  • Very entertaining

I have enjoyed playing this game. I play random deals and no undo’s. I find it challenging for me.

I have nowhere near the wins I read about some having, but have progressed steadily. I don't think some of the pay options are adequately explained and it takes a long time to progress in status, particularly at the upper end of the spectrum, but I assume that is the whole point. I have had none of the technical problems others have complained about and I have been through several upgrades. If you want to challenge your thinking and powers of observation, this is a good game compared to most any other....but then, it is Churchillian, right?

  • Original, but it wasn’t enough...

It’s getting harder to actually do something different, and I felt like that happened, so that’s good. That’s what pulled the score up to 3 stars.

The bugs and inconsistencies really, *really* got in the way of my enjoyment. That plus penny-pinching greed. Unlimited hints in easy mode, but if you use more than 10 you have none left when you decide to try medium - unless you want to cough up $1 for more. Same with undo. And the user interface is inconsistent and buggy.

All added together, the bugs and greed overwhelmed interest in something new and creative. I won’t be playing it anymore...

  • ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO WIN!

Well, I'm really frustrated! After a year, I've managed only 30 wins. This is very, very pre-rigged to be impossible, but, after a while, it's just a drag. I've actually purchased the upgrades, too, and they're no better. The deals seem really hinky, too. I've played a lot of Solitaire(s) for years and never seen so many deals of the same numbers and colors. For example, a row of four black 10's and four black sixes. And that goes on and on. There are never foundation cards to build on. There's no amount of strategy that will get you through, although some reviewers suggest you need to strategize and hone your skills. If only that worked! If you like a really frustrating and monotonous time and never winning, this one's for you!

  • Fun and addictive but lost the fifth star

Ever since Churchill solitaire was released, I’ve been an enthusiastic player. I remain baffled, however, by the omission from the rules of an explanation of how bonus points are earned. I typically play random deals. After I win a challenging game, I’m disappointed to see that I earned no bonus points, but after I win an easy game, I’m surprised to see that I earned 100. How are bonus points calculated?

Lately, (or perhaps after the last update), the card layout on my iPhone 7 Plus immediately switches to portrait mode after the deal. Previously, I could play in landscape mode and turn to portrait mode after my rows extended beyond the view. I miss very much the capability to switch modes back and forth, especially when I have difficulty distinguishing a spade from a club in portrait view.

Except for these annoying issues, Churchill solitaire is indeed a five star game.

  • Makes you strategize

My husband Bill saw General Rumsfeld being interviewed on TV about 3 years ago. One question they asked him was what he did in his spare time, play any games now that he was retired. He mentioned this game. We immediately tried it and both liked it. It does make you plan ahead. I do not understand why some people would write a negative review, because to us, not everything has to be entertaining! How about something that makes you think, a game thats not so easy? This is it.

  • Frustrated!

Since the latest updates the gap between overlapping cards is so big that it's useless for the iPad and when I flip my iPhone to vertical, I now need a microscope to read the cards.

Can you please go back to a tighter format?
PS I paid for the full version of this game.
  • Frustrating

I have played enough to be a “General” so I know it’s challenging and any one card play can change the game completely (I like that). Several people have already posted that one of the “updates” caused cardplay to freeze and in my case I was one card from winning and it wouldn’t allow me. That seems to be fixed for now but I think you owe every player a batch of free undos for every bug like that.
BUT I am really ticked that this weekend I discovered that while (I think) the cards are in the deck the same way for each hand, they do not get dealt the same way. I discovered this when I did a quick oops undo and the draw pile came covered the piles in a different order. What the heck? No wonder some seem unsinkable, if you have to pay for a different random draw order.
I don’t mind a tough game but it should play by a consistent (and well described) set of rules.

  • Addictive but Expensive and Buggy

I admit to loving this game and spend far to much time playing it, especially harder games which I play over and over to solve or improve my score. That said, it’s remarkably expensive to play since it costs dollars to buy additional games, hints, and undos. It’s easy to spend a few extra dollars a month to play this game and I spend more than that. Add it up over a year or two and the cost is scandalous. No one would ever consciously pay that much to play any phone game when there are so many other cheaper options out there. Also, sometimes the app inexplicably changes so the score disappears and functions appear in reverse order.

  • Response you your rely.

11/5. There group of software people are at it again. There is a choice now of cards so small unreadable or those that look like that which a 5 year old would use. This must be one of those age old software plans - fix bugs but make things worse so we can continue to make change that will fix things worse.

9/17. Again, starting over as a result of your update, and game 1 is now hung with final card in deck won’t allow playing. Seems to me you are doing nothing but making this game worse. Recommend you turn rights over to an organization that has the expertise to get it right

How many times are you going to send the same response. It is obvious that you never read the response to your automatically generated rely.

This was the new release! Worked well yesterday, but today it is almost impossible to tell what cards are in the stack, plus all my previous games, many solved, disappeared. Apparently the update was done over night.
This is the second time that you have wiped out my scores with either freezing, or now with the update.

  • Upgrade bug

This is a great game. Been playing for quite a while now and am finally learning some subtle strategies to win games. Reached Prime Minister and now have 334 victories and 154,000 points.
However with last update I can’t move a card from one side of the screen to the other. As I drag the card it slowly gets left further behind my finger.
    Anyone else have this problem?
    Bit frustrating
