I hate Wex cards

I miss my HSA card so badly I’d be willing to show my loyalty and love for them by throwing myself off a bridge. For 10 years I never NOT ONCE had to show a receipt! Not Once was a ever harassed or had my card shut off due to payment of medical bills all because they didn’t get a piece of paper that kills our planet! And wex, you can clearly see who the payment goes to and who it was for!!!!! Not Once did I have have to stress with the HSA! Wex has caused me more pain, more stress, more tears than the HSA card ever has. They new their job and did it. I never had to do it for them like a child having to show work for a math problem. And I hate how I have to write this review because I’m not this person who complains. But when you try to steal MY MONEY because you want a receipt. You are pushing your limits and your place. Do your job. Look it up yourself.

Sketchy at best

Unreliable. Claims denied that are purely health items. Awful.

Issues

The app itself isn’t bad-pretty user friendly. The difficult part has been dealing with getting medical/dental/prescription charges actually covered when using the card or submitting for reimbursement. Even if a receipt showing payment to IU Health Hospital system on behalf of my daughter who is a minor-they will deny it unless you have the exact EOB or and Itemized bill to submit.
Through all the medical issues we are dealing with for my daughter-It is very inconvenient to have to dig through all the info to find or call to obtain a detailed bill to “prove” her health illness and hospital stay charges.

Very odd app with limited options and information

I've been using this app for about three years, and it must be improved for customers. The odd thing is that you can’t see all your transactions on this app because it’s only visible to Wex customer service, which is strange. I have to do it manually and pull this info from my paycheck. Lol 🤷‍♀️ The main menu has very limited options for selecting additional info. Unfortunately , you can’t see all transactions in real time.
In my opinion, all payment options should be visible to the customer, and it should be like a short version of a bank statement because we use the benefit card as a credit card, but the options are limited. Hope you will improve the app and we don’t need to waist time and call to customer service. for the small reason. Thank you

App is fine, WEX is horrible

I have had such bad experiences with WEX, their customer service is horrible, left on hold for 45+ minutes, then hung up on. Representatives telling me they have set up a reimbursement just for me to call back a month later after not receiving it to find out it was never set up. Denied Medical reimbursements with all of the correct paperwork submitted for a covered service. Their Transit card doesn’t work on two of the largest transportation systems in the US, MTA in New York City, and NJ Transit - forcing you to do reimbursements instead of using the card which they have provided. I can not recommend highly enough that you question your HR department if they speak about transitioning to this company for Health and Transportation benefits.

Easy to upload, wish we could use card at time of scheduling

This app makes it so easy to upload recipes for childcare and get reimbursed. I use it for day camps in the summer. It would be great to get reimbursed faster. I think it takes 3-7 days. Wex also requires we wait to be reimbursed until the end of camp dates. It would also be amazing to use the card to pay for camps at time of registration because so many camps require full payment at time of registration.

It’s very expensive to pay large lump sums in advance to secure care for the whole summer. Camps fill up months in advance, so we have a lot of money going out in the Spring beyond our typical budget. The reimbursement at time of registration would greatly help, so we stay within our means while ensuring childcare. Then I would know I can give my work availability over the summer with confidence while knowing my kids have good care.

Also, Wex seems to be only thinking of neurotypical aged kids for the reimbursement they offer. The age limit ought to be expanded for reimbursement. Older children and teens with special needs need camps or an individual to care for them into high school and even adulthood age. Kids with special needs require more financial resources in general, so please increase the age. Please don’t ask if the child has a special need bc people shouldn’t have to disclose that private information.

Mostly ok app

The app is ok but there are some things that I have trouble with. No matter how many times I try to enable FaceID it asks me again whenever I log in. Also, when I’m trying to reimburse myself for dependent care the categories it requires me to choose from are confusing. I see “Child Daycare” and “Nanny meals and lodging” but not standard baby sitting or nanny care.

I do like that it lets me add my card to Apple wallet and the scan feature is nice for checking if a product is likely to be eligible for HSA use.

The worst FSA provider I’ve experienced

Nearly every transaction requires a receipt. Uploading a receipt is pure pain. You have to stare at a 1-3 minute “loading” wheel after every click just to upload a receipt. Think you’ll just put the phone down and come back in a minute? Think again. The system will log you out. It will then forget your login credentials, and won’t identify itself to your password manager so you have to manually search for the credentials, then you enable Face ID only to realize that it didn’t remember that setting again the next time you log in. The worst app i have installed on my phone, no question

App loads in portrait mode and will not rotate, it is frozen

Within the last several weeds the mobile app has started opening up in the portraits mode and freezes there, it will not rotate to the horizontal mode. All other apps will rotate if I wish. My problem is that when entering data the screen is then on a different axis than the attached typewriter keyboard that I use. Customer service knows nothing of this. I use Apple products and they ran tests and believer they software of the app has been updated for the iPhone and not the ipad. I use the ipad. As I said CS at DBI is total unaware of how to redolve theses issues, and were not even aware of then. I will try to contact the supervisory level and let them know. In other aspects the app is working, but there are certainly features that I would improve.

Massive Usability Decline

I’ve been using this app exclusively for several years; it mostly has worked flawlessly. Especially when using EOB documents from Cigna. Now all of a sudden, in February of 2024 it won’t work at all for me. Thinking it might be a recent iOS update that has thrown the app off somehow, but it’s gone from great to horrible.

I’ve submitted two claims so far for this year and it worked as it always has, flawlessly. The last two claims I’ve tried to submit either act as if they’ve completed, but don’t show in the log of claims and don’t subtract the amount of the claim from my available balance. Or the app just suddenly closes at the point I touch the ‘Pay’ button and all of the claim information that was input is gone. I’ve filed a case number with Wex but the representatives that I’ve spoke with seem ambivalent to the whole issue, candidly. Very disappointing and frustrating to have something g that works so easily for an otherwise tedious process, suddenly go so bad. I hope it will get resolved!!
