  • Obé fitness classes are delightful…app could use some work.

I’ve been using Obé Fitness for the past three weeks. I love it, and plan to pay for a yearly subscription as it is so much more affordable than in person options. As many others have mentioned, it is so much easier to work out in your own home, they have a ton of class options, and the instructors are knowledgeable and make it fun.

The app itself is a work in progress (aren’t we all). Even though I have the most updated version, it crashes every time I try to open it but usually is fine on the second try. I appreciate how easy it is to cast from the app to the Fire TV, but the class history has not been updating for me for either live or videos reviewed which is the most frustrating as I like to have accurate records of the efforts I put in. If the developers can fix those two things, I would be over the moon!

Thanks so much for your review! We are so happy to have you in the obé fam. We can't wait to see you in class! Please reach out to our team about the experience you are having with FireTV, as that's not the experience we want you to have. They can be reached at vip@obefitness.com
  • Would be 5 star but

It’s a great app. Just needs an Apple TV app then it would truly be 5 stars
  • Classes A+, App F

Love the instructors and classes. Sadly the App is terrible. It doesn’t properly track classes, often cuts out if streaming to TV, and most recently started adding classes I’ve never taken into my history. I love the idea of instructors calling you out in live classes, it’s great motivation, but I’ve only heard my name a handful of times out of almost 100 classes. I’ve also had issues using their website. Customer service is always quick to respond they are working on fixing things but I’ve seen no improvements to technical issues since June 2021 when I joined, only new features like collections and replays that made add technical issues in App.

  • Customer service hurts the experience

I used the free trial and signed up for a yearly membership. I liked the content and was committed to working out. A couple of days after the membership started, I realized I could not get fully reimbursed through work unless I changed to a monthly membership (which actually is more expensive). I contacted Obé, they gave me the wrong information: go to “manage subscription”. Later, I called billing, they recommended that I cancelled the membership and start a new monthly one. They asked me to wait 24h. They cancelled the renewal, there was no refund. I called again: “sorry, I’ll request the refund, wait another 24h for a confirmation”. A week later, I have not used the app on their advice and I got a note saying that they did no refunds or cancellations, so I am stuck with a yearly membership. This is a very lousy way to keep a customer for a year. When the year is up, I will go back to Apple Fitness: great content, much more friendly, less drama.

  • Love the content but app itself needs improvement

I love the wide variety of classes that obé offers and how straight-forward and accessible the instructors are. The instructors are very encouraging and they make the workouts challenging no matter the level. Thanks to obé , I’ve been able to get fit and keep a consistent workout schedule, something I was never able to do when I was doing exercises on my own. I always want to workout bc of the fun workouts, particularly as obé makes it really fun to work out with friends! My minor complaint on content is it would be nice if they had music rights for replays; the generic music isn’t fun. It’s particularly a bummer that when there are fun themes- like 90s pop-those aren’t available for replays bc of the music rights issue. Other than that, I love the content!

My biggest problem I have is with the actual app itself. I’m not sure if it’s due to my having an outdated iPhone but it is really challenging to mirror onto Apple TV from the obé app at times. If I don’t do it in a certain order, it doesn’t work (I don’t have a problem with it with other apps). Also, sometimes the app doesn’t even start and I have to give it a little bit of time, which is a problem when I’m trying to join a live class. I also don’t appreciate that it periodically logs out you out for no reason. Again, it’s annoying to do that when you are trying to join a class. The filtering could be more user friendly too as it’s slow.

  • Classes are fun but hard to cancel

I liked the classes, they are fun, varied, and engaging. However, their policies are not customer friendly and leave much to be desired. I subscribed on the website, and in order to cancel you have to call their call center m-f from 9:30-4. Requiring customers to call to cancel in 2021 is one thing, but maybe at least extend the hours so people who have to work during those hours can contact customer support. I was only going to cancel for a few months but now will not be returning.

Please consideration changing your policies to be more customer friendly. Not everyone has free hours during those times or has a lunch break where they can call customer support. Even better, let customers cancel on the website. You can even implement a pause function and retain customers who need to take a break for a few months.

  • App does not level up to the classes !

I love obe and the instructors!
Somehow the app does not do justice to their work..
First i had problems streaming then the classes just stop tracking.
Customer service said they where working on this issues but the fixes take forever to arrive..
2021, no one wants to be carring their laptop around for a workout

  • Obé changed my life

I don’t write reviews for apps but I had to stop and give this one a special shoutout. I recently celebrated my 1 year Obé-versary and I’m so proud how different my life is now than in the past. I struggled for the prior 10 years to get into a consistent exercise routine that worked for me. Obé has made it so easy to dive into fun & engaging workouts every day, and the variety keeps it fresh & interesting. I do have favorite instructors but I also like playing wild card and picking random classes to jump into on a whim. You really can’t get this variety in any other place. I love being able to workout at home in the privacy of my living room without feeling self-conscious at an in-person group class. I am never going back to the gym!

  • Love the classes but needs better features

I’m about a week into Obé and I’m loving the classes I’ve done so far, especially the dance cardio. There’s a huge range of classes for all levels and different instructor styles to suit your needs and preferences. Shout out to Peter T and his dance cardio classes for getting me hooked.

The value you get is great, but the app interface lacks a lot of basic features you’d expect. I’ve also had some glitches - particularly with filtering for on demand classes.

    Suggestions for improvements:
    - improve search filtering (hard to use when adding more than one filter, filters don’t save)
    - ability to create lists of classes to do (separate from your favourites list)
    - when scheduling on demand class in calendar, link to class video (or have easy to find section for scheduled classes)
    - show an icon on video thumbnail when you’ve done a class already (like the heart for favourites)

  • Obsessed after 3 days!

I took barre with Michelle & Pilates with Marcia and... these instructors are good. So good! So freaking good. Idk what magic Marcia has going on with her voice but it literally numbs the burn. Like, ‘while Marcia speaks to me, pain is of the imagination. 🔮’ With barre, you will feel muscles you never knew existed and the pain you feel when you move them for pretty much the first time will be such an awakening. It’s amazing tho, and Michelle will push you through with the simple but important reminder that there’s no magic solution, you just gotta work for it! Ugh, so hype and you can tell by the several essay long reviews we’re all hype.
