  • Gemini

    I think it is great.
It could have been even better if it displayed the geographical location along with the date.
  • WOW!

Downloaded this app awhile ago then forgot about it. Going thru all my apps today to delete ones I wasn’t using & couldn't even remember what this app was about. After reading the description decided to try it out. I have over 24K pics, videos etc on my phone! Aye yi -yi! I just haven’t taken time (ob) to delete ANY over the years although many are dupts, blurry etc. The task was too daunting! The only feature I’ve used so far on this app is the one that shows all blurry pics-what’s nice is it allows you to de-select the ones you still want to keep. It instantly allowed me to delete all the blurry pics I didn’t want-that alone would have taken a LONG time-out of 24K it’s a relatively low number-300 but still! It breaks all photos into groups of duplicates, similar, blurry, videos, screen shots. Now, I love my doggo but really, do I NEED over 10K pics of him?? My next project with this app is to attack my Dupts-that will almost be FUN! Looking forward to “spring-cleaning” my phone!! Thanks Gemini!!

  • Great at the start - support is terrible

I used the free trial and it was great to get my photos down and my camera roll looked great with the key highlights of moments. Then I paid the yearly fee and then the app started crashing when ever I accessed the videos tab. I contacted the support email and they advised to delete and download the app again (reflicking thousands of photos was not fun). I advised them it didn’t fix the issue and then radio silence. They have not bothered replying to any of my emails and clearly didn’t read my first email given the half cocked response I got. Will be seeking a refund and recommend you look for another app that does the same thing because in the end this app is worthless if it simply crashes and they don’t support you. Save your money.

  • Not Ready For Prime Time

I am generally a big fan of the Gemini software for helping find duplicate files, and I have it on both my iMac and MacBook. However, the app is not ready for prime time.

Because photos and screenshots can be slightly different or edited versions of themselves, I didn’t trust the program to correctly identify doubles/multiples. And I am glad I didn’t!

While it picked duplicates correctly enough, “Similars” is a disaster, and weren’t even close.

Don’t trust your images to wholesale deletion. I got tired of reviewing and unmarking photos for deletion. It would almost be better to keep them.

Screenshots with text are even worse.

This app has merit, and will likely be improved over time. But it DEFINITELY isn’t worth paying money for - I’m glad I tried it during its paltry three-day trial period.

Additionally, it would be super handy to have an app that would review and find duplicates in Google Photos too!

Stay away from this for now, or try the three-day trial and immediately go to settings and cancel an automatic subscription renewal while you test it for yourself.

  • Very useful tool

This is great!! I was in despair over my photos. Over 12,000, just out of control. Multiple duplicates, dumb videos, including random mistakes like my feet as I’m walking, not realizing my video was on. Lots of what the call “similars,” where I shoot. Scene or person multiple times to get the best shot.....in short, this app temporarily sorts your photos when you hit a category like “similar.” Then it show you the 4 shots of your
Mom that you took at your sister’s wedding and dubs one of them the best. Then I glance at the others, to see if I agree. Usually I agree and hit the button that discards the others. (You can also recover them if you went too fast.) or select a different one. The app is ALWAYS correct on the technical aspects, but you may like one take better because Aunt Judy was in the shot and that’s the only shot you have of them together. Or you can keep several of the “simillars” and dump a few. You’re always in control. You can work on those photos for 10 min while you’re waiting for something. I have dumped almost half my photos in just a couple of weeks using it between other activities. Whoever developed this is my kind of a genius.

  • Generally love it, but it can be slow

Sometimes as I’m going thru, it’ll start “refreshing” and scroll me back to the beginning of the folder/album. That can be frustrating and makes me put the app down for a while.

However, it’s a great idea overall and pretty easy to comprehend. I’ve defeated thousands of photos/videos using this app and have been able to postpone paying $10/month for cloud storage for about 6 months now. So, the app has paid for itself.

My one “I really really really wish they had this” is like a daily sort. Like, where you can filter thru the pictures from that one day in you photo history and clean them out each day. Kind of like Time Hop, but only photos (not social media) and specifically to delete unneeded images. I’m very “maintain the streak” motivated and I think I would be more apt to regularly use the app if that were the case. This is the primary reason I’m leaving a review. I never review apps.

  • Takes forever to delete photos

With what this app may do, it seemed great. Within 5 minutes it analyzed my photos and videos and separated them into groups for my review to keep or delete. Loved it.
Spent a short tome going through screen shots and clicking what I wanted to save. Loving it so far.
986 pictures to go. Wow! That’s great. Clicked on delete and 45 minutes later it’s still “supposedly” deleting my pictures. Hmmmmm... seems fishy. Makes me feel as though they’re being sent somewhere else. After an hour without any % of it being done, I deleted the app.
For it taking less than 5 minutes to group all my stuff, but more than an hour to delete it just didn’t seem right. Don’t trust it and won’t use it.
Too bad.... it seemed like a great app.

  • A hard chore made simple and quick

I had over 8,000 photographs in my Photos library. I had been trying to manually clean out duplicates, but didn’t get very far. I now have closer to 6,000 after Gemini identified duplicates, blurred photos, and other potential “why’d I ever keep this” images.

Not quite perfect, Gemini too often identified a time series of photos as duplicates, especially the sunsets and tropical animals I shot while on vacation. But by showing the shots and a suggested keep/delete it still sped up the process greatly. Gemini does mark keep if I decide to keep more than one of the duplicates. It does not, however, do the same for screenshots or blurred which, increasingly, includes iPhone photos using portrait mode.

I still use Gemini after that initial cleaning. It is most useful following a photo session and before editing to identify which of the many photos are worth editing.

  • Trial period so far but loving it!

This app is amazing at sorting out duplicates and other similar photos! Really easy to review and clean the clutter. The library scan is also quite fast! I have about 45,000 photos and I was reviewing similar photos within minutes. Price is a bit steep, and I am not sure I’ll get the paid version. Would definitely pay 10£ for this but 33£ lifetime is too much. As far as functionality, though: couldn’t find better 👍

  • It would be awesome... If it worked.

I don't tend to leave reviews, but when I pay for something, I expect it to work flawlessly, and this app quite simply - doesn't. My main issue is that it doesn't automatically update the photo library even though it has the 'photo radar' which just doesn't do anything, it's always on 0. All the folders are on 0, and I have to actively go into the folder and wait for it to update, which it takes a long time to do so!! And even then, if I exit the app, it resets itself with everything back at 0... So it just doesn't work. When it does, it's great, but I can't say it saves me any time with all the waiting.
I've been a paying customer for a while but I am now seriously contemplating cancelling the subscription since it is clearly not worth it.

Oh... And it drains the battery like nothing else!!!
