Unique & Accessible

Youโ€™ll always know when you need to โ€œupdateโ€ because youโ€™ll have trouble logging in. (2) I do wish there were a downloading document โ€œSF256โ€ for โ€œSchedule Aโ€ hiring authority. This is a very important document that can be googled but can also be difficult to find without informative OPM office support. PLEASE consider ADDing โ€œSF256โ€ FALLIBLE .pdf and โ€œSF-15โ€ for veterans seeking federal career opportunities. I donโ€™t know what section it would be a part of or maybe a new section for federal employment info. Something simple. Short but sweet. Maybe even โ€œNon-competitiveโ€ brochure info?

Veteran experience

Here is a sample review for the VA app that helps veterans access their healthcare and benefits information:

As a veteran, I have been using the VA app for a few months, and I have found it to be incredibly helpful. The app has made it much easier for me to access my healthcare and benefits information, as well as schedule and manage my appointments.

One of the things I love about the app is the convenience it provides. I no longer have to wait on hold for long periods of time or navigate through a complicated phone tree to get the information I need. Instead, I can quickly and easily access my healthcare and benefits information right from my phone.

Another great feature of the app is the notifications. I receive alerts when it's time for my appointments, and I can easily reschedule or cancel if necessary. The app also provides reminders to refill my prescriptions, which has been incredibly helpful.

Overall, I highly recommend the VA app to any veteran who wants to simplify their healthcare and benefits management. It's easy to use, reliable, and provides all the information and tools I need to stay on top of my health and wellness. Thank you, VA, for creating such an excellent app for veterans!

Must Have but needs fixes

No vet can navigate the system with out this app. Assists with appointments & service connected. The update fails in two major areas: #1 the Self Profile for records access. PRO: They moved it to the front which was smart. CON/FAIL #1 the VA removed the link to obtain your proof of service and disability. #2 Service Connected Application. PRO - you can see your status. CON / FAIL - they removed the ability to upload supporting Docs to your application. FAIL #2 they added the GIBILL application process for self and dependents here. It should be separate page and dedicated process. FAIL #3. Zero support for community care health programs. FAIL #4 zero support for the State Veterans Benefits Offices.

VA and Professionalism

The Nurse practitioner I had for years all she gave me was Ibuprofen; this allows the VA to deny claims of pain and disability. When they are dismissive of injury and pain. And do fairly nothing to resolve issues, but destroys your organs instead. My new physician is better, but the VA is still lacking in what is will do for veterans heath. I walked around with a broken clavicle and had to get rotator cuff surgery, for a while and nobody saw it. Had to see an out side Dr. , saw an out aside neurology Dr for head issues, still fighting the VA for his diagnosis. The VA is all about not paying the veteran. Trying to find ways to not give you money. Adding back dated clames and increased percentage but it went back 10 yrs where the back dated pay??

Is anyone else missing the "claims" link in their app?

I go to check the status of my claim today and notice that the icon that directs me to my claims status page isn't there anymore. It tells me what my percentage is and how it breaks down but nothing about pending claims or appeals. Is it just me or will we not be able to access that information via this app anymore? It's a feature I used specifically because it was convenient, not to mention faster, than using a pc. How about putting our c-files online so we can access those as well? It would save an astronomical amount of time as well as material such as cd's, paper and all that logistical stuff that takes place when a Veteran requests their file. Just a thought. Hopefully this isn't a permanent thing. We need a "one stop does all" portal to use and it would be nice to have them in sync with each other. It would also be nice to remove all these third party apps that keep Veterans information on servers with poor security protocols. Lol this started as a question and turned into a rant. Hard not to do when talking about the bureaucracy that is the Veterans Benefits Administration.

Use the VA app-itโ€™s easy!

I am a 74 year old disabled vet, and I use the VA app several times a week. It notifies me when I have a message from my Primary Care Team. It also keeps track of upcoming appointments, and allows me to reorder prescriptions. I can also see test results. I even use the app to check in when I arrive for an appointment. I used to spend a fair amount of time calling the VA toll free number to do those things, but now I do most of those things on the app. It works, and itโ€™s easy!

Prescription Refills and Tracking

With today update, supposedly we should be able to do refills and do tracking. I updated the VA app but I donโ€™t see this functionality. Deleted the app and reinstalled it but nothing. Besides that I love this app. Checked the app today and the refills and tracking functionality is working great. Now if we can check our medical records this app will be amazing. Great job developers.

Great app! A lot simpler to check messages, Appointments and now refill and track medication. It will be a 10 Stars if I could check my medical health records.

App tech issues

Every single time you launch a so-called improvement, you create issues with logging into the app!!! This is garbage especially when people have been using this app for years! Iโ€™ve been using the app since 2017 or 2018! Iโ€™m beyond tired of this happening every single time! You send me into crisis mode! Itโ€™s very triggering when technology doesnโ€™t work as it should, especially when people no longer like to interface with people in person or over the phone! Your phone tech support is not very supportive at all.

Iโ€™m feeling lucky!

Iโ€™ve been using the VA health system for several years and have been fortunate enough to also have been able to use the existing medical infrastructure outside of the VA.
I am feeling very grateful for having the opportunity to use the VA medical system. I find it easy to navigate, and the people I have worked with have all been exceptional and their commitment to service and as far as I can see their qualifications are as good as any other health system, Iโ€™ve ever been, and worked in or had access to.
In all honesty, I think our country would be well served to have this level of care available as a citizen of the United States.

Apple PDF/Windows & outlook

I am dispersed, unable to get to a real computer. I have an iPad but itโ€™s very sad when you canโ€™t get windows to be compatible with Appleโ€™s really secure hacking system and Windows can be hacked. I canโ€™t get a PDF file from the military because theyโ€™re not compatible using windows. This is very frustrating because they want the PD file and I canโ€™t even download it from the server off of my iPhone or my iPad to say to be highly prioritize and be compatible with Apple
