  • Need of Black or Dark mode for the elderly.

    The app is has been good so far. The developers indicate that they listen to customer reviews and requests but almost all 65 and over customers are in need of the black or dark mode. The need is real and we have asked for it many times. The developers haven’t done anything and have not responded as to why the feature has not been implemented. We feel that the Banco Popular new administration feels that the ones who helped Mr Carrión make what the Bank is today are not important. Shane in you my friends.

  • Terrible website

    We have had a bank account at Banco Popular in PR for 8 years because it is the only game in town in our small community of Vieques, PR. The manager at our branch is very nice when we go in because our access to the website has been blocked, which happens regularly, she is able to resurrect it for us. But if it happens when we are in the States where we live part of the year there is no way to regain access to our own account until we return to PR. It is like we are dealing with a digital dinosaur. Banco Popular is a large and profitable business and I do not understand how they provide the poor service that they do and treat their customers as badly as they do and stay in business.

  • App is NOT user friendly

    I get that the extra security is for your protection but it has become more of a pain than a benefit. I am constantly being locked out of my account and now I can’t get in at all. Called to fix the problem and instead of just verifying my identity and allowing access, they requested that I issue a card for my savings account, create a pin number for it THEN I can regain access. I never issued another card for my savings because the first one got hacked. Now they are asking me to do it again just to gain access to my online banking. We are in 2023 but Banco Popular still operates like it’s 1965. I really want to close my accounts there but it’s the easiest way I can send/receive money from back home.

  • Problems with Mi Banco

    I have been having so many issues with my app Mi Banco on my iPhone. It automatically blocks my access without me even going into it and every time I call they fix the problem with me on the phone and it works fine, but once I log out and try to log back in it’s the same issues: “access blocked”. This is getting so annoying and frustrating for me because I cannot check and make sure I still have my money in my account and to use it.
    Is there any way that this can be fixed so I don’t have any more problems of this nature? It’s never happened before when I first downloaded the app to my phone and now it’s a big issue for me..

  • Why do you insist I write a review? Then here goes it’s crappy!!!

    What a frustrating thing to be asked to rate you on the worst day of your performance and I am extremely busy now thanks to you. The app login stops working and I have to delete and download the app all the time thanks to this. The entire app freezes and so I try and try once and again and nothing happens so I end up having to re-install the thing Over and over. There. Your 100 words. Hope you are happy ruining and controlling peoples lives with your ineficiencia!!!!

  • Face recognition

    Ii've been having problems with my face recognition. I only have problems with This bank app ( I have another bank and doesnt happen) The app made me change the pw every single time and doesnt let me use the any of the previous pw, so no now im using one not even close to the one i want + I called customer service and they recommended me to erase te app and installed again and the problem still happening. They told me there was a problem which the face recognition was not recognizing the new password and that they were gonna "pass the info" to fix it. It has been a month and nothing.

  • Keeps blocking my access

    If I get my password wrong more than once it automatically blocks me out. Wouldn’t be such a problem except in order to regain access I have to put in a bunch of information (including my account number which I didn’t know at the top of my head) except that every time I switch apps to retrieve this information it times out! So a NEW recovery link is sent and I have to start again. AND NOW IT WONT EVEN LET ME DO THAT. This thing has blocked me out so many times I learned my account number and now it wont even let me do the process on my phone. So if I want to do as much as check my balance pa no pasar bochorno en la fila de Church’s I have to pray that I don’t forget my password which mind you, I ONLY KEEP FORGETTING CAUSE I KEEP HAVING TO CHANGE IT. And if God forbid I do Im completely out of luck until I can get home and use my computer.
    I get it’s for safety and all but like this app has actually become laughably unusable for me. That’s not even mentioning how the transfer feature just straight up didn’t work for me until I called.
    I just want to see if I can get esos extra pechu bites or not in peace mano

    In 100 years per day minimum Banco Popular allows to all it’s customers, business customers and employees to receive and make minimum of $500,000 per day and in 100 years per day since they don’t care what and how is the reason are only that they accept wire transfers to all it’s people that have a bank account or bank relationship with him.

  • Keeps locking me out

    Although I can more than appreciate the focus on security, but over this year alone I’ve me locked out for my account more times than I can remember. Had issues when I changed my phone number last year since it was the only verification method. Will there be plans on using an actual Authenticator app or token to install? Or maybe even approval from another device logged into the same account.
    Not to mention if I need to link my account to my budgeting app or any other financial apps, it does not stay connected for long if it doesn’t trigger my account to require recovery once again. I can’t add my card to my Apple wallet or Cash-app. I do have it linked with my PayPal, but only can only use it to pay with PayPal online. Cannot use it to manually pay with the card or send money to personal or business contacts. Let alone transfer money to one of my other debit cards.
    I have seen some improvements in the years since I’ve had my account, the innovations seem slow and built on the original engine which, in my opinion what needs the update, not the add-ons, well the ones you don’t need to download an additional app to use. The core needs the update, then the integration of these other components such as ATH móvil, Authenticator and Zelle. Maybe better integration with Plaid. I don’t only use my account in PR, I do nee to use my account while I’m away.
