Direct Express Card
It is so easy to get your benefits on here - without using your bank - even using a smart phone app - simple to log in, update or change and it is amazing how “fast” a card is updated - ordered express , of course a charge but so worth it was at my home delivered by a qualified mail carrier (direct express even allowed the “tracking” number - was at my home delivered in enclosed thick carrier legal size envelope - easy to update info and do pin - this is how modern day access is to work - effecient, easy to use and understand!!

Could be better
I wish we could see how much our balance is before and after each transaction. I wish it would say what transaction were canceled and now just show it as a card purchase like it does now. I was at a store a few days ago and the cashier had no idea what she was doing. She tried to charge me twice for 2 different items that I already paid for but since they were gift cards, the computer wouldn’t let her charge me for them again and the transaction was cancelled. I looked at the receipt and told her she’s trying to charge me twice for the 2 cards and it’s shows on my account on here that it was a card purchase. It should say “cancelled card purchase” or “cancelled purchase. It’s hard trying to figure out what my balance was before several card purchases and to be sure I wasn’t charged for something that was canceled. The app needs work.

Don't like it
Had to downloaded app bc I had so much problems trying to log in to website. Just to update new card. Called customer service, they were either too busy to answer even when I let it ring for over 2+ hrs.. Or I'd get a "Due to high volume of calls, please call back at a not so busy time". Umm how'd I know when/what time would that be? Account blocked, call customer service which took weeks of trying to get someone to answer. Then being told they changed web address, my browser went to exact same page I was on. Another week of hoping someone answered--I just wanted to know why my log in not working? Same hrs of letting phone ring till batteries almost need charging, when explaining my problem, get transferred to another dept" only to get disconnected, or having to repeat why I called. After almost a month, CS finally tells me my acct was locked & will reset it so I can enter updated info. I don't know how that could've happened, when I was able to log in before. If this is an updated app, wish it had the options tabs like the website, this just shows balance & recent card usage. No money transfer options. Sry for the lengthy review, but stress & frustration was longer.

Direct Express App
I think this app was pretty straight forward but I moved my benefits to the providers debit card because I wanted access to my check faster there is nothing wrong with this app in fact if you withdrew to much it probably wouldn’t never go negative to much because there is security features that don’t let a person do that so it’s ok if your in a fixed income or you need something to get your kid or something on earning their own money or someone with a disability or however you want to put it. I just wish they gave you more I mean as of 2023 they give you $914 I mean I pay rent out of that and my cellular and then by the time that’s said and done I only have $200 so people are sort of taking advantage of my check that I got into certain situations and I hope the government fixes that in a couple of years because it’s not quite fair for an individual to have nothing!! They do have opportunities to make money while in SSI but it’s not enough! (They take a cut out out of that after making a certain dollar amount);but the overall app is smooth when you get paid on the 1st it’s always there so can’t really complain…they do have times when their service is down for maintenance etc and that can be frustrating but I don’t think any of that impacted my moves with money on my actual account; just couldn’t see it for a while. Other than that half decent app(everything you buy is on display) so not bad!!

Card Holder
I’ve had so many problems with this app and this card. I can’t even get a hold of customer service phone number doesn’t even give me an option to talk to anybody, but it will ask for my Social Security number and other credentials and then tells me that I can’t find my account I’ve done updates. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing is working my passwords keep changing along with my user ID. I feel that. This app has jeopardize my account. I can’t even see how much missing it seems the last time I was able to get in on it money spent it I can’t account for this app is junk and very disappointing for which I have been unable to contact any representatives to help me on this I have no access to my money.

Avoid if you use Direct Express
I’ve been hacked several times this year while using this app. I’ve password protected everything yet mysterious charges keep appearing on my account. When I’ve “tried” to call Direct Express about it they either make me wait for DAYS before answering my calls or they hang up on me. This is supposed to be a customer service outlet for our social security system and this tells me that Direct Express can’t be trusted and they don’t have any kind of security to protect their customers. I highly recommend that everyone who’s using Direct Express switch to a non-online bank before your social security money completely disappears!!!

I am so glad that I can see my account on my phone and my iPad now I was trying for a long time and it doesn’t work so thank u all for letting me get into my account and see where my money goes to help me a lot I don’t have to wait for the end of the month for my bank statement to come in the mail I can see it on my phone thank u again

DirectExpress review
I love DirectExpress, but the only thing I don’t like is you can’t lock it to keep people from stealing your money from you. So it would be nice to have it to where you could lock it, so maybe one day they will fix it so you can. I have a cash app card that I also use and it has a lock on it so just anyone cannot steal your money, maybe DirectExpress will fix there’s that way. God Bless, Patti..

Love the app…however
I really do like this app. It’s very simple to use. However, there is one thing I feel needs to be addressed. That is when you go to log out, directly above the log out tab is the “delete account” tab. Although the letters in that tab are red, it is extremely easy to mistakenly tap that tab first. Perhaps the tabs should be reversed with the “delete account” tab placed
at the bottom.

Unsatisfactory
After receiving a replacement card I cannot update this information
Even after speaking with customer service, in-installing and re- installing app it is not registering my information being submitted further more after uninstalling and reinstalling app why does it STILL have previous info from old CANCELED card still showing? Is this why I can’t add my new card to this corrupt app? What other faulty mishandling of vital information is this ratchet app responsible for?
I don’t think it’s secure nor safe enough to add any of your information to such unprofessionally managed
