Is annoying when it should be useful
This app strives to be an intelligent personal assistant, but I’d fire any assistant that provided such useless “help.”
The calendar integration is beyond infuriating as it gives multiple alerts for everything in the calendar even if there is no location data. This means I get way too many alerts given the number of meetings and calls I schedule. For goodness sake, give me an option to tell it to ignore those with no defined location.
If I didn’t need the app to remote start the car, I would remove the app completely and use only the owner’s website.
I work for a software company and we strive not to make the mistakes I see in this app every day. I love the basic idea of what the app -should- do but there are so few things it does well that the app is, at best, useless to me.

Very, very slow and needs a lot of work
The app works *most* of the time, but very slowly. On a 400mb/s 8ms latency connection, it takes 30 seconds to 4 minutes to do such tasks as start the vehicle, close doors, or simply to refresh. Since my connection is not the issue, this appears to be an app and/or server issue on the part of Genesis. Running iOS 13.1.2 on an iPhone Xs.
Dealers upload service records to the Genesis portal. However, you can’t see the services performed when clicking “Service History Tool” in the app. Results are always blank. Instead service history can only be seen on the desktop Genesis owners site. However “Services History Tool” does let you add your own service records, but those are NOT reflected in the desktop site. It’s almost like they have separate databases for the app and the desktop site that are not connected.
Starting the car remotely makes it flash it’s lights, calling unnecessary attention to the car, posing a safety risk, especially in sketchier parts of the city.
The car itself is great so far, but this app is utter trash.
Hyundai/Kia/Genesis need to make quality of software as much of a priority as that of the car.

Great idea, ok dev
This app does everything I need it to. Commands work 75% of the time though, and “refresh token” kicks me out of the app way too often. Developer needs to update badly. Still emulating smaller screen even, so keyboard looks bigger than normal on iPhone X. Hyundai, love the ideas you have here. Remote start and status from an app is the way to do it, but you have to dump some money into updating it and fixing the bugs!!!
Update: build has improved although large outdated keyboard still exists, updating with Face ID was a big improvement. These improvements need to come faster.

App needs a lot of work
I’m a new Genesis owner and while I’m happy with the car, I’m less than satisfied with the app. To start, the remote start functionality is not working. Tried restarting the app and the phone multiple times. Second, the calendar integration is obnoxious. Reminders go off at odd intervals and repeatedly so. I turned it off just so I didn’t have to deal with it, however, that seems to limit full functionality of the app. Third, it would be nice if the app had the ability to tell you location and mileage. As a previous Chevy owner, their app could do that and you wouldn’t have to be within a mile radius like the Hyundai app for it to track location. Overall, my comments and others should indicate your app needs improvement.

Service Valet?
Genesis allegedly offers “Service Valet,” in which the dealership is supposed to come and pick up your vehicle for service wherever it is, leave a loaner car, and return your vehicle to you after service work is complete. However, Genesis has provided no way to schedule this. It certainly cannot be scheduled via this app.
Another concern is that, outside of metropolitan areas, the remote start fails about 4 out of 5 times.
Update on June 29, 2019: Since the time that I route my original review, Genesis has lost many dealerships. This app has not been updated to reflect that. Therefore when you search for dealerships, many are listed that no longer exist. At this point, this app is virtually worthless for scheduling service appointments or finding a dealership.

This app works for me
I’ve read reviews of some of the issues their having. But I must say I’ve had no issues with it. It’s worked as described.
As far as the lights blinking from remotely starting the car, that would be a great update to be able to chose to have your lights blinking while starting it remotely. But to me, it’s not a big deal or a game changer. I’ve had no one telling me my lights are blinking. I’ve been doing it for almost 2 years now.
I hope they do update the app though and give it more options. That would be great!

Just OK. Simple things need improvement
I already have enough assistance with my schedule, the weather, and so on. Stick to the basics. Give me control and details on my car. Quick and simple. If my doors aren’t locked before remote start is triggered, lock them - don’t fail the command. Remote start should last more than 10 minutes. It’s a hot humid 102 in Florida today, 10 minutes won’t do it. Why on earth the hazards need to flash blow my mind. It’s like “look at me, I’m a running car!” Or “Emergency, Hey Stranger, come approach me!”
I absolutely love my G80, but more intuition needs to be put into its remote connectivity processes.
Also, Version 2.8.22 broke for me. I haven’t been able to use the app for days. Using iOS 12.4 Beta.

Horrible
I’m sorry but this App is so disappointing considering I used the Hyundai app for nearly 4 years and it worked great. You’d think the Genesis version would be better or at least on par. Sadly it’s not. I keep getting a message saying the app is unable to connect to the server from my mobile phone. From my computer, works find. But, who wants to lug a 27” iMac around to remotely start your car. Disappointed

Not enough
Texas gets very hot, so the remote start is a must, but this app leaves much to be desired.
Pros
Vehicle commands are within a minute, and starts 98% of the time.
Cons
If the sunroof or any window is open, the car will not start. This is very frustrating if you live in a hot climate and leave windows vented.
You cannot use find my car and other features, if the vehicle has not been started in a week. So if you are traveling for longer than a week, don’t rely on this app to help you remember where you parked at a large international airport.
Blinking LED lights are extremely obnoxious, the parking lights would be adequate.
I don’t understand why I can’t activate the heated/vented seats on my luxury car...
Still no support for Apples shortcuts, I would like to start my car with Siri as part of my smart home. This is not difficult to enable....
It’s as if Genesis leadership doesn’t use this app, has low standards, or maybe there’s no innovation at the company...

Spotty reliability, doesn’t stay logged in, occasionally fails completely
Here’s a thought guys... before updating your service to say “an update is required, please update in the App Store” you might want to wait until the App Store has accepted your app update. People generally don’t enjoy multiple day outages.
Even outside of that, when it’s “working” I have to log in every time (remembering app logins is a solved problem, not rocket science) and the uptime of the service is around one nine... fails to log in Avery tenth time or so.
Seriously, fix this. It’s ridiculous. Mercedes, BMW, Tesla, Lincoln, and even Ford apps are not exhibiting these problems. Better to not have functionality than to have functionality that seldom works.
