We had to find a last-minute cat sitter for our 2 senior boy kitties and Meowtel came up in a search. After reading about the company and the reviews of local available sitters, we booked our reservation with ease and everything felt very safe and professional. Our sitter, Gregg, took wonderful care of our cats and our apartment with a couple visits per day, and I loved that he sent us daily updates with pictures! I definitely recommend this app and will certainly be using it again if ever we do not have friends or family that can step in to help out.
Working as a sitter for Meowtel has been SUCH a wonderful experience. I absolutely love meeting the cat parents, and they’re always so appreciative and happy to see me. And the cats! It’s so much fun getting to interact with so many different purrsonalities. My clients can truly enjoy their time away knowing that their fur babies are being truly cared for and loved on. And that makes me feel that I’m making a meaningful difference in their lives. The Meowtel team is super supportive and fast to respond to any questions or concerns. We were in a bind having not found a caretaker for our kitten, and luckily a friend recommended Meowtel. I’m sure peoples experiences vary depending on their caretaker, but ours was an actual angel on earth.
For me the app experience was easy & seamless, from booking to payment to communication. The support team was very responsive when I had to adjust my booking times too.
Our cat sitter was fantastic, prompt and I felt very comfortable with her in our home and with our kitten. She went above & beyond for us and we are so grateful!
I had always resorted to having a friend watch my two cats while I was away; however, I had no choice recently but to look for a cat sitting service since my friend was unavailable to visit. I did my research and found Meowtel. Turns out that Meowtel’s cat sitters are vetted and are actually avid cat lovers as well! I found a wonderful cat sitter in my area and reached out to her. She quickly responded and we set up a meet and greet the very next day so that I could meet her and introduce her to my cats. She was very attentive, asked thoughtful questions, and had a quiet confidence about her. My cats also warmed up to her quickly! I was send pictures and videos of my cats on visit days and this gave me great peace of mind. I really wish I found Meowtel sooner as I’d much rather pay an avid cat lover to visit my cats than feel like I’m bothering a friend with a request that they’d rather not do.

Thank mew so much for taking the time to share your experience and we'll see you on Meowtel soon!They are not very efficient in their screening process but blame it on the fact that they only accept 10% of applicants. They do not respond quickly and apparently there is a time clock on you and your application. The app in itself doesn’t save all of your information if you’re not fully vetted but that seems to be the applicants problem and not them. When you give references, if they are not waiting by the phone and answer them immediately then good luck getting a hold of them, and they’ll move on to the next application. So beware, and just apply elsewhere to be honest. READ ALL the reviews and you will see similar stories. Best to just build clientele in other apps like nextdoor etc and you don’t have to be robbed of your cut. And their response will again, be to not take responsibility for anything. I know, shocking. This is written from someone who has had 15yrs of sitting experience but what do I know?! Lol.

I received a ton of bookings for drop-in visits over the Thanksgiving holiday, and I had such a fabulous time taking care of all of the sweet kitties — and the earnings were fantastic! The Meowtel app and website are equipped with all of the essential features to make it super-easy as a sitter, and the company has many highly effective business policies in place to ensure top-notch experiences for both sitters and cat owners. Every now and then, the app lags a bit when I try to send photos to owners in the inbox — but other than that, I have no complaints whatsoever! I am so thrilled to have joined Meowtel as a sitter, and I thank everyone involved for creating such a marvelous resource!

We're working on continuing to improve the app experience and if there's anything else we can do to make your experience better, we're an email or phone call away.I tags to say, tye good thing about this app is that it inspired me to connect with other local pet sitters and work together , because this is just another exploitative app designed by people who don’t know how to design apps, banking on being the combo McDonalds/Uber of catsitting.
As a sitter…this app takes 30%, which means if you don’t want to drastically underprice/undervalue your labors and experience to get clients through this app, good luck. I’ll stick to my local clients through word of mouth rather than offering poverty level rates to compete with unskilled sitters who are undercutting actual professionals.
The onboarding experience is ridiculous. They want you to give several references, but not personal ones. I gave professional pet sitting references and they asked them questions like “if this person lost your keys, what would they do?” and asked them what else I do for a living…why would a professional client know that???
When it came time for my final zoom onboarding with Meowtel, my attempts to log in got me “host not ready” messages…then I got an auto email saying I wasn’t approved because I didn’t make the meeting. Lololol
If you want a good cat sitter…reach out locally. Talk to your neighbors. If you find someone through this app, they are getting ripped off trying to offer your kitties care. Everyone deserves better than this.

We will be in touch if we decide to open up applications to 2nd time candidates. MEOWTEL takes time to check the sitters. My references were checked. I was interviewed and had a trial period.
Meowtel is serious about what they are looking for in a sitter. They want sitters who are responsible and who aren’t just looking to make a quick buck. People get turned down for not being what Meowtel is seeking in a sitter.
I feel safer when I hire a sitter because I know how well I was vetted. I know references are actually spoken to, and sitters are given standards of care.
As a sitter I know that if I am not doing a proper job that I will not be allowed to continue sitting on their platform. I know that I am focused on cats and cat people with this app.
MEOWTEL supports me as a sitter and as an owner. The app works well. If for some reason it is freezing, I know that I can uninstall it and reinstall.
I’ve tried other popular apps/sites for finding cat sitters but most of them focus on dogs. I love all furry friends but cats have different needs. The sitters I have found here completely understand cat behavior and I trust them 100% with my special needs kitty. 10/10 recommend. Only suggestion would be to fix the app. It’s slow to load and not very user friendly. Minor inconvenience for an overall great service.
I think Meowtel is successfully addressing a niche part of the pet sitting business by locating and vetting sitters who have a particular passion for/expertise in cats. Cats can be trickier than dogs: your average dog is going to love whomever takes it for a walk! Cats are more discerning and can’t be won over as easily. This app allowed me to cut out all the sitters whose primary interest is dogs, and focus my attention on sitters who are likely to be as obsessed with cats as I am. 😊🐈⬛ I have never (and I mean never) had better, more devoted, loving, patient care for my cats than I did with my Meowtel sitter. She actually played with my cats. A lot. And enjoyed the challenge of winning them over. I was 99% sure just from what she wrote in her bio that she was the right sitter for me, and I turned out to be 100% correct. The app itself is fun and easy to use. Don’t hesitate to use Meowtel to find your next great cat sitter!
