  • Fake reviews

Update: They doubled down and defended their shady practices so I looked deeper. There are many examples of mass 5 star reviews that all appear on the same days. They are clearly faked to improve the app rating. Avoid this dishonest company and their questionable products at all costs!

Original: All of the 20+ reviews on Feb 22nd are 5 star. Most other reviews are 1-2 stars and are much less clumped together date wise. Such an obvious attempt to increase the app rating and fool potential buyers. Why not make the app and products good so they can generate natural good reviews? Buyer beware.

  • Not So Great

One of the things I liked most about the old app is that all of your information was on one screen. Having to individually click through weight, BMI, body fat, metabolic age, etc is not efficient. I understand clicking individually to see trends, but the at-a-glance view of the most recent numbers is really lacking in this new app.

The same goes for measurements/ circumstance. Why isn’t there a way to see all of my latest measurements on my screen?

Also, this seemingly took away the ability to be connected with one’s person community (family and friends) and added a “community” tab full of strangers. New app looks nice, but is definitely lacking in areas that the old app possessed.

  • Works fine as a sale but…

I don’t actually think it measures anything beyond how much you weight. I think it has predetermined measurements (BF, Water, Protein, etc…) for every weight. It said a weight I had 3 weeks ago and a weight I weighed today (they were the same weight) had the exact same BF, water composition, Protein. Etc…

  • Multi user issue

My wife weight gets “intelligently” assigned to me. I cannot find a way to move it to her data. Otherwise it a nice program.

While I can delete from mine and manually add to my wife, it will never do it automatically until our weight difference exceeds the programs setting for “intelligently” assigning. There should be option to turn it off or transfer settings between users! Old app was better and full screen on iPad!

  • Apple Watch Ultra 2 data sharing issue

This app and the associated scales are usually easy to use. However I have encountered an issue while taking weight measurements in the Apple Watch app, when taking a measurement the data does not sync to apple health. It remains recorded locally in the renpho health Apple Watch app, and in the iPhone renpho health app, but will not show via apple health. When taking a measurement using an iPhone the data syncs immediately with apple health. It would be great if I could only use my watch when recording health.

Hi customer, After measuring data on the Apple watch, you need to click "Start Measurement" on the mobile APP, and then the data on the watch will be transferred to the Apple watch. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us(support@renpho.com)
  • Not syncing data with apple health

Old app syncs data better with apple health than this one. I downloaded this because old app doesn’t support renpho tape measure. Seems like in gives bit inaccurate measurements with measure tape as well

    Developer Response

After installing Renpho Health App and logging in successfully for the first time, a pop-up will prompt to ask whether to allow Renpho Health to access all your health data, please tap Allow in the upper right corner; 2. • Useless, won't connect to Renpho Scale

Old app worked fine. This app, aside from losing 2+ years of trends (thanks a lot), connects to scale then disconnects every time I step on. Don't waste your money on the scale and don't waste your time with the app.

    Developer Response

Dear customer, If you weigh multiple times during the day, the app can keep all the measurements. In the trends display, it will default to display the most recent weigh-in for a given day. If you want to check the trends, please follow the steps below: 1. Open your app, under the "Home" page, click "Weight"/"Body fat" Column to enter the "Trends" section. 2. Swipe the icons of various indicators at the bottom of the page left or right. 3. The trend chart will display the reading trend of each indicator. If you have any other questions, please contact us(support@renpho.com).
  • Bluetooth problems

Amazing that Apple lets this app continue to operate when it’s been known for ages that this app interrupts Bluetooth audio connectivity from other apps. This supposed health app has made taking walks or going to the gym a sensory and mental nightmare because my Bluetooth connection keeps cutting out for 5-10 seconds at a time while I’m listening to podcasts, books, or music specifically due to this app.

Edit: Ignore the response from the developer under this review. Turning off background refresh does not help. The only the thing helps is turning off Bluetooth for the app or removing it entirely.

  • Friends equaled accountability. You took that away!

Not being able to conveniently see all my friends together every day, to see how they are doing and how much I need to work on my losing weight was the best part of your app? I absolutely hate this new app and I’m looking for a new scale that has a great friend connection like you had on the old app. Can you bring that back? Please bring our joy back.

  • Awful

Loved the old app. Never had an issue. This new one will not hold my information from my last weigh in. It’s happened 3 weeks in a row. I get on and all the previous information is deleted from my history. So I have no trends, nothing to show me how much I’ve gained or lost because it’s like I’ve stepped on for the first time. So disappointing. I’ve used the previous app and it was great. I don’t understand why the change to this one that does not work. I will have to look for another scale and an app that works with it.
