Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Follow Up Boss at 71% against HighLevel's 25%. HighLevel's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium) and rating (4.5 vs 4.3). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

HighLevel holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HighLevel has 3.7K ratings behind it against 395, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Follow Up Boss's written reviews are positive against 25% of HighLevel's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Follow Up Boss ships an update fortnightly, HighLevel every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on November 6, 2026.
