Revolving scam app

This is the 3rd or 4th Tim Horton’s mobile app I’ve had to deal with. Every time I got to use it, I have to co very to a new / latest one and in the process lose gift card balances, have account data migrated poorly, and then the app experience is a JOKE. Place an order and go to pick it up and none of what I ordered is available. WHAT IS THE POINT OF THIS APP THEN? To top it off, I had to put funds on a Tim’s gift card to checkout (because no way am I entering card data after the revolving app saga), and then when the store can’t do they order, they also tell me there is no way to REFUND an order I didn’t get and hand me a bogus receipt for food I never received. Employees tell me they are not allowed to even have or use the app of that tells you anything. Apple should delist this app until serious issues like these are fully resolved by the developers. I better get my money back from this fiasco and not on the dang gift card.

Tim Horton app, still not easy to use!

I was at the local store here trying place a carry out purchase and what a hassle this application is STILL! I tried using this app before covid and it was a nightmare then and still is today! (07\24\24) The problem comes when I try to enter payment information.

You have to do it manually and I didn’t have my wallet. I can not use Apple Pay to pay for my order and I don’t want to have my credit cards on every pay application I use. Can you see the problem with that? While I know nothing is perfect, apple SEEMS to do much, much better at protecting the pay service they provide. Particularly the resent improvements for lost devices.

Searching the menu is not as straightforward as other foods apps like the “your way” people. I was trying to order a dozen plain bagels and I could only order 9. Then I needed a separate one with cream cheese but it wouldn’t let me because I “ reached ” my limit!” I wanted to order coffees and I had to hunt around for that as well. That’s what happens when you use a third-party to coordinate your application.

False Advertisement

I really enjoy ordering ahead through the app. However, the app shows items on the menu that are no longer served at the restaurants. I’ve had to get a refund several times for items that I was able to add to my cart, that they no longer carry. With so many opportunities to do updates for bug fixes and what not, it seems like this should be on their radar as it’s almost like false advertisement. You’re paying for a product that’s not available, and then you have to jump through hoops to receive a refund. I don’t frequent multiple establishments. I have 2 stores as my go-to locations. Maybe other stores have oatmeal, but my favorite stores do not… BUT I can order it on the app

Couple things that need fixing

#1 - On more than 5 occasions, the app switched my order location after I submitted it. The first time, I thought maybe I made a mistake. But then it happened again. It will work correctly for awhile, and then again, switch my location. The employees say they cannot fill my order because it was sent to a different location, and that I need to contact customer service. Only 1 time has CS responded to me, and they gave me the equivalent in rewards points. No refund.

#2 - Because of the app glitching and changing locations after you submit the order, there should be a grace period to cancel your order through the app.

#3 - Customization! For example, when I order a breakfast wrap in person, they ask if I want the chipotle sauce. When I order online, it doesn’t give me the option. Seems as though the sauce is standard on the wrap, yet for some reason they ask in person, and thru the app, they make it without.

confused

app is fine, ordering is fine and I got my points, the only problem I’m having with it is it claims my order went thru when the location I sent it to didn’t receive it. they honored my order anyways and their shift lead was very lovely and helpful, but now I can’t order thru the app again bc I can’t trust they’ll receive my order and my points are essentially rendered useless. I hope this gets corrected in the future bc the last thing I want to be is an inconvenience for the staff.
I gave it three stars for ease of use of the app but the two will remain off until they fix this.

addendum: when I search my location up on the app it says it can’t find it. I’ve had to manually type it in and favorite it but this location has been here for at least five/six years, this shouldn’t be an issue anymore :(

NOT GREAT!

There is no search bar, you have to navigate the app through selecting each and every option over and over. They don’t let you select multiple kinds of donuts at once, which is a pain for this reason. They send you right back to the beginning! How annoying.

The app is unbearably slow in the mornings, I’m not sure if it’s due to app traffic or what, but sometimes it takes a full 5 minutes to place a three-five item order because it takes forever to load. It took that long this morning.

There was, unfortunately, a tragic accident outside my local Tim Horton’s that resulted in a block which denied my access to the restaurant. Because the order had already been placed, I was not allowed to cancel it. This is a ridiculous policy. Do you start making the food immediately after the order is placed? Highly doubtful.

Hey! While we wish you’d had a better app experience, we really appreciate the feedback. Any chance you can provide us with some additional details at timhortons.com/support so that we can follow up?

Great coffee, but pretty terrible app

There is no easy way to add a new gift card to your account/rewards. Like, just enter the card number and pin, and presto, there's your money. It SHOULD be that easy. This should all be linked, much like the Wawa or Sheetz (or even *gasp* Dunkin') apps.

To get the Tim Card process rolling on the app, you have to enter credit card info, add money, etc. If you want to stop the auto reload feature, you have to jump through hoops and log in on the website (not app) to change it. This is dumb. Again, one should be able to just enter the gift card number and pin to apply the funds.

Two stars - only because the rest of the interface and design are somewhat pleasing. Take a break from the pond hockey and get with times, Timmy.

Don’t Get This App

The convenience of ordering with an app for a fresh cup of Tim’s is great but this app stinks. You will need to be VERY careful that the app applies the discounts you activate. Nine times out of ten they are not applied and you need to back out of your order and reapply them. However, this is a minor inconvenience compared to orders not going through. On numerous occasions we have placed online orders and received a confirmation email only to find out when we get to the restaurant that they never received our order. They then proceed to charge us again for the order minus any online order discounts. The store always tells us that they can’t do anything about problems with the app. I like Tim’s coffee but I am not willing to pay double for it. Unfortunately I am at the point where I am not going to go back to Tim’s, period.

New containers for donuts with frosting on them

When purchasing donuts that have topping or frosting on them by the time you get home or where you are taking them all the frosting is off the donut and sticking to the bag!! My grandkids get so mad that they don’t want the donut anymore, even trying to scrape it off the bag it looks messy!! So I wish and (many other people I have spoken to have the same issue) they could come up with a better way to serve the donuts or a different container to place them in!! Maybe like how they serve the egg bites or the sandwiches, I hate wasting my money so now I won’t even buy them anymore!!

Great, but could use improvement.

App is great and easy to use. 1 or 2 options that would make it great.

1. I wish that if you pay on your tim card, that it would automatically register the points…instead of scanning the phone for rewards, and then scanning again to pay.

2. The smoothie king app does, but I have yet to see another app do it. If they did it, I would have no complaints. You should be able to link your credit card and rewards barcode. Therefore when you scan the rewards barcode, not only does it register your points, but also pays AND takes the money out from your linked card. That way you don’t have to always reload your Tim card.
