  • App doesn’t work

    Worst security system app ever! App is super slow and stops working for long periods of time. I received a few notifications last night from my doorbell camera that someone was at the door and I ended up having to walk to the door to see of there was a burglar because the app was not opening. To be able to check a camera it takes a long time to load; which means that by the time the burglar is already inside the house is when you will be able to see the live video from the camera. Fix the app please!!!!!

  • Lags and loads forever

    This app could be good if it would perform better. The menu lags when selecting cameras or any devices. Just today it was telling me that there is movement in the living room but doesn’t let me access the app and doesn’t show me a recording. It spammed notifications for an hour just glitched out. No evidence of movement or anything. Please fix this app. We pay for the service, I would like a better experience or I will consider moving companies soon.

  • ok but needs some features

    The app works well enough. You can view cameras in real time, arm/disarm the system, and do some maintenance. Some of the deeper features are only available on the Cove console itself, which brings me to my complaints/suggestions: the app and the console have completely different UX and workflows.

    In particular, i really would like the same "night mode" option (instant alarm, no delay) that the console has, in the iOS app.

    I also would love to see Shortcuts/Siri integration so we could arm/disarm the system with voice control.

  • Poor connectivity and interface

    While I appreciate the cost, the Cove cameras are regularly "down" while our internet is working just fine. For the first year, one of our CO2 sensors regularly alerted despite there being no issue, almost getting the fire department dispatched. The app constantly (since installing) has a notification as if something is happening/has happened, but no, that just never goes away. Every time you open the app, it acts as if you have either enable or disable your alarm.

    For the price their service is passable, but the app is terrible. Hire a decent programmer, Cove. Also, why is it my $5 a month credit didn't count for over half a year?

  • Don’t do it

    Installation was a breeze. Door cam, exterior cam and an interior. Door window sensors, glass breaking and motion sensor. All worked well until I asked Cove to add my wife access with her own number. I lost all video. Sign out sign in, delete the app reinstall the app. Multiple calls. My wife has video but I don’t. “Take your phone and reinstall the QR codes with your phone.” This is the phone I installed everything with. The call takers are pleasant people but don’t provide results. Remember 60 days! It’s going back!

  • Customer service helpful

    Called often to seek set up help.
    Always found the staff eager to help and responsive. Set up took two people about one hour and required lots of guess work. But it works now.
  • Quality Home Security

    The security system itself is Amazing! Like with any App there's going to have a few bugs that need tweaking, not everything will be perfect, so don’t let the negative reviews deter you from purchasing this home security system. Another thing I love is the promptness of customer service even if it’s a false alarm (better safe than sorry). This system is affordable and very easy to set up, unlike other companies that charge an arm and a leg for everything! If you have any doubts, don’t you will be satisfied with your purchase.

  • Service is acceptable; App is sub-par

    The service is acceptable, but the app has little to no functionality. According the the website, one should be able to disable/bypass sensors from the app. The smart home (Google/Alexa) integration that comes with “Premium” monitoring (also requires to use the app) is non functional. There is even a disclaimer that says the following: “ We are in the development phase of implementing full home automation for Cove customers, so currently we cannot offer all the services displayed on the App Store or Google Play store.” That was buried deep in the website. Im short, this means that the Google integration is non-existent. TL;DR - they’re good people, but they are over-selling their capability. Pieces are ok. Service is above average. Use ability is lacking. As of this review, you’re better off spending the money on simpli-safe and getting a fully operational AND user friendly system.

  • Cove system ok, app buggy and unreliable

    Over a two week duration I’ve spent 20+ hours on the phone with support.

    I’m on my 3rd control panel - and I have a 4th coming. The sensors communicate with the panel well, and I received one actual flood alarm when a p-trap under a sink leaked.

    The app is horrible and buggy. Unable to arm disarm from the app about 90% of the time.

    The cameras are disconnected from the app about 50% of the time. Takes multiple app force close and reopen to make them work.

    Camera notifications are not configurable and very buggy, and cloud recordings work for a little while and then stop - have had to delete and readd inside and outside cameras many, many, many times.

    Customer support is 97% fluff and wasted time. Just an overseas call center with a poorly written script.

  • Clean it up

    Please fix the app. It won’t even let me log in. Why are you not getting this fixed?

    Adding to this review. I like the concept of Cove. I like the $5 credit towards equipment that I get each month. The system is decent.
    The app is garbage. The website is also garbage. It’s absolutely absurd that the company isn’t making any effort to make it better. I think we’ll start looking at switching systems.
