This app is indeed great but still in development. As stated in the title, watch tutorials on social media platforms first rather than getting upset because you were figuring it out yourself and wasted a lot of time. Okay. I’m gonna be completely honest, I really like this app! I do think it’s better than most animating apps seeing as we have more brushes, tools, and options at our disposal! But with the way some of the things are splayed out, it’s just a difficult app to navigate, I’ve gotten used to it over time, but I had to watch tutorials from other people just to find out where a specific thing was because how odd it was to get to it. I do think a few things should be changed about it, like how you have to group things to move them all at once and how you can’t resize things in the drawing area (that one makes me the most upset because I hate having to erase and redraw something I drew perfectly the first time just to move it a few places to the left or right or just to make it bigger or smaller) and that we have to make things into actual audio files instead of the app being able to just take audio from videos and things of that sort.
I do think this is a great app overall! There is a few things that needs to be fixed, which is way it’s getting 4/5 stars, but keep up the good work!Show less𝙴𝚛𝚛𝚘𝚛

We need a transform tool in Drawing mode (on the top left like in regular procreate), onion skin frames when you are transforming, and also making drawing shapes easier (like in procreate where you draw a line and hold it there and it makes it straight). Otherwise great app!Bunti 2

As a massive fan of procreate, started years ago with no experience with digital art and now I use it in so many different areas and I get to create things I would never of thought possible.
I’m now learning how to animate. I haven’t done anything like this before either but I love a challenge that involves developing skills. I’ve seen lots of moaning that it’s not as packed out with all the tools etc as procreate but they will come and this app (just like procreate) will just get better and better!

I’ll start this off by saying that i am a frequent user of Procreate, and i use it nearly every day, so i’m quite familiar with the app. As someone who recently got this, i’ll have to say it seems good at first, until you try drawing.
In my opinion, since this is “Procreate” Dreams, then it should have the majority of Procreate’s features, and one that is prominently missing: Shapes. You can’t draw a circle, triangle, square, polyline, etc. and make it a perfect one via editing it here, while in Procreate you could edit one without needing to use the selection tool (another feature this is missing, for now at least)
The pressure is very pesky, because you have to nearly crack your iPad screen to make an opaque line. Since this is an early version of the app, i’ll leave it at 3 stars for what it is.Show lessralsei627

Hi ralsei627 - QuickShape and some other features sadly haven't quite made it into the release version of Procreate Dreams, but we are actively working toward getting them included as soon as we are able. However, you should not be experiencing pressure issues. Could you check your Movie Settings (tap movie title) > Preferences > Pressure and Smoothing and check if your app pressure needs adjusting?Great app just missing a lasso and auto shape tool!
I love Procreate Dreams because it is really great for improving your animation (or if you’re starting to learn how to animate), after you learn the controls first. I am sad that there is no lasso tool for specific areas (there is a resize feature but it messes with the entire layer that is currently selected) because it would make it easier. There’s also no auto shapes (in Procreate you can draw a line or shape and hold it down for awhile and it will automatically make the line/shape better) but other than that it’s a great app. For anyone who doesn’t know yet there is a stabilization feature. It’s in the settings which you access by going into your creation, clicking the name of your creation, then go to preferences, and at the top should be a “pressure and smoothing” option then from there you can adjust the stabilization. In the settings is where you control lots of things about your animation, so it’s important to know how to get there. Settings is where you control the fps (how fast you want the frames to go), and if you want it to loop, ping pong, or one shot you can do that in settings (plus many other things). Overall great app! I’m giving this software five stars because, while there are plenty of features still missing, it’s still very new and the developers are putting in so much work to give us an amazing tool at such an affordable price and it will only get better with more updates. I’ve been using Procreate for a long time, so I was hoping for a lot of the same tools, like the selection tool, resizing, warping, liquify, merging layers by pinching them together and a few others. Colour drop filling doesn’t colour to the edges, so you have to go in afterwards and tidy it. Hope that will be fixed soon. But overall, this is the most excited I’ve been about an app. Congratulations, Procreate! I think you might have resuscitated 2d animationShow lessuser234621

Down on my knees begging for you to add basic stuff like a selection/transform tool and the ability to use onion skin outside of the drawing option. I genuinely cannot use this app until those are added and it’s upsetting it’s been out for almost 2 months now and a super basic feature is still missing
Please also add UI settings, I am left handed and it is extremely difficult to use the brushes when the controls are on the left side of the screen.
Other things I’d love to see would be custom easing options and basic effects like stroke and glow etcShow lessQuicksilversass

Dreams has potential to be a great app for simple animation but it currently lacks a great deal of tools and configuration settings which are standard in Procreate. There are also some strange brush rendering issues depending on the zoom of the camera.
I have faith the app will do great, procreate is great at simplifying artistic programme tools and making them very conventional and user friendly - but I believe currently it would benefit from the selections/actions/adjustments toolbars and user interface which Procreates standard app contains.
If this app functioned exactly like Procreate with all the animation timeline benefits, I think it would be a perfect app.Show lessSam.shepherd

Was so excited for the release of this app alongside my purchase of an iPad. It’s unfortunately more pared back than I thought it would be- in a very counter intuitive way. It’s strange that I feel like animating on procreate actually was easier and more straightforward. I am a professional video editor and have used after effects and other key framing programs, so it’s not that there’s an overwhelming learning curve...it kind of just needs to be better. As many have mentioned, no lasso selection tool is mind boggling. I took a break from disappointment and just returned today to do some short animation tests to give it another chance, but I can’t even select a track without the app crashing. This is a new iPad Pro, it has an m2 chip and the storage isn’t cluttered…. BewilderingShow lesssashlaam

If you have time, please head to Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements > Analytics Data, then find the most recent Dreams.ips file (check the timestamp). If you tap on this, then tap the share icon in the top right, please export this and send it through to us via procre.at/support. We're doing our best to isolate and remedy stability problems where possible, so this might help out. Also, we are planning to add Selections in the future, too! 😄
