I highly recommend this app, for helping you to find local cat carers. The app makes it easy to find someone who has listed availability in your timeframe. (I like that you only see pet sitters who have already listed themselves as available, so you don’t have the hassle of back-&-forth to find someone who is “free” when you need them.) You can look at reviews, ratings, profiles… The customer service is also great; I once changed a reservation from W/Th/Fr to Th/Fr/Sat, by messaging in-app with my pet-sitter, and once Customer Service confirmed we were both ok with the change, it was easy to do.

One concern is that my refund on an cancelled trip with weeks advanced notice was retained as a balance with them rather than back to my card. Not sure if that’s a changeable option that I missed, but wanted to alert others as something to explore.
I had a hard time going through the sitter profiles on other more popular sites. A lot of the other sites focus on dogs more than cats. As a former dog owner, I know dogs & cats are very different when it comes to caring for them & leaving them when going away. I was happy to find Meowtel & was much more comfortable leaving my kitties with someone who has experience with cats, especially for my first time.
The percentage they take from sitters is higher than on other apps. The tier system allows you to make more *WITH THE SAME CLIENT*- you make more if the same person books multiple appointments, from my experience most people go with new sitters each time. As far as I know there is no effort on the side of the app to refer clients back to the same person. I’m sure the app creators would say that it’s likely based on availability, but the app should suggest to client that if you liked the person who cat sit for you before you should message them to see if their availability is flexible. A lot is put on the sitter when they only make their set price for visits, you don’t make anything for corespondents or for initial meet ups(or key hand off and returning). You “make your own prices” but you have to be on par with other sitters on the app, personally I think we are all undercutting ourselves based on the percentage taken out of our pay. Also unless you only want your cat fed and litter cleaned, book more than a 20 minute visit- that is not enough time for every(most) cats to get comfortable enough to play.

It was a comfort and a relief to know with total certainty that my special needs kitty was cared for above and beyond in our absence. Daily updates and pictures reassured us that he was well looked after but the way he wanted to be near her in the photos was an amazing bonus.
The app is easy to navigate and the support has been excellent. I can’t say enough wonderful things about our sitter Dana. Truly the best.
Cats are unlike any other pet and the fact this app is specific to the needs of cats and their owners is amazing. I’ve found some pretty amazing sitters through this service and I rarely leave reviews and even more rare I give a 5-star rating. Yes, the app itself can use some work in being more stable but the peace of mind I get knowing I have a cat sitter available for my cat will overcome the 1-star deduction I would have otherwise deducted. Keep up the great work and improving the app experience.
Loved the professionalism of Meowtel. I was given many options to fit my needs and a variety of sitters! The meet and greet before hand is perfect and I was so happy with Ruth ! She took great care of my cats and provided daily updates and pictures for my peace of mind while away. I will definitely use Meowtel again and refer this service to all my friends and family!
Was having trouble finding accommodations specific for cats. Wag says they can take cats but their profile still shows dogs, meaning the service doesn’t really care to make it an option to personalize the experience for both types of animals. Love the profiles with the sitters and Stacy in Jacksonville took care of my cat so well while I was on vacation. I recommend this app to all cat owners!
While there are some improvements to be made to the app searching/booking experience, the service is absolutely wonderful. I’ve used 3 sitters so far both overnights and extended check-ins and they’ve been AMAZING. Knowing you’re getting paired with absolute cat lovers every time to watch your babies is such a wonderful service to have available to me!
This app save my life and gave me such a piece of mind when traveling and having to leave my cat alone. The App is so easy to use, and very secure, and insured. Our sitter was absolutely amazing, communicated with me the whole time and sent lovely pictures of my sweet fur baby. I also love that this app is only for cats, that way I know when my sitter comes she will know how to handle my pets needs. Best app in the world, designed for cat people!!
