing a short video. There is a problem with some of the sections that don’t work and some that you can’t exit without exiting the app and then returning.

Great bed. Horrible app
Even with the recent overhaul to the app, it continues to have the same problems, which become quite unbearable when you are using the bed morning and night like us. First and foremost, the inconsistent and erratic Bluetooth connectivity is simply unacceptable at this point. We have now had the i9 360 bed for over 3 years and this issue has existed just as long with the app. It’s not the bed, as it does the same to my wife… it’s not the control unit as we have swapped that out… it is this lousy app. EVERY TIME we open the app and go to control the flexfit base (raise it, lower it, reposition it, etc) it only connects to WiFi (which does not allow you to move bed in real-time)… until I back out of the flexfit base control and go back in… then after a few seconds (maybe) the app will finally connect Bluetooth.
Why is this such a problem you ask?! Well, because controlling the base with WiFi is a complete joke unless you’re using a preset. It’s a 5 minute guessing game, moving the arrows on screen to where you think you want the bed, then setting it only to find you went way too far, or not enough… then back to the guessing.
Please hire a different company to redesign your app. Or at LEAST fix this issue PLEASE!!!! We love the bed itself, but this has become such a headache for us, we are considering other beds for our next move/purchase. Thank you.

Slooooooooowwwww.....
The new app is slow to open, like a minute of dark blue screen with only the static "up/down arrow" SleepNumber logo on it at boot. You don't know if the app is still booting or hung. No spinning wheel or animation for visual feedback. Then, once data is on the screen, clicking anything responds in 5-15 seconds, again with no "wait! I'm working on it..." visuals: you don't know if the thing wasn't clickable in the first place, or your finger missed the mark, or didn't tap hard enough to your iPhone's liking, or app is still thinking, or just plain hung. Try clicking on a date in the calendar view and see how long you'll wait before you get the wrong date because you kept tapping on it out of impatience... The entire app rewrite seems to have been done only for a pretty facelift without any major feature additions, save maybe for a bug or two. But it also has been written assuming a UI that is very responsive to the users' taps. Without that responsiveness, it really has become a major pain to use. As a four decades long software guy with a SleepNumber bed for the last 15+ of those years, I suspect this is all about server-side lack of capacity to respond back in time for every tap on screen, and client-side lack of (pre)caching of data so that each tap won't result in a painful little server call...

Sleep Number 360 best bed ever
We upgraded our sleep number M7 that we purchased 10 years ago for a sleep number 360. We ordere. it from the Springhill TN store over the phone. We have been sleep number customers for over 10 years now and would not have any other type of bed. We didn’t think it would be possible to have a bed more comfortable than our old M7. However, the first night that we slept in the 360 what is the most amazing sleep I have ever had in my entire life. We used our app to find our perfect setting. We also set the temperature control so that would automatically cool to our perfect comfort. The app is very user-friendly and easy to control. The bed We ordered from James at the Spring Hill store, and Nathan also assisted. The customer service I received was impeccable. The Delivery was done to perfection and delivered exactly on time. The installers were great communicators, moved my old bed to another room and installed my new bed in about an hour and a half. They showed us how to use our bed using the app and made sure that we were happy before they left. I will never ever have any other bed as long as I live, I am a forever Sleep Number customer. Now my husband and I can’t wait to to go to bed every night.
