  • Great game - a few suggestions

Love this game. It’s addictive. Here are a few suggestions for the developers that would make it even better.

    1. Have a button that allows you to replay any random deal. I like the campaign deal, but sometimes I want to replay a random deal right after I have tried and failed to win.

    2. The campaign deals should be rated by users for their difficulty. It should also be stated whether it is possible to win.

    3. There should be a one touch button in any game that would surrender and re-deal another random deal. Too many buttons and screens to launch a new game.

    4. After a random deal is played and surrendered, there should be a way to know if it was possible to win it. Not before, but after.

    5. There should be a way to turn off the annoying Churchill video when you are Re launching the app. If you are addicted to this game and have played it a million times, even watching a few seconds and hearing the ominous music before you press skip is annoying.

    6. There should be a way to know how you rank versus all players of the game. A leader board would make it even more addictive - should be careful what i ask for.

  • Anti-entertaining

There are two metrics in which a game can be objectively evaluated: implementation quality and how much fun (or entertaining) it is.
Implementation quality is awful. Try and tap the cards for them to move. You will think you are trying a move that is not allowed. Besides, It lacks indispensable features. For example, it has no pause. You are playing against the clock and your dog asks you to go for a walk. Guess what? No pause. I will leave the lack of proper undo and hint for the other metric.
How much fun is it? Not at all. Playing a game is something we do for fun. It is that break time we give ourselves. Playing this game? You’d better pay attention because you make a bad move, your undo will cost you. You are tired, want to play a game to relax a bit. You want to hit the deck but you are unsure you have done all moves you could. In a proper game, you ask for a hint. In this game you shouldn’t, it will cost you. Yes, instead of entertaining yourself, you have to worry about spending more money, probably one of the things you wanted to forget in the first place when you decided to play a game.
Finally, have Churchill’s surviving family members really authorized to put his name on a game where money gets you promoted? Really? Is this Churchill’s model of climbing the military ranks? In this game, once you give them some money, you will get promoted. That’s a shame. Apple should not have approved this low quality rip-off scam of a game.

  • Not ready for prime time, and an IAP money grab

The good: There are parts of this I love. The story, the design - fantastic. It is appealing to the eye. The sound, which I don’t use much in games is great as well. The game icon is great.

The bad: the game is glitchy regarding the portrait/landscape orientation. Should have been set portrait and left that way. The game is also extremely difficult to the point of frustration. I have spend the last two days trying to perfect even the first paid scenario, and simply cannot.

The ugly: I don’t mind paying devs for their work. In fact, I have paid for that to the tune of 10 bucks. I however, will not pay devs for the ability to “undo”. In a game as complex as this one (two decks, eight aces), undos are a necessity, and you just monetized them because they basically are required to finish a scenario.

  • Great

I have been playing this game since it first came out on-line and I love it. It is very tricky but so pleasing when you actually win a game. There are some things that frustrate me about it, the main one being a bug that occasionally will not let you move aces up into the boxes on the top right. The only way to do it is by powering down and restarting your tablet! Very irritating! Another recent issue was that when I switched on last week there were giant red crosses on all the cards. I had to delete the app and reinstall it but when I did I lost all my 215,000 points and my position as Prime Minister. I have had to start from scratch. I will keep playing because I love it, but wish the company would fix the bugs.

  • DO NOT BUY THIS - Where are my Premium and Legend games.

Update: I’ve sent three messages to the developer to no avail. I did not receive the upgrades I purchased. I will ask Apple for a refund but it’s annoying.

I can see the cards again, and I still have the 100 Undo’s I purchased yesterday, but I also purchased Premium and Legend, and there’s no sign of either of those. I have the same 500 games I had before the update. So did I spend $9.98 for NOTHING? I’d like to cancel that purchase please. Update many hours later: Seriously, you’ve made a potload of money from me. You should be responding to my feedback (separate message) in five minutes. I’m stopping by my local Apple store tomorrow to try to resolve this. Do I care about the money? No. Do I care about how badly you screwed this up? You bet. Terrible screw up. Give me my money. Including the Undo’s. I’m done.

  • Thanks for quick action

Latest point release has completely broken game on iPad. No card faces or backs and app crashes when trying to go to settings to pick alternates. Can we have original app back? It was great a few days ago before these improvements.
UPDATE. Latest release is back to normal. Thank you. A great game again.

  • Great game and impressive developer

A challenging, addictive game that has helped pass long hours on many planes and trains. Although its easy to start playing, its real benefits come after you recognise how the cards have fallen and developed strategies for handling different situations.

I was particularly impressed with the swift response by the developer to constructive criticism regarding a recent update. Given the charitable aim of the game, this developer deserves support.

  • Terrible Treatment to a Loyal Player

I have been playing this game for months and was enjoying it. I enjoyed the challenge. I had purchased 500 decks and completed 466 and had 34 hands to go. The creators decided to implement an update that made the game unplayable. So they created an update to fix the bugs they created in the first place. In order to get the new update I had to delete the app from my phone and re-down lode to get a playable game. I followed the creators instructions and all my old data was lost. I was back at ground 0 with no wins. I had made significant in app purchases to complete games (undos) and now that’s all gone?? I get nothing?? And I have to start over?? What would be fair is to get a credit for every undo I purchased (or somehow have my old data restored) but I get nothing. I am so dissatisfied with the creators treatment to a loyal customer. Unless I get some satisfaction, I will never make an in app purchase again. Terrible customer service!!!!

  • Glad you reverted the recent update

I have probably played thousands of games using this app on my iPad Pro and am at the Peacemaker level with around 500 wins. Thank you for removing the recent updates which were very buggy. Now I can read the cards again and am able to avoid frustrating end of game bugs. Please don’t roll out any more updates without thoroughly checking them out. I still resent all the $ I’ve spent purchasing undo’s but since I keep hitting the deal button by mistake I have to use it.

  • Newest update even buggier!

I was excited to hear that the game was reverted so I tried it again. Now all the cards are nothing but a red x! Talk about unplayable. Even tried getting rid of the app and reloading it with no luck. Looks like some other reviewers are having the same problem. Please just fix this already!

I used to love this game but the newest update makes it unplayable. The color resolution is garish, making the cards hard to read. The cards now stack so tightly you can’t read what you have stacked up. Considering the strategy of the game is often times dependent on reading multiple stacks simultaneously it seems pretty counterintuitive that the ‘update’ would make the cards more difficult to read. Keeping in mind this is a difficult strategy game to begin with it seems idiotic to make the interface of the game so unpleasant. I won’t be wasting anymore of my time. Seriously disappointing.
