Hello
Just wanted to let you know how thankful we are to have the VA. My husband has had CRPS for the last twenty plus years. Our doctors just figured there was nothing that could be done. I decided to look into VA. Am so glad I did that. They took him on. When they started testing him they found Lung Cancer and Colon Cancer. He is in VA Care now and is feeling better. We had 40 radiation/Chem treatments. Then for the lungs we had 5 - 40 min radiation treatments. A little break. Tuesday back to Chemo thru a port. That will last for 6 months.
Thanks to VA for being there for him.

Keeping Veterans Informed!!!!!
The Veterans Administration since the dawn of time have been the back bone 🦴 of the military services.
Regardless of the Branches in Question 🙋.
I know personally that for the most everything the VA receive is either second hand 🖐, or out dated. FACT!!!!!!!!
I rate The Veterans Administration with a 10 Stars ⭐️. Because, even though The Employees, Contractors, Management, etc. , struggles every day trying to maintain a smile 😊 while working under poor conditions, and being under paid.
These people come to work everyday knowing it’s going to be and up hill battle to provide the products, and services needed. Not just for veterans, but for everyone that’s sick 😷, ill, and needing medical assistance.
Thank You 🙏🏾, everyone around the world 🌎 that’s related to The Veterans Administration. I know my Thanking You want be enough that will resolve all the negative issues going on in The VA.
Maybe, this is a START, You are always welcome 🤗 in my heart ❤️.
Keep up the excellent work, Recognition is coming know that You haven’t been forgotten.

Unjust Compensation
This review is in honor of my thousands of fellow brothers in arms whom wrote a blank check payable to the USA for an amount of and up to our lives hoping to someday be recognized and properly compensated for our hidden sacrifices that to this day remains unknown to those leading from the comfort of offices and command centers, making horrible decisions over whom and what should and shouldn’t be compensated.
It’s been nearly 20 years since my retirement and even though the military knew by documentation that my injury is present and would get worse as time goes by, nothing was said to me because of my ignorance and not complaining for my injuries. Instead I preferred to hold my pain in and soldier as I was expected to do.
Unless members of the Compensation Approval Boar has been in my shoe, they can never know how much one is hurting inside.
My mental state is heading towards so much anger and disappointment towards the way how said services are handled that my darkest thought have been surfacing on a regular basis.

App.
What I’ve noticed here is a lot of veterans complaining about the VA instead of sharing their experiences using the app and discussing its performance. That’s the reason for this review page. The app is very basic and straightforward. It helps me access every bit of information I need. I would love to see the non-service-connected claim moved to a different tab, with all service-connected claims grouped together. Other than that, the app serves its purpose and does its job well. To my fellow vets, there is a hotline you can call if you are not getting the treatment you deserve forward all you issues to them. An app review page is not the place.

Too secure to login
I needed access to app today but couldn’t sign in. I changed my password which signed me in just to have to use another device to use the camera to activate the QR on my other device and it says i don’t have the passkey that i can physically see on both device’s password manager. Now, they say i have to delete my account and recreate it. BUT, that takes 24 hours be it lets you initiate the deletion process via email. And who knows how long it takes to recreate the account again. So not only cant i access it today which i needed its is going to be multiple days before i can potentially access again. This is by far, the dumbest 2 step verification method process ever developed. I can’t image how many older vets or spouses just give up. All other apps that have my sensitive data use 2 step authentication but none of them are this ate up. This is the soup sandwich equivalent to password security. Unbelievable.

Great Service and Improvement
VA has always been responsive and helpful. Their improvements have increased over the past 18 years that I have had the privilege to be provided with their support. I have found that if you have a service connected disability and disability rating that authorizes you care, the VA takes very great care of you. If you are just a Veteran served and did not retire and/or has no service connected disabilities and you try to get healthcare, this is not a free lunch and you are not covered. This is where most complaints come in giving VA a bad rap. People do not understand that VA is for service connected disabilities and not a free healthcare for all veterans just because you served. VA services those with service connected disabilities very, very well. I spoke to a few veterans at local VA hospital mad because they couldn’t be seen. They were trying to treat it like sick call and were complaining by shouting “I served and they will not take care of me”. They should have retired or did their due diligence before they separated like all of us did and got rated or see/filed a claim versus just going to VA like a urgent care or emergency room and then taking it out in the VA staff complaining. It is these who give VA a bad name and they are not even authorized to use these services.
Great job VA.

VA app/myhealthevet
I like and use both the VA app and the myhealthevet website. I refer to it a lot for Rx refills, etc. My only peeve is with the appointment listings. The vast majority of my listed upcoming appointments don’t tell me WHO I have an appointment with. It tells me when the appointment is and whether or not it’s virtual or in-person…but most of the time I have no idea who the appointment is with. Every now and then it does include that information but, largely speaking, it doesn’t. I do receive the appointment reminders in the mail and most of the time the reminder lists who I have the appointment with - but not always. It would save paper and time if the app gave all the necessary information about upcoming appointments.

Services beyond the call of duty
I truly believe the VA and its associated team of doctors are committed to helping and treating veterans that are in need of professional assistance. Doctors and staff members form a connection that eases the tensions normally associated with visiting a clinic or hospital. Especially for us veterans who are apprehensive of seeking assistance.
Thank you for your service and support by providing a safe environment and a healthy cultural experience. In this case, I want to recognize Dr. Melissa Gonzalez at the Murrieta, CA branch for her excellent and exceptional expertise in providing optimal treatment in her field of expertise. I am truly grateful and honored to have her as my doctor. She is thorough, thoughtful, patient and caring. In addition, she’s a proud professional in her field and I am thankful that she committed herself of becoming the doctor she is today.
Than you!

Appointments Not Showing
This app is a game changer! I would give it 5 stars but in the last few months my appointments stopped populating in the App. I was using it to add my appointments directly to my calendar and to keep me on track. With all of the different appointments, times and dates it gets very confusing very quickly. If you can please fix the Appointments functionality on the App I would sincerely appreciate it.
Besides the appointments the App is outstanding. I use it to see the status of my claims, track and refill my prescriptions, message my providers, download letters, and even track my payments history. Once the appointment functionality is working again I would say that this is one of, if not the most, important App on my phone.

Convenient But Not Private
I love the convenience of the app for many things but I limited and somewhat censored my communications with my doctor once I learned that other people I work with through other programs in the the VA were privy to and reading them. These people are not health professionals and should not have any access to private conversations regarding my health that I was under the impression we’re protected. It was extremely weird to find out and I immediately decided to wait until appointments to discuss things. It’s unfortunate because it’s a mental health professional and we had a great rapport. Not only that but apparently an assistant type of employee reads them before the doctor does as well, and they go into your medical records. This may be fine and even customary, but not something I’m comfortable with.
