Reviews of Open

  • A Great Place to Start

“Re-wiring your nervous system” is a common mantra used by another mindfulness community I’ve been following for years, but I never felt I was making any headway to release trauma and heal old patterns. During my first listen to Open, using one of the walking meditations, I had a huge cathartic release, tears streaming down my face and sobbing knowing that this was it - this is the place in which I will be able to find the peace I have been longing for. I’m left with such a sense of security after each session, it’s quickly become a part of my daily routine! Much love to the open community for providing this space and offerings.
  • Great content, glitchy app

When the app opens, it’s a great experience. Hence the 4 stars. If the content wasn’t great, the reduction would be so much more than that because for every 1 in 5 mornings I open the app to start my routine, nothing loads but the background colors. No content, no search, nada. I’ve updated, reloaded, all that. Nothing works and I don’t have time for it anymore so I move on to other separate yoga and meditation tools. I’m writing this in hopes they’ll see it and fix this because I’m starting to not bother opening it, but I love what it offers (when it shows up). Today is a no-load day. Imagine if you went to your favorite yoga/meditation class and SOMETIMES the door was locked because the teacher didn’t bother to show up.
  • Transformative

Open has changed my relationship to meditation by introducing me to breathwork. This has clicked for me in a way I haven’t found elsewhere — I’ve been using Open consistently for a month, after years using Calm (which I still use for beloved favorites).

If you like the idea of meditation but have struggled with follow through, a monkey mind that can’t seem to still, or if you’re simply curious - I would highly recommend Open.

My meditation journey has been years of fits and starts, but Open has a traction I can’t explain in words: in a month of membership, I’ve somehow meditated for over 1,000 minutes!!
