  • Don’t waste your time

    If you actually take time and read reviews before downloading an app then please take note after meeting all the requirements for an advance, IE bank account over 6 years old, weekly income of over $600 with direct deposit, employed by same employer for 10 years, etc etc without running a credit check they still deny everyone they pull you in with the enticement of an advance after a trial period they start billing your account for somewhere around $3-$4 weekly with the continuing promise of try back in a few days and you should be approved. It’s a scam and how they rack up the income for them. Picture this 3,000 people sign up and 3,000 people denied after a week they bill that’s 9-12k income for them without shelling out a dime obviously more than 3k have signed up and are billed weekly. It’s a huge scam do not waste you time

  • Trying To Repay Loan and Can’t

    I gave this app a 1 star because my due date was on the 5 th of September and this is going on the 10th of September my problem is that they haven’t took there payment out on the due date which was the 5 th and now they extended it to the 10 th of September ion really know what is going on with this app and why they haven’t took there $17 outta my account but I’m definitely deleting this app and won’t ever be using it again because something is definitely not right about this app and I look up a number for them and they have so many different numbers you really don’t really know which one to call or even if they have a real number to call why they haven’t gotten there payment ion don’t no or have a clue but this app. I definitely wouldn’t down load even though they wave the bank connection fees for at least 88 days, I’m just not trust Credit Genie and that’s just my personal opinion and they keep pushing the payment date back farther and farther and that’s not cool by me not at all so I’m deleting forever. And let’s not forget I emailed them and no response back what so ever and that was a couple days ago how long do it take you all to action respond back to a customer when it comes to business so very unprofessional and ion like it so yes I believe this app is definitely not legit.

  • WORST advance app!

    Out of all the cash/pay advance app I have ever used! The first few advances went fine but something went terribly wrong at the 3rd time I paid the advance back. First, my direct deposit was a few hours delayed for some reason so the repayment took 7 banking days to update, so then after the repayment finally settled I went to pull the advance again & it says my bank was disconnected & it said it was too soon to reconnect?? Well I then waited till the next day & attempted again, same message appeared! So here I am idk how long now it’s been since my payment settled & still can’t reconnect, but wait there is MORE! So earlier this week & now I think a month has passed since repayment; it says that my account was deactivated & I must contact support! No, lol I’m done with this app! Just don’t even guys unless it’s a HAVE TO SITUATION!

  • Stay far away

    This app is horrible. I downloaded this app April because I was short on money. I thought it was a good app until I got my second advance. I have had some unexpected bills come up and I can’t afford to repay the company back. Their policy is that the date of repayment falls on the date that you get your paycheck. I have reached out to them multiple times about this issue and they keep saying the automated message that your payment is going to be repaid on Friday and don’t worry we will not overdraft your bank account. That they would reschedule the repayment if the date of your paycheck and the date of repayment don’t line up. Seems like they send out this automated message. They only care about their money. Plus their “customer service” is a joke. They don’t get back to you in a timely manner. If you do respond to their emails you have to wait for a response. It ends up resetting time and date you sent the response. So you have no choice but to wait for them to “respond”. It’s the same automated response. No we are sorry for this. No how can we help you. This app needs to be shut down and everyone who has downloaded this app should be refunded. I have let the better business bureau know that this has happened. This is ridiculous. Stay away

  • Stupid App

    I have been using this app for some time now and everything was sweet at first. I was able to qualify for the $100 advance and would use it whenever I was in need of money. I never had a problem paying it back on time either. I received an email stating that my advance was paid off and as I went to login, it told me that my account was permanently disabled. I was confused so I contacted support and they told me the same thing. I have never did anything wrong or violated any terms and conditions for them to delete my account. I have always paid everything on time and I hardly ever used the app to do anything but take an advance. I would not waste a second of your time to download this app. It’s very unprofessional and it will disconnect your bank account or it will disable your account for nothing.

  • Total waste of $4.99/month

    I had high hopes for this app, but after checking my advance availability every single day for over a month and then sporadically for a month and then consistently for a couple of weeks I’ve never been approved for an advance even tho I meet all the requirements, my checking account is over a year old which is more than the 3 months they require and it’s never been negative. But I am self employed so I don’t have the $600 in payroll direct deposits required to be approved. But not everyone gets paid through a payroll department. When you’re making cash doing side jobs/gigs/hustles you’re penalized apparently because you have chosen to work outside of the societal approved box of employment. It’s a shame. So after wasting several bucks over the course of a few months I’m done with this app. It could have been great if they didn’t want to do like the rest of society and pigeon-hole you into conformity.

  • Poor customer service

    So, I stumbled upon credit genie after a google search. I decided to give them a try and qualified instantly for an advance. The process of qualifying and getting the deposit was fairly easy. Fee was low. My problem occurred when my debit card was compromised and was cancelled ( the one used) to have the 4.99 fee taken out. I immediately contacted Credit Genie to let them know and they reassured me that it would be debited from my checking account which it was. Payment not late and completed without any issues. However, since reaching out and letting them know about the compromised card I have not been able to update the new card. I have made several attempts to reach out to credit genie and have not been given any direct answers other than them telling me I cancelled the account with them. I have not cancelled anything. I requested proof they failed to provide proof and now tell me they can not reinstate the account for 60 days. Well it’s unfortunate for them there are a multitude of similar companies out there empower, money lion, Vola, brigit, Cleo etc. I will not chase down any given company. It’s apparent they don’t want my business. Be careful and be aware of a company who lacks transparency and does not strive for superb customer service. You have been warned!

  • Discriminatory against LGBTQIA

    Submitting a complaint via BBB. I messaged 4-5 days ago about a name change and received a response three days later from Darcie. Darcie assumed that my spouse was a male and offered to change the information on file if I provided “his” name and my name and information. I responded, correcting her and provided the information. I had to wait TWO extra days to get a response and as expected they told me they couldn’t change my name because the account was created. Why didn’t they say this in the beginning? Prejudiced practice with micro-aggressions towards a gay/queer person. Really bad experience. No explanation as to why they said they could and then said they couldn’t. The apology was dismissive and they referred to it as a “mishap”. A mishap is a mistake. You don’t “mistakenly” assume the gender of someone’s spouse. You consciously do that. This is literally 2024. Not inclusive at all.

  • Preying on those who are financially unstable

    I downloaded this app and was not accepted for an advance which is fine but they then went ahead to charge me for literally nothing. They offered me nothing and still took my money when they know the only people who use this app are those who are struggling financially. They are a predatory company feeding off of people who are desperate for money and rather than help us, they just take more money from us that we don’t have. Had they actually supplied me with the service I downloaded the app for in the first place I would be fine with the 5$ charge. But to charge me money for something you didn’t even do while also knowing I don’t have any money is actually evil and I wish nothing but the worst for anyone who is involved in their scam of a service.
