  • Review of first cruise

This was our first Disney cruise and it was all that we dreamed and more. From the moment we arrived at port to when we disembarked, we were made to fell special. When taking the character meet and greets, the cast members for to know us. The schedule of these were sometimes hectic and we did miss Stitch but was great. Jennifer who is from Marishis (spelling is wrong), even knew our state room number. Carlos our state room host met us the first day and greeted us. He introduced hisself, gave us an overview of the days activities and greet each and every time he saw us. Each morning he gave us a quick update of the activities and made sure we had fun. Neurys (spelling) in Mickey main sail made sure we had the best experience possible. All the cast members answered our questions and made sure we had what we needed. Happiness in guest services was the best. She promptly assisted us with anything we needed. Our servers Rhaul and Fredrick table 102 took excellent care of us when we dined nightly.

  • The DCL app

The DCL app was such a help for friends and family to come together and enjoy their cruise. I have met many people and have been blessed to meet them and because of the Disney cruise line app had me closer together. Entertainment: Edge, vibe, oceaneer club, oceaneer lab, it’s a small world nursery has been such a help to the adults!!!! The adults can have their children have a blast in all youth activities. The children have come up to the cruise director and tell them how much the love the people and the fun they had in the clubs. The app lets you know when daily events are going on and what movies are showing. Character meetings: Character meetings has been such a blast for me and my mom and dad! I am 11 years of age and but that doesn’t stop me from meeting my favorite friends. In conclusion, the DCL app has been such a help to all families who has been on the cruise before and has not at all. I thank you so much for the app. Have a great day!

  • Needs an Update to Match My Disney Experience

    The Positive...
Really enjoyed the on board activities list with filters, tabs, and the ability to select favorites automatically adding to your itinerary. The onboard text ability between room guests or friends made along the cruise by adding in everyone’s personal Text ID was especially convenient when cell/data services can be scarce or costly.

    Needs Improvement...
This is not as intuitive or as functional as the My Disney Experience APP. A considerable amount of information still had to be passed through letters and cast crew members. The Frequently asked questions section is severely lacking having only 6-7 options. The Disney Cruise Line website has ample more information and helpful tips that would be beneficial to include throughout the cruise with this app. A simple cut and paste would severely increase the app’s functionality. So why are they not linked? The app could be used for boarding passes on departure day and link the major events and excursions planned ahead of time. Instead we are left with just a countdown prior to arriving.
Why not share the same general cruise information tailored to an individual’s paid trip as you would find on the website?
Finally, once you are fully dependent on communicating with the text feature, you reach Castaway Cay where it no longer works on Disney’s private island(???). You are forced to use the Wave Phones (another hardware device).

  • Member Services feedback

My daughter had emergency surgery at home while I was cruising. I relied on the “Contact at Sea” instructions for those at home. While texting and calling was intermittent, my family did get through to member services (they had to give credit card number and were charged a fee for calling) .
When returning from Port I was instructed to see Member Services even though I had already communicated with my family. Member services kindly offered to connect me to my family member. Also on Stateroom door was a message to contact Member Services. Overall I was impressed with the follow through that I received my message. I am confident in this process and gave me piece of mind.
My only regret was upon a hasty departure, I neglected to pack my mini shampoo, lotion, etc. that I wanted to bring my daughter for her hospital stay. I beared no gifts😥 but my motherly love.
Aside from my personal worries, I highly recommend a Disney Cruise and feel the “contact at Sea” process is efficient. Thanks

  • Best Trip Ever

I cannot day enough about this experience. We took our 2 1/2 year old and she absolutely loved every single minute of it. We were worried about having the late dinner seating and the servers went above and beyond to make her happy. Fitzroy and Sunny were our servers and they were amazing. Our stateroom host was Winston and he was so accommodating. We’d come and go at different times of the day and night making it hard for him to come to our room at the same day every time and he was so polite. He’d go to the next room so we could grab swimsuits and such to keep the little one happy. And don’t even get me started on the characters...we are all obsessed even my husband. They loved on hazel and made her feel so special...especially on the last night with a special invitation. Disney knows how to create a magical experience...we’ll definitely be back!

Thank you all for an amazing experience

  • Everything but TV.

