This is glitchy AF
Upon getting my receiver I learned that you can control it with your phone, so I download the app. A few months ago the remote app would no longer find the receiver.I tried to re-download it but that didn’t work. When It was working though it was good. I don’t know if that is because I have a VPN, or onkyo not updating the app. I hope we can fix this soon so he can keep using our Receivers with the network control.Show lessdjnoahbve
Works well with a couple flaws
Overall it works well. Like other users have said I find it annoying that it has to search for the receiver every time I switch to a different app or something. It only takes a brief second or two so I can deal with it. But what really annoys me is the following:
for the life of me I can’t turn the volume up on Zone 2 (when I turn it up it always goes back to 0). I’m using it with a TX RZ800. I lost my original remote so I’m going to try everything to get it working before I purchase a replacement remote.
****Update**** I finally did figure out how to turn the volume up on Zone 2 of my receiver. I had to go into settings and change the volume on Zone 2 to variable and increased it to the right volume level. Now I just have to figure out how to get the sound to play but I think that’s a receiver problem and not the remote app.
With all this said I do recommend using the remote app. I can be out in the driveway and turn the music on. It’s great!Show lessJason In Duluth
Annoying connect every time if switching apps
This app is the only way to control my Onkyo av amp from iPhone. There is one issue which is really annoying: every time I switch away from this app and switch back again, this app will take 5 Seconds to reconnect my amp.
Also the music steaming service is slow to show and respond: integrated tunein is slow and hard to search as well.
To me having a streamlined music streaming serial critical - I consider switching to another brand for next av amp due to this.Show lessRudeyyao
Convenient but...
This app is nice to have at my desk so I can control volume, sound quality, sources, etc. by biggest complaint is the lack of background refresh. If u come back to the app to quickly adjust the volume, the app will do an annoying refresh before you can do anything. Sometimes it will not even reconnect.Show lesssentinoboca
Limited
Maybe I’m missing something but when I want to stream an opera from my iPhone the app organises all of the first songs from each act together then all of the second from each act and so on. Totally useless when listening to a sequential performance. I now stream operas from Spotify but perhaps there is a way to get around it. Would appreciate any feedbackShow lessDdddddddgd

Unfriendly, Not easy to use
This is a classic example of a company who views “having an app” as a checkbox item rather than realizing its a part of the customer experience that will either increase or decrease customer loyalty and trust.
Usually caused by not having a role in the organization that understands software ecosystems and advocates for the app to be a strategic advantage, instead of way to tick a box, yet have customers write unflattering reviews here.Show lessNo real Functionalty
No longer recognizes my 1030
This used to be a decent app but had lately stopped finding my TX-NR1030. After going through my setup and verifying that’s it’s not on my end. I can only conclude the app itself is to blame. I’m probably going to move on to Yamaha.Blackloz
Try Integra Remote for iOS 11
I was using this app for a couple of years and loved it. It was especially convenient for controlling Zone 2 on my Onkyo TX-NR636. I was really enjoying it on my iPhone 6 with iOS 10.3.3.
I then upgraded to iOS 11. Nothing would work. I waited as long as possible to upgrade to 11 due to the age of my iPhone, but another app forced the issue. I had waited almost 9 months to upgrade to iOS 11.
I was very disappointed that Onkyo did not work on this app to make it iOS 11 compatible. This is especially true after I just tried the Integra Remote, and it worked immediately after downloading! Give that app a try.Show lessBP Thor
No worky with IOS 12, now binned
This is my last bit of patience ebbing away for Onkyo. Had amps since 2005 and this app now is bricked, Onkyo you don’t think at all about long term customers. Had hdmi problems with the amp with faulty boards. Back to Denon for me!onkyostink
