  • Midea Dehumidifier

    Amazon delivered my media dehumidifier today. In less than 30 minutes, I had to unpacked the dehumidifier connected it to power and connected it to my network and set up my schedules. The unit is now working perfectly. I am very satisfied with this new dehumidifier and I highly recommend you consider it.

    It’s my first wifi air conditioner I am glad it’s easy to use it is so convenient I can operate it with my mobile phone. I am going to replace my other Air conditioners with this new wifi technology. Happy with it

  • Requires location to be turned on

    Why would location information be required to connect to wifi unless there is something nefarious going on? There is absolutely positively NO reason location information is needed to setup one of your devices!

    Your response is bogus too! You said location services “is only accessed to support normal functions of the app”. After downloading and running the app, the first screen notification that comes up is “Unable to Add Device. Without access to location information SmartHome cannot obtain wireless network information and you will not be able to add devices”. You DO NOT NEED access to location to obtain wireless network information!! Scan for wifi!

    Showing the weather is not a valid reason for requiring precise location services to be turned on. I don’t want to get my weather from this app!

    You also state it is for triggered events. I will decide if I use those features. Don’t require me to give you information YOU DON’T NEED! Period! You don’t need my location! Do not require it!

When you want to connect your device to the App, we need to scan the nearby devices and WLAN network through your Location Services to connect your device to the Internet. 2. We can also provide you with weather and other information services according to your Location Services. 3. When you want to enable the "When location changes" of the smart device automation, we need you to turn on Precise Location and always allow the application to access your location, in order to monitor if the trigger of this automation is satisfied. We will strictly protect your privacy. Please refer to our Privacy Policy. You can change your Location Services settings in system settings at any time. To provide you with the best support, please reach out to customerserviceusa@midea.com or contact our support team through the “Feedback” function under the “Help” menu in the App with the product type and screenshots if exists.

  • Space Age Dehumidifier

    For something so affordable, I was surprised by how many great features the item has, especially that it is a smart device that came with a free app that downloaded to my iPhone, and I can use it to control the dehumidifier from anywhere with an Internet connection.

    I can see how humid the house is. I can schedule the device to turn on or off at specific times or specific conditions, such as if the temperature goes above a certain amount, and it tells me when the water receptacle is full and shuts off the machine.

    There are literally no worries with this, and the app gives me the comfort of being able to keep an eye on it when I’m at work. Complete peace of mind, just because of an app.

    I didn’t understand the beauty of smart devices until I got this thing. Now I want my whole house to be smart.