We just finished the 14 day Panama Cruise on the Disney Wonder. Staff was friendly and exceptional. The food and entertainment were excellent and both of a wide variety . Everything was impeccably clean. Overall it was great! Would be 5 Stars EXCEPT: My only complaint was the TV. I can’t understand since Disney owns ESPN, why we were unable to watch the Texas A&M vs Mississippi State football game at 6:00 pm on Saturday October 27th. There were at least 50+ Aggies on board plus some MSU Bulldog fans and we were extremely disappointed to see CRICKET in place of our football game. We had numerous staff at the bars attempt to arrange it for us and they all came back and said they couldn’t do it. I would think that EVERY channel owned by Disney would be available on cabin TVs. No, we were stuck with Caribbean ESPN and a boring Cricket game. There’s no telling how much the bar could have made on drink sales during that 3 1/2 hour football game! It’s a shame the “high” of the Canal crossing was followed by a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.

  • Lackluster

Compared to the Disney’s park app, the Disney Cruise app is lacking. We just returned from Halloween on the High Seas and found the app to not be as updated as the paper navigator you receive in your stateroom each day. The parks app has so much integration in terms of scheduling dining, fast-passes, viewing photos, etc...this app just feels “empty”. We found that several event times such as fireworks, were not accurate on the app compared to the paper navigator. This is odd since the one bright spot of the app is the alert system. We were alerted that our glass bottom boat tour was cancelled due to weather early in the day which we appreciated since we were able to make other plans. Having said that, another alert popped up right before the scheduled time of the boat tour saying it was still happening. We just so happened to be in the right spot on Castaway Cay to check on the tour only to find out that it was still cancelled. Ironically, the weather was perfect at that point and had been for most of the day even though it was a little breezy and overcast in the morning. Odd.

Again, overall, it seems like Disney needs to overhaul this app and my suggestion would be to take the lead of the parks app where applicable. Disney people like to plan. The app should help you do so.

  • Disney Cruise App comments

We sure found this app to be useful and a lifeline to communicate with our party of 6 on the Fantasy ship. The texting function was very good most of the time. The two comments I’d make are that occasionally you are out of range and don’t get the messages right away...understandable on a huge ship. The second comment is more a request for an improvement. It would be helpful to have a time stamp when the messages are sent. Given that communications were intermittent sometimes, you could get a delayed message thinking that it was current. For example, “we are at the pool now.” By the time you got the message, it was after lunch and they were back at the room.
We loved the current activities that highlighted all the activities from the current time forward. You could be reminded that you needed to leave soon to participate or see things you hadn’t noticed on the daily navigator. The deck plans were helpful too, to help you get somewhere quickly. The kids had fun with the countdown character clock to see how long it was until Cruise day, too.

  • Best vacation ever!

Thank you Disney for a truly magical vacation! Cruising forced my tween and teen boys to disconnect from technology and spend time with Mom and Dad! My husband and I bonded on all different levels with our boys, and we will treasure those memories forever. We absolutely loved your private island Castaway Cay (2 stops). Everything was perfect. From the pristine beaches to the trilling stingray excursion, we couldn’t of asked for a better port experience. The Disney staff gave exceptional customer service! Our hostess Nicole took such good care of us, and we loved our wait staff Jason and Monica who followed us from restaurant to restaurant! Speaking of restaurants, Palo was amazing. And being the clean freak that I am, can I just say your ship is spotless! Everywhere sparkled. This was our first cruise, and well you have spoiled us Disney! I won’t even consider another cruise line. We are all ready to plan our next family cruise vacation with you.

  • Disney Cruise Fantasy

This is my 3rd Disney cruise! I couldn’t wait to take my husband, it was going to be his first Disney cruise experience! I had been bragging about the food the ship the activities for months! I always request to sit at a group table for dinner, we love meeting other families and this is always very important to me! Before the ship left port I went to the dining room to check with the head waiter just to make sure we had a shared table and was very disappointed to find out we didn’t! They tried to change it but weren’t able to! In the past the food has been top notch, this time every night my fish was over cooked and bland, all except for one night my husband and kids steaks were very good and Palo was AMAZING! We also really enjoyed the Animators Palette, the animation during dinner was really great! The movies, shows and entertainment were a 8 out of 10 and the ports of call were very nice, especially castaway cay! The value for the money just wasn’t there for me this time but will go again some day I’m sure!
