  • Absolute worst customer experience

    This company should be ashamed of themselves. I had my first account over a year ago until I logged it once and noticed that it said a stranger name at the top. Then on top of that, they were purchasing tickets using my account and CC. Somehow their account merged with mine (I changed absolutely nothing on my end to enable this). I had to then deal with my CC company and Atom to get these charges reversed. Atom then told me to cancel my subscription and sign up using another email address, which I reluctantly did. This worked for about 7 months until now when another issue appeared using the app where I couldn’t complete a ticket purchase using my credits or even just paying for them. Each time I’ve spent hours chatting (no customer service #) only to be told they can’t help me. Then to top it off they emailed me saying I’m going against their T&Cs because I have two accounts! They told me to do that- can they not see the first is inactive plus the notes from my first issue?! Worst experience using an app/company. Wouldn’t recommend anyone use this unless you want to fill your swear jar in a day.

  • Horrible customer service and deceptive worry free guarantee

    Update: after 8 emails asking for any help I left a one star review and they sent me an email about the review saying my only option were pay the fee to get refund to my credit card or take Atom Credits. The same time they sent this email they also refunded the full amount. They asked me to update this review so I am but I still feel it’s bad customer service to only offer a solution after a public bad review. I will add a star for offering a solution after a review but it should not take that much effort to honor a worry free guarantee.

    I booked tickets for myself and friends family and we accidentally both booked. I tried right away to request a refund and if I wanted money back I would lost the $15 fee unless I want credits. Since I don’t have use for 8 tickets currently I emailed and asked for a refund. It’s been 8 emails and most ignore the request and tell me how to get a refund or credit online and the ones that do read it say I’m “only responsible” for the fee if I want money back. I’ve tried to explain this was an error realized right away and 10 days before the movie but they won’t do anything.

  • No refund for an unauthorized transaction

    Customers beware if you have your CC added as a payment method in their app! They will automatically charge your credit card, even when you do not click the “confirm purchase” button. Once you click your seats, go to the next screen, the payment screen will be skipped and you’ll get a “purchase confirmation” screen.

    This happened to me so I requested a cc refund, but was charged the convenience fee for a transaction I completely did not authorize. I’ve never had this issue happen and now I am concerned of how they handle their transaction flows.

    I contacted customer service w this issue and they were not able to resolve, or refund me my convenience fee. AND I even rebooked my showing + same seats right after this transaction. Seems unfair and a bit sketchy that they don’t care once they get your money. I hope this is customer experience is considered to be improved

  • Terrible experience

    I gave this app a try for the first and possibly the last time. I purchased confirmed tickets and even was able to load them in my Apple wallet. So far so good. However, once at the theater they could not find the reservation, the worst part it isn’t clear how to contact Atom. I was told by the manager on duty at AMC that this happens with 3rd party apps. Kinda sounds like the scam Priceline. Anyway, the manager allowed us in the theater but the previews were nearly over. Yes I’m one that loves the previews for upcoming movies. So I hope that others read this and just stick to the theater apps as I still have not heard from atom. So kudos to AMC for the assist.

    What’s even more ridiculous is that I tried to contact support for this app and it takes days for a reply that’s not automated. And no other assistance for 2 weeks. I guess the movie has come and gone and they don’t care if there was any inconvenience.

  • They deactivate without notice

    The worst customer care service! My account as deactivated after over 10 times to purchase tix with my atom cash (a refund without fee penalty that I regret choosing). Now mind you the span of me trying to purchase tix was done in a month. Continuously got error message to update my payment method when I have proof that I had money in my atom account. What was the resolution for the customer care Dept? Deactivate my account, supposedly wait 7-10 days to get part of money back. It’s better not to do third party sellers. 1. Third party are NOT FREE! They need to make money, so there’s fees when purchasing. You canx, they stay with the fee portion altho u didn’t watch the movie. Fair? No! 2. On Atom your are also limited as what you could purchase in the concession stands whereas with AMC it has the full menu. 3. Third party sellers are limited on their customer service. Remember they are more worried on getting themselves money instead of the full experience as they are not the movie company themselves. You will not get what you want not expect them to resolve your issue. They don’t care. Don’t my mistake. I know there could’ve been other options to take care of my issues, gift cards, put in the order for me, etc but don’t just deactivate my account and take my money!! My advice, don’t use atom cash, don’t use or buy gift cards, don’t leave your wallet saved. I don’t feel safe.

  • My Go-To for Effortless Movie Nights 🍿🎟️

    Just wanted to share my thoughts on the Atom movie tickets app – it's a game-changer! Honestly, it's super convenient for buying movie tickets; I wouldn't even think of using anything else. Plus, I love that I can use Apple Pay to check out quickly and easily. The app also lets me select which contacts to send tickets to, which is super handy when planning movie nights with friends. The UI is sleek and user-friendly – big thumbs up there!

    The only thing I wish they'd add is a representation of screen size or photos of the theater's interior, so I can make more informed decisions on which row to pick. But hey, that's just a small nitpick. Overall, I'm sticking with Atom because it's just THAT good. Give it a try if you haven't already!

  • A Security Nightmare

    My account was hacked and Atom showed no initiative to help. Their only form of support is an email hotline, which I emailed 3 times without receiving a single response. During this time unauthorized purchases were being made. I had my Apple Pay linked to my account and there is no option to remove your saved payment method. I had to completely disable Apple Pay from my phone to remove access to Atom. I had changed my password 3 times, none of which kicked the hacker off. As long as you have a logged in session, it seems you can stay active as long as you’d like. There is no 2 factor authentication. This is a security nightmare and I can’t imagine how this is remotely passable for a technology company in the modern era. Use Fandango, buy direct from theater, anything but this.

  • Use Fandango

    My friend group used to use this app all the time. We have probably purchased 30+ tickets through it. We needed to cancel one ticket due to one of us getting COVID. There is no option to just cancel one ticket. I would have had to cancel the entire order and hope I could get the other three seats together again (this was for a Marvel movie, on opening weekend). Additionally, this was explained to me in an email AFTER the showtime, when I no longer had an option to cancel anything. I raised this point in my email reply and never got a response. Go download Fandango instead. Don’t waste your time here.

  • Excellent customer service!

    At first I was going to write a bad review for this app. When I bought BTS cinema tickets the order didn’t process, I thought it would take a while to process so I waited until the week of the show but still it didn’t process so I contacted customer service to fix the issue. I expressed to them that the BTS movie is limited and the last day was that day and I didn’t want a refund I wanted my seats to work. They responded well and took care of my issue and I was able to buy my original tickets back can’t be happier!

  • Cyber security very lacking

    I love the ease with which this app works. Unfortunately it also seems to be very easy for hackers as well. I had a Megaplex Theatres Megapass, which must be used through this app. In the past 6 months I have had fraudulent tickets bought 5 times. I’ve changed my passwords every time, but it happens again. I have been able to cancel the tickets, but Atoms only refunds them in the form of “Atoms Cash.” You must contact there customer service to get it refunded to your credit card, and it takes 7-10 days. Pretty messed up that it takes seconds for them to take my money and days to give it back. It’s really a hassle and frustrating. It should not be this easy to hack. If you trust a company with your credit card info, you hope they will protect it. I’ve finally canceled my account rather than continuing to risk my information.
