  • Amazing for learning music theory

One of the best apps or ways in general to learn music theory, would highly recommend!!!
  • Simply fantastic

Although I’ve never left an app review before, I feel compelled to voice my support for this program. This is by far the cleanest, simplest explanation of basic music theory that I’ve ever encountered. The tutorials, exercises, and overall course design are all excellent. After years of playing various instruments, I finally feel equipped with the fundamentals of theory—something I’d always avoided because it seemed too difficult to learn on my own. I’ve enjoyed this app so much that I could go on and on praising it, but in short: it’s certainly the most worthwhile app purchase I’ve ever made. Thank you!

  • I never usually review apps…

…But this app singlehandedly reignited my love for making music. I can say that because of this app I can finally write a song in whatever key I want without hesitation.
  • Wow! Learning so Much

Waay has restored my faith in apps. It’s honestly so well put together and the content is top notch.

One feature request I do have is the ability to sync across devices. I got quite far on my iPhone and wanted to carry on my iPad but I have to start again.

    Developer Response

Hey! Thanks for the kind words, and I just wanted to follow-up to let you know that syncing is now available. Just update the app on your iPhone, and then install the new version on your iPad. Everything should just work—no login required. If you have any questions or feedback, feel free to get in touch anytime by tapping "Get in Touch" in the sidebar (under "More"). Have a great week! –Alex
  • Engaging and well thought out!

I’ve Played various instruments over the years and have always struggled when trying to learn theory.

This app has given me a way of taking in the theory I need but in a more engaging way that becomes a mini game instead of boring revision.

Yesterday, sharps, flats and keys were something I could never quite get my head around.
Now the mystery has been solved and I’m keen to see what is to come in the app and what doors this can open for me.

The 5.99 for me was a better investment than countless books I have bought and relegated to the bookshelf.

if you are like me and can play an instrument but have avoided music theory as it was boring or daunting, then I’d highly recommend you give this a go.
I wish I had this App 10 years ago!

  • Great app

I love well designed products so when a friend showed me this new music theory app I was caught by surprise. I never thought that i would get into music theory but i guess all it took was good design and just the right amount of gamification. well done !
  • Wish i started this when i 1st bought it

This app is amazing, I bought it a year ago and forgot all about it, and found myself still struggling to actually make decent tracks, as i dint fully understand music theory! I decided to take a good look at Waay and i must say its a must for any newibe that wishes to learn beat making. This app has put me on the right track now to understand music theory, which has help me so much in my creation.
A big thank you to the developers.

  • Really effective, accessible

I’ve tried hundreds of times to learn this kind of thing from a book and it’s not stuck but I’ve been on Waay every day for about 2 months now, a little at a time, and made so much progress in things I’d never thought I’d grasp that it’s almost unbelievable. It’s translated directly into better playing and more fun on the instrument too. Great piece of work, opened doors for me!

  • Good App

BUT it is in desperate need of more “courses”. Right now it only covers chords and melodies. It would be great if we could also get practice in for inversions and modes. But with what was given I was able to memorize things like relative minors easily. My only other suggestion is to put an option for continuous practice on an area rather than stopping after 30 seconds intervals or whatever it is. Overall great app and it would be worth the money if it had more courses.

Thanks for the kind words about Waay and the feedback! There's more material on the way soon; I'm just putting the final touches on it now. :) -Alex
  • Great addition to learning music theory!

Music theory can be and is very complicated. Anything that adds fun while learning it is a plus. It’s all about the reinforcement of scales, intervals and notes. This app makes it fun, easy and my favorite go-to when I’m waiting in line. Perfect app for all music theory students! AAA+
