Piss poor app
I can’t even complete my claim whatsoever, page keeps turning completely blue
Unsafe and insecure
Since the app has came out I’ve lost my account, just now for the second time. Through too many bad attempts it says. However I have not been trying to get in since last email telling there was something in my inbox. App last, seems to login but can’t view anything. Try another option, says not connected to internet, which is not the case. Now told I have to go create a new account for the third time in theee years. Please improve the app if we have to keep using it. Don’t know how older non-technical users would even cope with this.

WORST APP EVER CREATED
This app is HORRENDOUSLY bad…
It’s borderline impossible to get anything done on it?
And that even IF you manage to log in!!!!
Every single person iv spoken to that uses it OR individuals that ACTUALLY WORK THERE.
At the Department of Human Services even say it’s a terrible unorganized mess!
And they’re absolutely right
But unfortunately we have no other choice but to use this monstrosity
That handles ALL of our most important and private in formation
Every time I call them with an issue? AbSOLOUTLY
NOONE knows what’s goin on!

Useful if you can get it to work
Authentication is Byzantine and nearly impossible if you’ve replaced a phone after a loss/theft. Only the Australian public service could make something so inanely obtuse. They probably paid hundreds of millions in consultancies and it’s so startlingly obstructive. I guess it could be slightly worse, at least it’s not Robodebt and hasn’t quite driven people to suicide. But they are giving that a red hot go. I feel like smashing things after continually being locked out for two hours. Maybe they’re trying to simulate calling Centrelink.

Impossible to pay my hex debt
I am trying to use this app to pay my student loans. Due to crashes, unnecessary redirects, system failures that aren’t reflected to the user and incredibly poor UI that doesn’t capture the state of my data, I have found it impossible to link the ATO service.
I am trying to pay them money and the uselessness of their own applications is getting in the way. Absolute garbage.

“Not connected to internet” when I am
I tried to send feedback within the app but there is no way for me to enter a comment, so you get a 1 star review instead.
I was wondering why my tax return was taking so long so I logged into the website and saw it had been completed weeks ago, I just never received any notification within the myGov app! I recently set up a passkey so I’m not sure if that’s the reason, that doing that logged me out on the app but I wasn’t asked to log in again.

Oh dear…
I have an iPhone 14 Plus and this app doesn’t work on it - at all. It just says “No internet connection”, which is not the case. The Wi-Fi and 4G are fine. For some strange reason it works on an iPhone 11! How on earth will the app cope when the proposed digital driving license and Myki cards are available to be added?! Oh, my god, can you imagine the 1 star reviews that will flood in?! Ha. I pity the lazy government devs that worked on this…or was it farmed out to some 3rd world labour camp for a bag of marbles as payment? The idiots that created this app should be fired asap. Come to think of it, every government app is useless - this one being the gold standard. Don’t bother…just use the web site and forget this fetid lump of garbage.

“You’re not connected to the internet”
As others have mentioned, the app fails to actually work in any way, giving errors and messages as per my title (“You’re not connected to the internet”). This has been for some time, and even subsequent to an app update. That this, the Australian federal government’s primary iPhone app, simply does not work somewhat beggars belief. (Note, tried on multiple devices and multiple unrelated networks, all of them “connected to the internet” - I hate error messages that blame you for the software’s problem, it smacks of arrogance, irresponsibility and laziness)

It’s 2024. The Internet has been around for 30 years. We are 24 years in to the 21st
Century. How hard is it to get these apps right. And have some sort of speed other than glacial and have an interface that works and doesn’t come up with an error message. This is no doubt what happens when you farm out development to 3rd world people on the base of cost. Everything seems to be going backwards.
