Description of Worrydolls

Worrydolls gives you a small doll who is ready to listen to what is worrying you. Tell your worry to the doll, then track it over time. You can use Worrydolls like a journal to help you overcome anxiety and stress. The idea of worrydolls started with the indigenous people of Guatemala. The first worrydoll was given to the princess Ixucane as a special gift from the sun god, with the promise that the worrydoll could handle any worry a person could have. Ever since, tiny worrydolls made leftover cloth have been given to worried people. Whisper a single worry to the worrydoll, and hide it under their pillow. As soon as the worrydoll is told the worry, sorrow, or fear, it takes the burden and carries it from then on. The app works the same way! Just tell a single worry to the Worrydoll, and the Worrydoll will carry it for you. In this way, you can have worrydolls on your phone. When your worry is finished, you can tell the worrydoll that he/she does not need to worry anymore. You can always look back at your old worries to feel a sense of calm. My grandmother gave me tiny worrydolls because I was always worrying as a child. Now, you can have Worrydolls on your phone. I hope that the worrydolls can help you just like they helped me. • Thank you.

I have suffered from Generalised Anxiety disorder for YEARS. Due to not having the financial aid to get professional help from a clinic psychologist. I’ve spent years trying to have my own “mental health / life belt”. My primary issue was overthinking and really bad rumination— this app came out from researching for cheaper alternative self care.

I’ve been loving the app so far, no ads, nothing I could write my inner negative thoughts without feeling like the app is bombarding me to “pay” for added features. I just wanted a place to write my rumination thoughts somewhere. I feel like the doll has no judgements over what I’m writing.

And for the first time I actually cried it felt so good to be honest with my thoughts and not feed had to type something. I highly recommend this app this app is great for late nights insomnia to just write down the thought and when you no longer need the doll it’s in a cute little area where the doll stays to let you know that you’re not longer worrying about the problem.

Thank you so much for making this app!

  • Love it, but maybe autocorrect?

I use my worry dolls quite a lot. I have many on the go and they are really helpful to work through the worries and concerns I have. I like the prompts it gives you when you are finished with a worry and are able to reflect on it.
One thing I find frustrating and actually adds to my anxiety is the lack of autocorrect when typing. I don’t like misspelt things in my entries and I don’t like the incorrect grammar of lowercase ‘I’ etc. but it means I have to go back and correct all my mistakes rather than it autocorrecting the spellings. It’s unusual to have an app that doesn’t do that and I’m not sure why it’s not standard on it.
