  • Frustrating experience

It’s amazing that a luxury car company like Lexus would have their app developed by people who can’t seem to understand the basics of usability. And it’s even harder to believe Lexus seems completely uninterested in trying to make it better.

Like most everyone else I would like to know why the Watch app displays the login prompt at all? Why is the majority of the screen taken up by a large picture of a car? There’s no reason the first page needs the crown to scroll to the options. Most people probably only have one car tied to their accounts making the huge image pointless.

For the iPhone app, again we don’t need a huge image of a car taking up the screen. The vehicle tab could probably be condensed enough to eliminate the need to scroll, even on an iPhone Mini. Distance to Empty could be put on the Vehicle Status button. Why does the find tab have a huge slider that says “No data found” that can’t be dismissed?

Where you need to go to find/do something isn’t always clear, some bits of info are in more than one place when they don’t need to be, and the “To switch vehicles” reminder won’t go away on its own.

Non luxury car companies do this better.

  • This app is so slow and frustrating

I’ve had my Lexus for 3 years and I’ve been paying for this app, I rarely use it but I feel like when I most need it, it doesn’t work for me. Many times it keeps saying make sure your vehicle is in range and I’m like 10 feet away and I’m just being lazy to get up and get my keys. Many other times it just won’t complete the commands. It need a huge upgrade, otherwise I’m going to stop paying for it if it’s only going to work when it wants and not when I need it.

  • Worst app on my phone

Please tell me why “for security reasons you have been logged out” even if “keep me logged in”
This is a weekly water problem…

When a car has been started through remote start there is NO, indications it’s on by looking at the car.
Most brands have daytime running lights or auxiliary lights indicating it’s running.

    (biggest, pet peeve and safety)
Why won’t the car auto lock after I’ve turned the car off, like all the other brands? I know they can do it, but they choose not to.

Turn off the Wi-Fi on a car and I still get Wi-Fi error messages every time the car starts.

You would be an absolute fool to pay Lexus for app service. Especially after talking to their clueless service departments or App Techs

  • not really enough to say its worth the money

like some others I hesitate to ever update the app because something ends up not working until the next update. it works well once you get a good update though. I had it say my trunk was open for about 1 month until they released a new version. before that experience it would show the wrong location of the car in the map. thankfully it all went away an update ago. Hopefully glitches can be realized quicker in the future so that updates can be trusted to download. also know several other car makers that give this app free with even better options. it really should have something special for the price.

  • Lexus please update your app

Lots of connectivity issues. Reached out to dealer and app phone number. No resolution as this is the best it is currently. App should have features like turning heat and cool air on, changing temperature, setting seat temperature, rolling windows up or down, lights on or off, time the remote starter can turn on and how long it runs should be adjustable by the owner, etc. Other companies, non luxury brands and aftermarket basic apps offer this already. For paying a premium on the vehicle this should be included. Lexus please think of your guest experience and hospitality. You used to be all about that. I know you’ve done a lot of improvements and changes over the years. I love my cars and wish the app was better. Thanks.

  • Lexus does NOT have a navigation app, offers a mediocre third party phone app

We just bought a Lexus NX that advertised it comes with navigation. We discovered that Lexus NX actually does not have a navigation app. In reality, it uses a third party phone app called Scout GPS that’s mediocre and looks really outdated. You have to use that off your phone, like Apple CarPlay or the Google Car app, but it’s of inferior quality and far behind the Apple and Google apps, so you’re far better off using those.

I’m definitely not buying a Lexus again, with such outdated technology.

  • Just let me start the car from my fob… This rarely works

This app fails to do what it is supposed to do on a regular basis. All I need is to be able to do a remote start because I often leave my dog in the car when I am running errands and a previous version I had a fob from which I could do remote start without fail. this app is the opposite. It mostly fails.

I find it interesting that the financial payment app that this company offers has five star reviews and the one that supposed to be to operate the car does not. You know where they’re putting their money… This company allegedly cares about its customers. I don’t see the proof.

  • App stopped providing decent services

Terrible customer service and app not working as marketed. In past on my menu dashboard I had more categories such as pulse and a map showing where car last parked. Currently those services are no longer available. The ability to see car health ie pulse, tire pressures, odometer readings are missing. We are so disappointed in the quality of this expensive app. I would not recommend this service unless you are satisfied paying and not getting advertised services.

  • Total garbage

1- I was able to finally use the app as a remote to open and start the car. So I went on a trip and the battery of my phone died. I charged the phone and when it turned on the app no longer was sync with the car!. I could not turn the car on!!!🤬🤬🤬 I had to get a ride to pick up the key. If that is intended as a security feature I would’ve like to have a heads up during set up of the digital key instead of finding out in the middle of no where.

So why didn’t you have the key with you just in case???? 🤔You might ask. Well, the car won’t lock when it detects a key inside even if you are locking it from the phone.

2- it is SUPER SLOW. Holy cow why is this thing so slow?

3- The digital key feature only works when the app is open or very recently opened. I turned on app refreshed and turned it on for the Lexus app and still you have to open the app so the thing works.

4- the Send to Car feature to send destinations to the car does not work with Google Maps and when you use it with Apple Maps if there is a similar address in 2 different cities the car will assume you want the nearest city and show you navigation there.

  • I can’t even buy it.

I abandoned the app when it stopped being free after my purchase of my brand new luxury car. I only used, or tried to use, it for starting the car - because it’s Northeast US and you know…winter. So I tried again today just to see - since my wife’s regular old non luxury car came with a starter on the key fob.

I tried to add remote subscription for 8$/month, significantly more than the 0$/ month my wife’s key fob costs us. Navigate to payment screen after verifying everything.

Error message. Cannot complete the operation at this time. It’s like the software gods know the app won’t work and are intervening to protect my 8$.
