    I have never been a runner and consider myself quite the beginner. This app has made it incredibly easy to monitor progress over time and eases you into running in an enjoyable and achievable way. I aim to continue using this app to achieve all of my running goals and I am confident it will be able to meet my needs.

  • This app is amazing for beginning runners!

    I’m not a runner. I actually hate running, but I’m in my 40’s now and getting fat - I needed to take action. This app has completely changed my attitude towards running, and I look forward to my time on the treadmill. It gently increases the ratio of run:walk, and allows you to return to an easier level until you’re ready to move up. GET THIS APP!! It will change your life.

  • Great beginner’s app

    I have never run in my life and decided as a middle-aged person to start. I love how simple this app is - I didn’t want any bells and whistles. Just something to get me going. Every time the next workout adds an extra minute of running I start out totally convinced I can’t do it, but always manage to and even feel like I could go further. Highly recommend.

  • Free-ish?

    Don’t be fooled, the app will ask for more commitment from you as time goes on in order to maintain the free version (share with a friend, write a review, etc). I’m at stage 2 - write a review - so I don’t know if these options disappear in the future. As others have mentioned, the app announces every minute with a muting of whatever music/audio you’re listening to. So far, I'm happy with the app.

  • Perfect to retrain the body

    I was a runner years ago and just needed something easy to get back into running/jogging with. I’m absolutely loving the simplicity of this app. It beeps, talks to you, and is generally the best running app I’ve had in a while. Can’t wait to slowly work my way through all the levels!

    This app has been amazing to get me back into running with out the pain and temptation to uptick distance too fast and get injured. It is good for beginners and seasoned athletes that have been out of training.
  • Good starting point!

    As a person who used to run and has taken a few years off I was struggling to get back into a grove. The Start Running app has been a really great tool to get me back on my feet! The slow progression and mandatory warm up and cool down walking periods are great for staving off injury and getting the heart rate up. Even for someone overweight and out of shape this has been a fun, safe, and still challenging start to getting my fitness back! Thanks Start Running!

  • Great for biginners

    I love this app, it takes you on your journey in really easy to manage steps. I’ve tried another app that takes you from the sofa to 5k, but the increases were too steep too quickly, yes you can repeat weeks, that just made me feel worse. In my honest opinion this one is so much better, I feel like I’m improving every time I go out for a run, instead of feeling like a failure because I couldn’t do it. It’s also helped me to stay motivated to carry on with my running. I highly recommend this app to beginners, you won’t regret starting this program.
