  • Glitchy app

I enjoyed the classes with Lulu but the app is so glitchy that i was often unable to start classes or watch them fully without interruption. had to cancel my subscription because i slowly stopped using the app due to so many glitches.
  • So refreshing!

I joined in Aug 2021 so I’ve been using this app for a little under 8 months, and it is my fav fitness app yet! I loved that none of the instructors (for classes I typically do) talk about food or dieting, the focus is solely on exercise and movement and feeling good. I love the variety in types of classes, intensities within those categories, different instructors to choose from, and varying lengths for when I’m not feeling a full 60min or when I’m feeling powerful and wanna tack on an extra 15 min bonus Pilates session.

My only complaint is the Replay classes. I don’t understand the point of having (what feels like over a third of the classes are now) classes that you can only do once. Some of my favorites have been Replays and I can’t do them but once and why? Bc they contain specially curated music? No thank you. I’d be fine if Obé cut the music all together if it’s forcing them to make weird choices like Replay classes. I used to use The Class but they also stopped providing on-demand classes altogether and that’s why I left. I hope they get rid of it soon.

But that being said, I still love this app and recommend it to anyone who feels like a novice to exercise and isn’t sure where to start. :)

  • Predatory Billing

The app itself is pretty typical, though imo there are better apps with similar platforms at rhe same price point. My main issue is billing - I signed up months ago under a 2 months for $2 promotion to try it out and made sure to cancel immediately, which is always the first thing I do when signing up for a trial. Several months later, I'm still being billed. Went to see what was going on and cancel AGAIN (I had to redownload the app as I'd deleted it after about two weeks) and the app informs me that I must go to their desktop site to cancel.
I go to the desktop site and go to "cancel subscription" - only to be informed that I must call over the phone between 9:30am-4:00pm Monday to Friday.
A big thing for me with subscription services is how easy it is to cancel - imo if you have a product you stand behind then you don't need to rely on red tape and sleazy practices to retain customers.
I'd look into Sweat or some of the dance apps for a better experience.

  • Bad cancellation process

I’m giving this 2 stars because most importantly, you have to call during business hours in the week to cancel- that is an archaic process and the app needs to get up with the times and make a cancel button like every other app. No one has time to call you during work hours and talk to you on the phone. 2) the app was glitchy with my chrome cast because the sound stopped half way through and at one point I wasn’t able to pause it. 3) I find the instructors calling out names “HI so and so, hi amber!” Etc throughout the workouts is distracting. I understand they are trying to engage users, but for me id rather if they were just using the time to encourage and giving tips for form. That’s just me ! The exercises were generally good.

  • New Body Comp Program is Amazing!

I’ve been a member of Obè since they first launched and just completed their new 4 week body comp program. It is a very doable, effective program. I loved instructors, the balance of upper and lower body workouts, the progression over the four weeks and the rest days. I feel so strong and honestly cannot believe I lifted that much weight the last week. The third week was the most challenging, but now that I’ve completed the program, I totally see the effectiveness of it. This program is great for beginners to experts and I’m already looking forward to doing this program again down the road.

  • Love it but fix the app!!!

Please fix the app. The music in most replay classes is overwhelmingly loud where you cannot hear anything the instructor says. When time is limited as is, this is very frustrating to have to go open multiple classes to find one that plays at an appropriate volume for both music and instructor.

Further, when a Live class is done, the app and screencast refuses to close. So even when I exit the Obé viewer on my TV, it continues to play into the next class until I have to restart my entire TV system. Additionally, the current live class happening will randomly begin playing on its own either interrupting what I actually have playing on the TV or if I am not using the TV, will scare me out of my seat (I work from home). This is a nightmare. Please fix because I truly LOVE the classes you offer!!!!

  • MVP App!!

So glad I took the plunge and signed up for obé two years ago! What this app has done for my physical and mental health, especially during Covid, is priceless. The app is easy to use and navigate, (thank you newly added updates!) A few taps and I can hit up the daily live classes or I can filter through thousands of classes on demand based on how I feel like moving my body that day. The team of trainers are top notch, management is accessible and open minded and the obé team working behind the scenes is so receptive to feedback. This app has not only pushed me to up my physical fitness game but has also linked me with people who I truly believe to be lifelong friends. Thank you obé app!!

  • Almost perfect

Obe fitness is great. My fitness studio no longer offers live streaming classes, and I need something to stay active during the day while continuing to work remotely due to the pandemic. Lots of class options, dig the variety, very easy to schedule, and love that classes are added to my calendar. I wish when I opened the app that the live stream wasn’t automatically playing (catching the tail end of a high energy dance class when you’re online to take a meditation class doesn’t really help the mood/mindset). It’s great that you can schedule an on demand class, but it would be extremely helpful to be able to access the specific class directly from the member’s schedule when it’s time. I scheduled a class, and when it was time to start I had to hunt to find what I signed up for. Kind of defeats the purpose. Maybe clicking from the notification will take me to the specific class, I haven’t tried that yet.

  • One Year, 1000+ classes later...

This app is absolute garbage. So is the website. I cannot believe I am STILL, a year later, begging this company to fix their product. If you promise that your app will motivate workouts by logging your classes and inspiring you to keep that number getting higher, your app and website CANNOT not log those classes. It's the key functionality of your "workout app as social media/silent motivator" concept, and it is so bad. It worked so well for a few months there and then - poof. Suddenly it's like a 30-70 on whether my class will actually register.

Why go all in, full out if I'm just going to have to retake the class again to make sure it counts towards my goal?

Oh, and don't try to contact customer service on this issue (even if you pay for the premium tier!) because they can't do anything more than "log" your complaint.

  • A prenatal godsend

I searched high a low for prenatal workouts that were fun and not overly intense/serious, but also weren’t overly patronizing and constantly calling me a “mama warrior goddess” etc. Obé has an amazing variety of on demand prenatal classes, the instructors have great energy, AND the overall tone is just like a normal (but totally great!) workout class while considering the unique physical priorities of pregnancy. I can’t believe this is so hard to find but it is, and Obé is the only one I’ve found that fits the bill. I am so glad they have so many different types of classes and there are even more options I can try out after giving birth!!!
