  • Ease of use issues

Trying to locate your home store is the most ridiculous waste of time this app has to offer. Instead of filtering by nearest zip codes ( since it is already given in the mailing address) they make you scroll through every store they have, sorted in a way that is not at all reminiscent of alphabetical order. This with the two times I went to use my card, and my phone number ( same for over 10 years) was not properly linked to my card, and trying to get appropriate discounts required me paying the regular price and then going to customer service after for a credit, once they established I did in fact have an account.
C’mon people!! This technology is here to help us, not dumb us down! It is frustrating because all major stores are owned by the same parent company, so it is a big circular firing squad we have to put up with. Most of it is because they keep doing “payroll cleansing” and are required to hire less competent people to replace the people who know and understand how the programs work. If I can buy all my stuff from a local farm I do so, but these empirical numbskulls know they have you by the short hairs and there is little that can be done about it.

  • Not easy to use

Compared to Instacart, it is extremely difficult to use this app. It’s not organized. You gotta type in something exactly how it is in order to find it and a lot of stuff is impossible to find even though they definitely do have it if you go there in person.
And a lot of times if you type in exactly what you want it’s still can’t find it and it says that the item is unavailable, but it definitely is there until you look it up a different way or go through the aisles and then you’ll see the item that they just said wasn’t there.
They just need to improve the apps efficiency. It’s very difficult to use. However, the fees are really good. Compared to Instacart. The fees are way better. Instacart will charge you $10 for a service fee and then another 12 for a delivery fee and then you have to tip the driver and then you gotta pay another fee for something else and then by the time you’re done with all the fees it’s about 50+ dollars when your bill should’ve been $50 less than what it was if you just went there in person.
however, with the ShopRite app it’s more like if your bill is $300 then with the fees and everything it will be about 310 to 315 depending on how good of it tipper you are.

  • Not So Happy Shopping at this Shop Rite

First and utmost, quite few managerial staff members are not pleasant. They seem to be annoyed most of the time. I heard a manager tell a customer who was trying to explain to her the pricing was wrong or the product was not in the right spot she told him I didn’t pack it out, so basically it wasn’t her problem but the gentleman told her you’re the manager take care of it. I find this to be a big issue. Things are in the wrong spot or mismarked and after it’s brought to the managers attention nothing is done about it. The item still stays in that spot tricking people, thinking that the item is a certain price and it really is not. Also, I find that this ShopRite does not carry a lot of products that other ShopRites have I.e. in Wall, or even in Lacey. Other ShopRites have more of a variety and carry many more interesting and different items this store does not have. Plus the fact the employees are really nice and helpful. The cashiers at this ShopRite arec very nice considering that they must deal with the not so nice managers. I would just like to say it’s not all the managers and customer service people. There are a few that that are obliging but some are not. Being rude is a big turnoff

  • Frustrated

I am a frequent user of this app and while it has a few improvements from the previous version (variety of products), I’m required to sign into the app about every 10- 14 days. I cannot tell you how frustrating it is to be ready to head into the store and open my app , only to find I need to sign in. That takes a bit and sometimes it does it to me in the store where the reception is terrible.

This week my basket disappeared. I had filled my cart up intending to schedule a pickup but changed my mind and went to the store instead. When I opened the app before heading into the store, I didn’t need to log in but all the items I had placed in the virtual cart disappeared. Once I got done shopping and got home, I checked my app to check for a sale price and my virtual cart was back with all the items I put in earlier in the day.

I’m starting to miss just using a paper flyer. It’s getting to be too much work. Although having ALL coupons (including the special ones that were once sent in the mail)!digital is a plus.

  • Improved

The new app is an improvement over the old app, BUT I still am not completely satisfied. When I went to look at previous purchases, there were none listed. And even more aggravating, the search engine was completely useless. Put in what I wanted to search for, and NOTHING HAPPENED. As a result I did not get all the products I needed. Please continue work on improving this app. I like the convenience of shopping from home and the delivery aspect of Shop Rite.

This is an ADDENDUM to the above. The current Shoprite app has improved so much since I last used it. It was easy to navigate. It allows you to browse & shop from the circular. I am very pleased.

I always opt for delivery, but I find there are never enough current slots open & I usually have to wait several days to get my order. I hope this aspect will be improved in the future.

