  • This app is garbage

First off, they take forever to take the money out of your bank account, even after it says that the payment was successful on the toyota app. it’s hard not to feel like this was purposefully put in place to get people to accidentally spend money that should have already been taken out of your account, because then your transaction will cancel due to insufficient funds and they get to make money for late payments, interest, etc.
Second, the buttons are horrible and you have to tap multiple times to exit out of tabs and pop ups. this app is just terrible and i’ve done my fair share of digging and i found that many people are fed up as well. i don’t know if toyota directly runs this app or if there’s a partnered third party but either way they need to fix up because this is people’s money that they’re playing with. Just about ready to file a lawsuit

  • App not user friendly

I am not very pleased with the Toyota Financial Services App. I setup an automatic payment onto a different bank account months ago, which was confirmed by app, and it did not setup correctly due to sluggishness and malfunctioning. This caused two months worth of missed payments. The app does not allow for text messages to alert you if there is an issue with payment, or if payment was processed successfully (a feature which most companies today regularly offer). I am setting up an automatic payment again, but due to the unreliability of the app, I am forced to verify through an agent on the Toyota Financial Services Customer service line that the app/account are correct this time. I also had to setup email/text alerts through customer service. The app, in my opinion, needs a thorough overhaul, or it is designed this way intentionally by Toyota and its subsidiaries to cause unnecessary/unwarranted fees to accrue for profit.

  • App is ok need a lot of work

So I wanna start off by saying the app is OK but need some kind of work with your monthly payment. Should be at zero once you pay that payment off specially early. also, on the homepage of the app, we shouldn’t have to go through a bunch of process to see how much interest was pulled, and how much went towards the initial payment. if you guys can show us what the payoff amount is on the front of the homepage you should be able to show us how much interest was pulled out on that payment on the same homepage. also, Toyota is the only one that takes forever to take their money. You guys need to speed up the process with that and it’s not the bank. also, when we pay our bill, you have multiple options. Specially if someone is behind, you should include the late fee like every other finance company does the app needs to be just a little bit more efficient people want to press less buttons to find information and I always never understood why there’s not an option to pay a car payment with a debit card. It’s kind of ridiculous that we have to depend on a routing number and the account number and you guys take forever to pull out the money specially if I make the payment, like on a Thursday

  • Over charge

I was told by the dealership that I wouldn’t have any penalties or interest on the loan until the first payment because I was going to pay it off in one shot. When I received the first payment I paid off the loan one week later and was charged for a month of Interest. When I called toyota financial they said there’s nothing they can do and a supervisor wouldn’t not call me back on this issue by one representative. The representative the day before said we could talk to a supervisor but we needed to call back before 5pm. When I called the dealer we were told there nothing they can do because of it already a done deal. The sales manager was shocked we were charged the amount we had been charged for the month. They said normally it’s 30-50$ for that time. The sales manager new I wanted to pay off the truck right away. One thing I’ve learned I won’t ever finance
It threw toyota financing I’ll use my own credit
Union because none of this would have occurred. Not help full and not so friendly.

  • Horrible absolutely horrible

This app and Toyota financial services in general is absolutely awful….they have double charged me and instead of crediting back the money through the app the have to mail me a check like it’s 1955 which is completely insane. Luckily my mailbox is at a horrible location and constantly gets stolen so after waiting the 10 days I call and they can’t do anything for me so I’m out 550 dollars that I don’t have right before Christmas. Then I have them cancel the check and just pay my December bill with that money since I won’t get the check. They said sure and I left it there but today I find out they never paid my December bill so now I’m late in my December bill. This has been awful I hate this app and I hate Toyota financial services and i have nothing by negative things to say about them….luckily I love the car but who cares when I can’t pay for it and yes I’m still out 550 dollars.

  • Do NOT Make Changes In App

Fine app for viewing your account information, but if you need to make any changes, recommend using the website. I changed my banking information for my recurring payment in the app and ended up having money pulled from both the new account and the old account in the same month. So I was charged twice and one of the charges went to the institution I had just moved most of my funds out of. Luckily I still had enough funds in that savings account to transfer over and cover the charge. I logged into the TFS website to check my account info and the website only had my old bank info and didn’t even show the new account even though I could see that account in the app. If you make any changes, you probably want to double check both the app and the website so you don’t get multiple charges.

  • Automatic Payments are impossible to stop

I bought a Tacoma in 2021 I had the truck for 2 years and sold it. The car was paid off the contract was fulfilled and I went on Toyota financials app and stopped all recurring payments. That was back in June, now it’s October and I get my truck payment taken out of my account. So I called TFS and they said that THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE AUTOMATIC PAYMENTS IS THROUGH THE APP. So I downloaded TFS again and opened the app and now automatic payments have been resumed. So from now until 2027 my payment will continue to be charged. The representative said I could go into the account and delete my bank account information. I cannot, the account access is restricted because of course the truck is paid off and there is no balance or loan on it. I can’t stop the payments either, they’re scheduled but again TFS HAS NO OTHER WAY OF STOPPING PAYMENTS. Not even managers not even department heads could turn off these charges. So I had to call my bank and request a stop on all charges coming out of Toyota. So now I can’t buy another car or finance another one through TFS unless I open a separate bank account specifically for that car. Because if I use the same bank before 2027 I will still have my truck payment on top of the new car payment.

  • Terrible company to finance with.

TFS does currently offer the best interest rates on new Toyotas, but I guess you get what you pay for. I generally pay by phone, but their phone system rarely works. The app is glitchy and hard to navigate, so I usually end up making my payments through the Toyota app when the phone service is down. TFS also took 7 months to get me the paperwork I needed to prove I owned the Tacoma I bought so I could get it registered, and that took countless phone calls and promises that they were going to mail me the copy of my title (which never arrived even though I called them every month for several months). Eventually they had to forward me onto the customer resolution people when I told them I needed them to send me my documents and I wasn’t going to take no for an answer for the 7th month in a row. While I absolutely love my Tacoma, financing with TFS has been nothing but headaches.

  • My log in

You guys keep screwing around and ruined my log in . Trying to call a live person and see what has happened is impossible. My front rock shield fell off my Tacoma which is a 2021 with 9,545 miles on it. The service tech said they could put it back on but I would have to pay for the four bolts. After I got done with them they gladly paid for the bolts. I can’t even go through the things that were wrong with the truck when they called me to pick up my new truck. It was written out in black and white but obviously they don’t read then the paperwork was screwed up and I made seven trips back to the dealership to get all the problems fixed. This may be my last Toyota Tacoma. That new Chevrolet Colorado looks so nice. This 3.5 engine in the Tacoma is going to get me killed because of the accelerator pause pulling out onto the street. They can’t fix it.

  • Not compatible with website

Do not download the app or use if you have ever signed into or plan on using your TFS account on the web. The app and website are not compatible, cannot share information and I was told they are two different payment services, leading to me being charged two car payments in one month with recurring payment accounts on both website and app! Though it was easily withdrawn and over drafted my bank, they could not refund electronically. I must now wait 15 days for a refund check in the mail because their website and app are “not compatible” and must choose one or the other, though you cannot do everything on the app, so I had to close my app and web accounts and reopen (only on the web) an account in 7 days using same credentials. Sounds like something fishy is going on with the same sign-on in both places, same car and payment schedule, yet the app and web aren’t communicating?
