  • Misfit merger murdered the app usability

So I know the merger with Misfit Market has been in the works, and they’ve slowly been transitioning things over for awhile now, but this app update, or change over, or whatever is horrible. Navigating it is now very frustrating. Things load incorrectly, or not at all, and a lot of the pictures or print are too small or blurry. However, I think my favorite glitch is when you go to the “Contact Us” tab on the bottom menu bar, it takes you to a mostly white page that has a dismissible link awkwardly placed at the bottom that directs you to the App Store to download the app… the very app that you very much already have and are currently in so you find yourself stuck in an endless loop of app-ception… so that’s fun. It’s especially fun when you are trying to reach someone because you didn’t realize the order window had been moved up, and for some reason your auto-filled order is almost three times the amount of the plan limit you have selected and you need to cancel it asap. Please just bring the old app interface back, and maybe just update it with some options or features that came with this merger if necessary.
  • New update made things way less user friendly

I’ve been an imperfect foods customer for at least two years and turned many people onto this subscription box but this new update makes me want to cancel my membership altogether… Nothing ever loads properly, it’s very small, pictures never come through, a lot of lag and clicks don’t take you where you wanna be. Much harder to use than previous versions. I am unfortunately probably going to cancel my subscription as it is now so frustrating to navigate.
  • Frustrating now that it merged with misfits

App doesn’t work, can’t contact the help because all versions of those links are broken and not working. No one to call, no way to email. When you are in the cart to order you can’t see the full title of what is in the cart and there is no option to click on it to see it larger. When you are in the version of the cart that allows you to click on it to see what it is you can’t update it… what is that about. It’s a total mess right now.
  • DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS

I had to join (and add credit card) to see what was offered and prices. I had to wait until the next Friday to see that, and what I could order. Friday morning when I realized I would pay more than local shopping I immediately tried to cancel my account, but their FAQ’s and instructions for self canceling don’t work, so I emailed their customer service Friday, with no response and Tuesday my card was charged for what they auto put in my cart. This company is non-responsive and has my credit card information. Update: They did finally contact me back and refunded my money. They also went ahead and sent me the order that was placed from their auto selections, so I felt it was a fair, albeit late, ending.

  • Latest updates

Been using Imperfect Foods for a couple of years. App update in most recent release needs some fixes:
    1) Writing and pictures are way too small. I cannot read anything on my phone without my glasses on.
    2) When I click on an item to learn more about it and then return to the previous screen with the list, I am somewhere between 5 and 25 items further down the list and must scroll up to find where I was
    3) it took me a few tries at navigating before I found the pictures to click to see full lists of items by category. The default views and the curated sections omitted a lot of available groceries. Perhaps this is by design, but I didn’t understand
    4) the app stopped updating a times, and new screens appeared blank. I had to close and reopen the app to see these screens. The main one was my cart, where I wanted to verify my choices
    5) my previous recurring items selections appear to be gone. My previous never items appear to be gone. I don’t know how to reset these options. It was frustrating to lose out on some favorite items I would expect to have in my cart automatically
    6) not due to update, but I would like the option to prevent automatic cart filling each week. There are always items that I don’t want, and on more than one occasion, I forgot to check the cart to remove auto selections that I don’t want
  • Abysmal Accessibility for Blind Users

I love the mission of this service, but their website and app design is absolutely atrocious for us blind VoiceOver users. The latest update has massive accessibility regressions and failures across the board, including not letting me know exactly what items each "Add" button is adding when shopping through the lists. The app is also just a web view instead of a native app, showing lazy design with no attention to detail on the interactive differences between website patterns and native mobile patterns. The app was usable before this latest update despite some ongoing accessibility issues, but this latest update has completely blocked me from being able to independently shop and get my weekly items. Always awful when accessibility is either totally ignored or is just an afterthought by a company, especially one so focused on sustainability.
  • New App Experience

I found the previous app design to be significantly more user-friendly. The new app design is awful. There is no search feature (that I could find, after searching high & low on the app - pun intended), which means that if I’m looking for a specific item, I have to go digging through multiple pages and sub-categories…not to mention the specific item I’m looking for may not even be available on a given week, resulting in tons of wasted time. What was previously a quick and rather seamless grocery shopping experience now takes a lot longer. I also get the distinct impression that Imperfect is trying to manipulate me into purchasing more items by forcing me to scroll through every single option while looking for one bloody thing, which just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Please bring back the search functionality!
  • New update

This new update took a perfectly fine application and turned it into a disaster of an experience. It is now comprised of multiples pages with every item being it’s own card, making the navigation painful on the eyes and clunky. Bugs all over the place as well for example asking my age for wine but then allowing me to add to cart after moving to another page and then back to the wine page. Crashes as well as white screen upon reopening the application. To top it all off it now takes everything about 15 seconds to load the whole page and even longer for all the pictures. Navigating across pages also has significant lag time. Fantastic work really.
  • Any unhappy issues are my own not Imperfect Produce

I have been a customer for over two years, maybe 3 and any issues such as not liking automatic fill items, overcharging, forgetting to order or skip etc are issues that the app gives you every opportunity to rectify. The company has been wonderful about skipping and order if caught in time, credits, and answering any concerns I have ever had. I have to put a disclaimer in here in that I am very forgetful and get busy so miss my date but that has been my fault because IP sends texts as reminders and does everything they can to help you avoid this, all of which I appreciate. My biggest complaint is the ripeness and the size one often receives in produce. Many times I have ordered avocados which were the size of silver dollars with no meat and all seed, fennel that is the same ultra small size, pears that were so hard as to be a week away from ripening, etc. On the flipside, I have been please with the spices, the cheese selections, the butter, the fish, the olive oil, and many other items I have chosen. I love the mission of the company and after working in a wholesale capacity in grocery stores seeing the amount of perfectly fine food thrown away daily in stores, I feel this little bit I can do to save food from the dumpster is well worth the effort I must place in this process with IP. Keep up the good work and sourcing fun products….and thanks for your vision.