  • Don’t fix what wasn’t broke

Please revert back to the old version. I’m a user that started creating shopping carts for in store shopping in order to remain on budget. I’ve given this new version quite a few months to get used to but it didn’t get easier. I like the concept of keeping the “all items/checked/unchecked”; makes it easier to create my cart with items I purchase regularly. However, the price total only reflects all items vs having a separate total for unchecked items (my actual shopping list). The new search is the worst part about this. Making it multiple step to see all items with the category/name being searched; it’s too time consuming for a working mom. It would be great if when I searched a word, ie: pasta, it brought up my frequently bought items first, but instead it gives me items I’ve never heard of let alone items I shop for. Or making my digital receipt interactive so I can just add items from there to my cart.
It used to be so simple and vision friendly. This version is too much. I miss the old version very much. And if what I have mentioned are actual current options in the app, please help bc I can’t figure it out. Thank you.

  • This is a review for the ap not the service or store

Why are people soo oblivious to what they are doing? This is a review for the shoprite ap not the store you have a problem with! The developers cannot help you with bad customer service or your Karen situation.

That being said… the website is beautiful and light and modern and user friendly, most importantly. But I am having trouble with my password. I have used the shoprite ap for years, and I mean like probably since it was first developed. In my former address in fancy NOrthern NJ we had the scan as you go feature and it was FABULOUS. Now I’m in Delaware and they are just catching on to using your own bags.. dark ages I know.
Either way with the new ap my password never saves and I always have to re-enter it, not a big deal really. However today I tried to log in to clip my digi coupons and got the wrong pw msg. Hmm ok? Tried again, and again on my laptop and again, no luck. my phone has the pw stored correctly for sure. Laptop does not. So I decided to do the reset, and it’s been an hour and still no email to reset. So I can’t login and do the coupon thing. I know it’s a first world problem but I’d really like to save the .50c on the coffee deal today. Thanks!

  • Unable to view Circular

Hello, I have been using the Shoprite app for a while to view the weekly circular and load digital coupons for when I do in person shopping. However, since the recent major update to the app, I am unable to select any of the locations that i frequent to view their circulars. This is because when I go to select the stores from the circular tab, it gives me a list of stores for Pickup and none of mine are on that list. I am not using the app for the pickup service however; i only want to see the circular, which i can access easily from the Shoprite website but not on the app. Please look into this issue. I would also like to suggest another improvement to the app. Before the major update I did not have to make a Shoprite account to load digital coupons to my card. This is now necessary it seems, which is incredibly inconvenient because no one wants yet another login to keep track of and another company with our emails and data, but also the login system is unwieldily and seems to log itself out. I understand that perhaps developers cannot remove the login requirement for bureaucratic reasons, but i would suggest that you at least allow us to login by scanning our Shoprite cards with our phone cameras. Still, if you are able to, please go back to not requiring logins, it makes the app even less usable and offers no benefit to me at least, as i just want some digital coupons. Thank you.

  • Terrible Update

I finally was happy with how the Shoprite app was working and then it was recently updated and it is just so terrible. It keeps making me choose my store over and over again and I can no longer easily switch back and forth between shopping in store, pickup, or delivery. I used to like to make my list throughout the week and then choose to check off items as I shopped in the store or simply choose to have the items shopped for me. Now when I try to switch my order to pickup it makes me choose my store (again), transfer the whole list over, etc. A real pain. I also can no longer see all of my past purchases in one place but I keep having to go back, into the next category, load more items, etc. Another real pain. To top it off, I finally got my order completed only to realize that Apple Pay did not appear as a payment option under digital wallets, which is always has in the past. I am very disappointed in this new update - I haven’t seen anything good about it. I’d much rather have the old version back!

  • Not Happy With May 2022 App “Enhancement”

Last week’s update was the opposite of an enhancement for me. It turned app from landscape to portrait on my iPad, removed most of my order history and item notes, required me to manually type in Credit card number (instead of allowing Apple Pay or CC auto fill from my device or pasting in the number). Made me keep losing time slots as I struggled to check out. I started using ShopRite curbside pick-up during the height of the pandemic, in March 2020, even though we have closer options. Recently, I decided to see if they had worked out the substitution kinks, now that the supply chain issues aren’t nearly as bad. Unfortunately, all my 2020 and most of 2021 order history and item notes have disappeared with this update. I also can no longer use my iPad keyboard since the app is only in portrait mode. Not worth it to me to invest the time to recreate all that info. I will be using Stop & Shop for most of my curbside pickup orders going forward.
