  • Maybe I’m just too dumb for smart bulbs

    I have 7 smart bulbs. I thought it would be great to just call out to Alexa to turn on living room or bedroom lights. I can’t get them to run smoothly. I grouped the bulbs into living room snd bedroom on the list app. Every time I ask Alexa to turn on bedroom or living room lights, She says I found several. I tell her to turn them all on. She says do you mean AW1003 or whatever the bulb name is.
    She never turns them all on. I can do it from my phone app but I didn’t really want to open up an app to turn on my lights. I thought the voice command would be nice.

    Also my power went out today snd I had some blinking lights. Not all just some. App said they were offline. Ended up deleting all bulbs and adding them again to get the blinking to stop.

    Couldn’t find a way to delete a group without deleting bulbs first so then had to add them again.
    The help feature on this app was no help to me.
    It wasn’t just me. I had my 21 and 25 year old sons trying to figure it out too.

    It’s not easy to use in my opinion. Wish I hadn’t purchased them.

  • Need more controlling options

    The app is ok. But it should have more control on customization. We should be able to customize the lights with the colours we like and the changing speed. The one it has is only leisure mode, but it does not allow not more than that. Once we edit the leisure mode, that’s it no more option to add another set at the same time. We should have been able to add multiple customized colour modes at the same time with separate changing speed.

  • Very good app

    I love this app and the lights. Sometimes a light or two in a group doesn’t respond. I’ve been able to fix that by cycling the power to the light and/or going to the controls for that specific light and turning it on and off. I had one day where we couldn’t control any of our lights. However, updating to a newly released version of iOS fixed that.

  • Awful

    Spent an hour trying to sync two new Smart+ bulbs, and it never worked. The bulbs don’t blink in sync mode as described, and neither ever broadcasted an SSID for the manual sync. The app has poor instructions, what little that is offered are awful videos filled with branding but no real information. After wasting an hour of my life, I tried syncing with the Alexa app... and boom, in seconds they were both synced. Fewer control options, but at least it worked... unlike this app. Apple needs to add a negative stars option.

  • Magical, but missing a critical feature

    Sylvania smart products have basic settings, but they also have “effects” that allow for more complex sequences of events, like having your lights fade from red to blue in a cycle. Unfortunately, effects can’t be referenced in shortcuts, so these special features are generally left unused. I would love to see effects added to the list of options available when creating a shortcut, since this app and is beautifully designed to integrate into Siri as well as other virtual assistants, and I think it’s a shame that effects aren’t already part of the party.

  • Can’t connect to Alexa App?!?!

    I have just downloaded the Sylvannia app, added a smart bulb, but when I try to connect to Alexa app, it goes to a screen that says “if you see this page, you are using a lower version of the app, please upgrade the app.”.

    I just downloaded the app, so it should have the most recent update. Beyond that, I did check abs it is, in fact, the most current release. I also checked the Alexa app, and it too is updated.

    Basically I’m stuck and can’t use the SmartBulbs because they are not so smart. Any help would be appreciated.

  • No Brightness Memory

    The setup is easy and straight forward (at least with my setup), and the app has some good features. I do wish it could interface with HomeKit, but that is more likely a hardware issue than software. My biggest disappointment with the app is that the brightness settings do not seem to the scenes or automations. I set a very low brightness to wind down for the evening and when I run the scene the lights come on at 100%. The color settings also seem to be a bit wonky. I was trying to get an amber color and what looks like it should be amber on the iPhone come out as purple on the bulbs themselves. As I said, some nice features so they thought about what they wanted the app to do, now they need to work on getting the bugs out. It’s a bit infested.

  • No hub required for voice control!

    These Sylvania WiFi bulbs are great. I am using them with Siri Shortcuts to voice control with my IPhone and I gotta say they work very well! The process is done through this app and it allows you to change the color and brightness or turn on and off the bulb/group of bulbs depending on what phrase you register the shortcuts to. I will definitely be buying more!

  • Pairing and GUI

    I commend SYLVANIA for Advance Pairing more being a solid solution when the regular mode pairing didn’t work. I live in an apartment - I assume that’s not helping.

    The UI is great to navigate and looks superb! Perfect for this sort of thing. Perhaps giving little explanations of the present window within the settings of each window would help newbies learn some concepts faster. Moving around is slick and makes sense!

    Bug, possibly: It seems my scenes cannot save the brightness of their saved individual lights. I set a color and brightness and the brightness has jumped to 100% on returning.

  • Easy to use app

    I could see some people could get confused because SYLVANIA has two apps, I used the WiFi app for the WiFi products and it works without issues, beautiful color and works well to replace my regular A19 bulbs
