  • Checking in issue

    I really enjoy the Atom App. I’ve made it a point to go to theaters that use the app. It is nice to be able to use different payment methods and assign tickets to people in your contacts.

    The one big issue is checking in at the theater. Whoever arrives first at the theater and scans the barcode checks in both people. If someone in your party arrives after you and scans their barcode it will read “invalid”. If you have to be together at the same time, then it shouldn’t give you the option to send tickets to friends. It gives the impression that each person is getting their own ticket/barcode.

  • HACKED!!!

    Just an hour ago I’ve been scammed. I first downloaded the app to get tickets to Avengers Endgame a while back and haven’t used the app since. Today I got a text and email confirming an order I didn’t place and across the nation for $97!!! I got hacked and someone used my money. Maybe there needs to be better security or something. App was fine until a scammer hacked and abused my account. I swear I better get a refund.

    Edit: customer service was helpful and refunded me. Should be all good now but not sure how I was hacked.

  • Terrible sign-up and no way to exclude genre or rating

    The sign-up process is terrible, very glitchy and frustrating. App took forever to download, nothing else open on my phone and over a 100MB connection. Simply weird.
    The want your number to send you your tickets?! Why? Just email them to me like everyone else. They probably just want my number to sell later on, not surprisingly they don’t have a phone number themselves.
    As soon as the app loaded it asked for notification permission, Ad tracking permission, and exact location tracking permission. Ahhhh No, No, and No. I can put the cinema address in myself. The app does not let you turn off all email adverting (receipts and tickets excluded of course), there is no way to select or eliminate movie genres, nor a way to block out certain ratings.
    Got this app for the T-mobile coupon. It says “zero fees”, only received a discount was still charged fees.

    Used and done, deleting until they at least add a way to block out genres and ratings.

  • Horrible Customer Service

    I placed an order for 3 tickets for the movie Memory. I am an AMC Stubs member and had 50% off of my tickets, and I saw it on the order review, but when I finalized my order I noticed I got charged full price.
    So I canceled the order and redid it making sure the 50% off applied correctly this time.
    They refunded my order, excluding the service fees, when issue wasn't even my fault. I have been emailing multiple emails over the span of 2 weeks, with no response. You would think considering this was not my mistake, that Atom would care for their customers and at least include a one time courtesy service fee refund, or at least something to make sure they can keep a customer.

  • Don’t buy through atom

    I bought tickets through atom for Cinemark, I went to see my movie and I was told I couldn’t go in with my minor at the time of the showing on a Friday night. They were going to refund me my tickets but couldn’t because I had bought them through atom and I had to go through them to get new tickets or a refund. I emailed customer service and they tell me they can’t refund me or give me new tickets because Cinemark doesn't know atoms cancelation policy so there’s nothing they can do I had to cancel 30 min prior to showing I didn’t cancel because I couldn’t make it I wasn’t allowed in. I said well as partners with cinemark I believe you should know each other’s policy that way this doesn't happen again. I lost my tickets and my money 😡

  • Update - issue resolved

    I had accepted the fact that Atom was not going to do anything about my issue. To my great surprise and pleasure I received an email from Sean in customer service. They did indeed consider my request. I’m grateful that they took the time to reconsider my issue. I thank them for their efforts and will continue to use the app.

    Old review-
    Plain and simple, customer service is awful. I bought tickets for a blockbuster premier. Apparently someone else reserved the same seats at the same time. Atom still charged me and didn’t notify me for over an hour that my seats reservation failed. They refunded my tickets but by that time the theater was sold out. I was able to book a different showing the same night directly through the theater and not through Atom. But it was inconvenient and messed up plans for others for the night. I had just signed up for the MegaPass program which has a6 month commitment. It is basically $15/month and gives you two free passes. Not bad if you like to go to the movies. I requested they cancel my membership since I no longer have confidence in their system. They simply quoted company policy and stated that sometimes it happens on busy nights. I asked if they could do anything at all to show they cared about their customer experience and the answer was no. This is my experience, it looks like I’m not alone.

  • Decent, but not up to date with Covid seating algorithm

    I had a mini panic attack today thinking the app glitched. It showed available seats, but kept telling me they were taken. I went to the theater’s website and realized those seats were supposed to be X’d out for social distancing. Very thankful I figured it out, but was not happy I needed to go to the theater’s website to learn this instead of being able to simply order on my app without an issue. Outside of this problem the app is streamlined and easy to use.

  • App is useless, existing account and re-apply info leaves tix buy in limbo.

    Tried to purchase tix from app but when signing on with google account, I get existing account message. Transition doesn’t go forward to purchase a ticket to force me to re-apply my name, email, address, etc. info I’m not going to when I already have an existing account on Atom, the app isn’t automatically using, left it closed or locked off and ticket purchase in limbo. The app is useless for me from signing back on my existing account. Now I’m back to buying movie tickets at the theater.

  • Bugs with ordering seats

    I see seats available and then it says it’s taken when I try to purchase. Screen refreshes to show same availability and not the updated “taken” status.

    Also I see “few seats left” for same showing that shows no seats when entering seat selection screen. Tested multiple times within a 2 minute window to see same results (very misleading).

  • Garbage

    Complete garbage. Stuck on verifying phone. Also the tickets cost $1 more on the app.
