  • Water heater away function

    Well I’m 8000 miles away from my home. In the last week my away status keeps getting flipped back to I’m home! Did you guys even test this? I had to disable the unit. I’m away 3 more weeks and can’t rely that the server maintains my settings. Extremely disappointing. So away and scheduling don’t work…why is this part of the app? Consumer buy products based upon reliability of the product…this is false advertising and misleading to the consumers. Fix the functions or remove them! Oh…telling me to call support is meaningless when you are 8000 miles away! The canned replies you put in postings is a joke…one fits all doesn’t work in today’s world. Many of us travel..why do you think we bought a smart water heater? It’s just a dumb unit if the advertised functionality is non existent! Fix what you promised!

  • App is garbage

    New Rheem AC and Furnace that were installed work great but I have tried to connect this smart thermostat to this poorly made app over 30 times today and still can’t get it to connect to my Wi-Fi with out the app lagging out the connection. Both econet and the Rheem econet app are both equally poorly made and need major improvements… rather go back to my nest thermostat

  • Won’t Connect to Router

    Spent nearly an hour trying to connect the water heater to my main network. No help from the app as to what the problem might be. None of the other devices in the house have had a problem. This app is not ready for prime time.

  • Ok app

    I use this to turn off the loud compressor at night. For this reason it works fine. In the rewrite, please get rid of that super annoying red ball animation when the app opens. Aargh. The rest of the app is ok, not super intuitive in how to connect to home WiFi.

    Horrible app won't connect to thermostat even though I have a jet engine of a internet connection. Rhem produces a great furnace but frustrating I can't utilize all of its services especially when it was a selling feature. I'll need a water heater soon please don't have me look somewhere else.

  • Need schedule improvements

    Pretty good overall. Could you please add an ability to change the heat pump water heater operating mode in the schedule without changing the temperature? I have it running at 150F, and you can set it only through the control panel. If I use the schedule I’d be limited to 140F.

  • The software has bugs in scheduling

    I have set a schedule. Usually the hybrid Rheam water heater I have followed the schedule for 10-20 days, then the unit somehow was turned off. I have to manually set in the app to follow the schedule again. Very random turned off every 10-20 days. Annoying

  • Rheem app is junk

    The app is very temperamental and only intermittently works. Reinstalling it usually fixes the issue for a short time. The vacation schedule doesn’t work at all. Can’t even save the dates. Scheduling once saved seems to work ok, but then will not change without an app reinstall. FIX THE APP!

  • Please Update This!

    I like the heater but the app needs a rewrite. Needs 1) delete time wasting intro animation, 2) make it difficult to accidentally turn off the heater, 3) provide more accurate hot water levels (percentages), more detailed usage info/expert mode, 4) ability to import local kWh cost to calculate costs, 5) ability to export xml data.

    A $1600 heater should have a good app!!!

  • Could be much better

    I like being able to monitor energy usage - that function is good.

    What’s really not good is the home/away functionality. When it’s set to home, you have info available - temp, available hot water, compressor status, tank mode, etc. As soon as you put it in away mode, there is no info. What temp does the tank go to in away mode? You can’t tell. If you tap to get more info, it goes back into home mode and starts heating up again, and displays all the info. But then you have to put it back in away mode. Very frustrating.

    It would be great if it had a vacation schedule away mode - set the time and date you’re leaving (usually “now”) and the time and date you’ll be back (eg Sunday night at 6). That way you have hot water when you get home without having to manually turn it on and off (I.e. set it and forget it), yet you still get the energy savings of “away mode.”

    Fix that function and I’ll be much happier with this app.
