Have to login to App every single time to control the blind.

It didn’t ask loging in before but now whenever I open the app again have to enter ID & password.
App is already slow connecting to the blind and this login issue makes the experience terrible.
They have to update the app.

App now crashing

App is crashing after updating to iOS 16.0.2. It’s been working fine for years.

An app stuck in the past

The company seems scattered and the app and automation system feels abandoned. They launched out of the gate with regular updates and features but then seemed to lose interest and moved on. They operate a separate app for similar blinds and they also have poor reviews. Instead of consolidating the systems and improving voice control everything is stuck in 2016. I can turn my car on with my voice but I have to say 10 words to get my blinds to either open or close with no multi step ability and unless the blinds are all in a single room you do each 10 word step for each blind you want opened or closed. The blinds and app even lack the ability to be part of a routine for watching tv or the likes. The app has the look and feel of a high school project and the company couldn’t care less.

nov 9th 2021: New update in a year, bug fixes only, and didn’t fix the bugs? I don’t get it. Seemingly a new firmware for the blinds was released yet only one blind has updated. The list, no matter the approach taken, is devoid of my other 3 blinds, huh off. On. Standing next. Hard reset. Reinstalled app. Even factory reset two do the blinds. Only difference I can see from the one that updated to the other three is the one that received the firmware update has no solar kit attached?

Slow updates

Been over a year since the last update. No ability to reset blinds from app no easy way to incorporate blinds to other smart home tech… would not it again

Not as good as Tilt, but fine enough

The MySmartBlinds app is fine. It’s not very polished, clean, or modern like their Tilt app. It feels like an app that came out on iOS 6. Speaking of Tilt, not sure why MySmartBlinds haven’t been rolled into Tilt. Either way, the app works well enough.

The only thing that needs to be added (again, if not combining into Tilt) is the ability to control individual blinds without giving each blind it’s own room.

Works ok. No sunrise sunset option

Was expecting the app to have open and close at sunrise and sunset functionality. Unfortunately this feature is not available.

Works great but needs Siri Shortcuts bad

It was a little tricky to install the first one but I could do my next two in about 15 minutes. Great alternative to replacing my nice wood blinds and I’m very grateful to have this as an option. Five stars once this is compatible with Siri Shortcuts or HomeKit.

Pretty darn good for the price

I have five of the conversion “kits” from MySmartBlinds... on both old and new 2-inch blinds... running for a couple of years now. Taking out the original manual tilt-mechanisms, and replacing with the MSB kits, was easy (minutes). Similarly, getting them connected to the app and scheduling them to do what I wanted was also easy.

Five stars for installation and app-setup.

I’ll ding them for one star, however, for a minor annoyance they’ve exhibited since day-one: While running on battery power, when the battery indicator gets to about 50%, they start behaving a little squirrelly. Once every couple of days, they randomly open or close for no reason, or fail to open/close when they’re scheduled to. Over the years, I have asked the company about this... and they’ve made some suggestions for resetting the schedules, they’ve sent me a new battery, etc... bandaids... but none have been a “fix”. I’m writing this because one of them *just* closed, mid-morning, on its own.

When this starts happening... roughly every two months... I just charge them all up, and the behavior stabilizes. But it’s annoying that the battery indicators all tell me they have plenty of charge remaining, when they start losing their minds.

For the price - terrific. But this long-standing annoyance is disappointing.

Hi there. Thanks for the review. We're sorry for this inconvenience. Are you able to use solar in those windows? If so, that may fix the issue. Again, we apologize. Please let us know if we can help you further by messaging us at support@tiltsmarthome.com. Thanks!

Cash Grab

Another miserable cash grab. Any software developer who may have worked on this app or for this company is long gone. This technology was brought to a somewhat usable product and then entirely abandoned. Now it just sits to collect money from those who don’t know any better. What a disgusting practice. The entirely absent or convoluted integration with anything else (like Alexa, IFTTT, etc) is absolutely pathetic. With so many steps to actually make this work, the product can’t possibly be for any older folks to use. With garbage software and no integrations/API, it’s also not for smart home enthusiasts. Which leaves me wondering who this dumpster fire is for. With nobody developing this, I know nobody will read this review, but I just wanted to express my grief into the void over this heartless scam. This could be so cool.
