  • Update to my account being frozen

    Previously I posted a review of Monzo when they had frozen my account with all my money in it and no response. A few hours later I reached the UK Monzo who explained it was under review and they would let me know when they are done. Well ir suddenly hit me It's because I founded my account with my other banks debit card for $2k and my account less than a month ago. But they couldn't confirm if it's what caused my account being reviewed. So I sent them a picture of the debit card I used to pay with and my driver's license. Less than one hour later my account was unfroze. NOW I LOVE MONZO! and the fact I can add funds from my other debit cards (only mine) much easier to move funds quickly when I'm traveling to avoid the foreign transaction fees and Monzo works worldview no foreign transaction fees. Plus they can be linked to your banks via plaid. Thanks Monzo for changing my mind completely about your bank

    Dude! Would have gotten 5 stars, but I was wearing headphones right after listening to music, and still hadn’t taken them off. It was a mild volume setting but I got a notification that I received some money and it freaking blew up my ears. It was like after a concert where everything seems quiet after that and the world seems far away. Definitely should be fixed so it doesn’t shock people or damage their hearing!

    Hey there 👋 Thanks so much for the review! App notifications should have their own volume setting that you can adjust in your iOS settings. Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Make notifications quieter or louder
  • Took my money when I made a deposit

    I created an account and when I got my debit card I added money to my monzo account. I added money to my account which worked fine. THEN I tried to add my monzo card to cash app and apple pay but Monzo keeps declining both when verifying the Card is active. I tried to transfer money to my other bank account which Monzo keeps automatically cancelling or says try again in a few minutes. I messaged support but no response. I called them but nobody answers.. THIS IS RIDICULOUS GIVE ME BACK MY MONEY I'M GOING ELSEWHERE.

  • Amazing for Budgeting and Traveling

    Features that I love in Monzo after using it more than a year are instant notifications every time I spend on my Monzo card, the bright neon card color, connecting my other banks and credit cards so that I can see all of my transactions in one place. Custom categories are a life saver as they allow me to see exactly where my money is going! And Monzo is always the card that I take traveling when I’m abroad for no fees on card spend and ATM withdrawals. Their customer service are also quick to respond and super helpful! Would highly recommend!

  • Unreliable

    Ordered a card, didn’t arrive. Need to change the address since I’m moving flats and can’t do that in the app because the app is useless until your card arrives. I’ve heard the service is great which is why I was inclined to use it in the first place but setting it up has become almost unbearable. I now understand why banks have physical locations or at least humans to interact with. Calling and having to go through 5 steps just to be put on hold 10 minutes to then have to restate why you’re calling and then being told to send an email is ridiculous.

  • A lifesaver for banking & budgeting

    I absolutely love Monzo! I’ve been a customer for a few years now and honestly would be lost without them. Their envelope budgeting tool (Pots) has been essential to me for saving and budgeting my money plus so much more. I highly recommend Monzo! I haven’t had a brick & mortar bank in years and I do not miss it at all.

  • Fraud

    I caution those who are thinking of banking with Monzo. First I tried for over a month to call the bank about fraud on my account. Their number outs on hold and then disconnects after a few minutes. I then notified them of the fraud via their app. Without investigating they then proceeded to close my account and blocked my access. The money remaining in the account was never transferred not to mention losing thousabds to fraud in which Monzo refused to do anything but retaliate.

  • Great so far

    I love Monzo so far. Everything is quick and intuitive. Every once in a while it’ll take a bit longer than usual to refresh balances. Shoutout to front and back end engineers for their work on this!
  • Don’t even bother!!

    Don’t even bother signing up with this company, they give you the run around and give you false information! I had 4 different people tell me 4 different things, had 4 referrals I had sign up before the promotion changed and they completed all the requirements and didn’t get paid anything and neither did they. Don’t even waste your time!!! Customer service is NO help at all!

  • Beware!

    Do not get this app. Do not do this trap. The in app customer service is inefficient. They are extremely unresponsive. This is via email and their preferred in app chat service. Your signup process will be inexplicably delayed and any information you’ve provided will become their property “for a few years( the exact timeline can vary depending on specific details of your signup)”. They have all of your information but YOU can never reach them in a reasonable amount of time. Just save yourself the time and stress and DO NOT sign up for this.
