  • Unable to update airline membership associated with flight

    I am unable to change the airline membership associated with my flight. It will let me enter in the information in the app and click save - but the information entered does not persist. The screen refreshes and still has the originally associated airline membership type and number. Have tried in the app. Have tried in the website. Same experience in both - the app seems to be pulling the same experience as the website in fact. This has happened for multiple flights now. Possibly caused by booking the flight via a partner airline?

  • Rubbish

    The new app version 4 is buggy .

    Boarding time mirrors the actual check in close time not the estimated boarding time
    The app display check in closed for future itineraries
    Baggage allowances not displaying correctly - refer to ticket
    Also the very useful check in close time has been removed
    Other than cosmetic improvements I fail to see this app as an upgrade

  • Terrible customer service

    Tried to make a seat change on line. They said I had to call. Called to make a seat change. Said it may take an hour. 3 hours later, no response and then they hung up. Why not just take the number and call back like most customer service companies do?
  • Silly app, someone forgot to finish it

    New update October 22, 2022: your app needs a Covid reporting section. For when someone on a flight tests positive you can warn other passengers to be careful. My husband and I caught covid on your non-stop flight from NZ to NY this past Monday October 17, 2022. A woman on that flight coughed and blew her nose non-stop for 17 hours without anyone putting her in a mask or moving her away from people. Then we ended up next to her in the border entry line for TWO HOURS! While she was doubled over hacking up a spleen the entire time. With no mask. Infuriating.
    We have tested positive today, Saturday.

    Old review:
    Why have an app if it doesn’t work like an app? No updates on the gate #, limited ability to properly store info like passport numbers, can’t use the check in feature, no ability to get refunded for double payments on seating or luggage, etc. You fill out all these data inputs and then they don’t work! Aaargh. The only thing this app is good for is to store your basic flight info, and that’s a bit sketchy too. Hey guys, talk to whoever designed Jet Blue app, or American Airlines app, or Delta app, etc.

  • Unusable

    This app is terrible. I tried to book a multi stop trip from Sydney to Auckland, then from Christchurch to Melbourne and it was maddening. Whoever designed this thing should be fired. I’ll just use the web site.
  • Absolute Worst Customer Service Ever

    App is useless. Cannot search for flights booked with mileage. Waited on hold 2 1/2 hours. Never answered. So sad, Air NZ used to be my favorite airline.
  • Useless - does not deal well with foreign bookings

    Forget trying to use this to track your Air NZ bookings made overseas by other carriers. More often than not you cannot add that booking manually in the App. Nor can you manage the booking (eg select seats). Instead you have to make an expensive international call to the Air NZ call center that takes hours for them to answer.

  • Clunky and malfunctioning

    This app is almost useless. On the website it kept telling me to download the app to get flight updates. So I downloaded the app. I put in my booking reference and name. I had to do this three times as it didn’t seem to register, just came up blank each time. Then I got a popup telling me to download the app! But I was already in the app? In any case, it eventually retrieved my booking and told me I could not make any changes online and had to call customer service (which has a 2-hour wait btw). There was nowhere I could see for me to sign up for flight updates. Terrible app.

  • Airpoints and service

    I always fly air new Zealand at least two to three times a year minus the Covid years in which I was unable to fly . I always book premium economy aisle seat and pay for it , my way there from Los Angelo’s to Auckland went fine with no problems , however on my return I was very upset to learn that my seat had been changed from 24j to 27 E
    In the middle
    I have bathroom issues that is why I like aisle seating I asked the gentleman to kindly give me back my original seat however he wouldn’t and made it a big deal and was not the least helpful when I explained my situation he just went on to say the flight was sold out , I was so upset that I didn’t eat or drink anything on the way home so I wouldn’t have to use the bathroom to embarrass myself or other passengers
    I feel he could’ve showed a little compassion and try to help me out and on top of that I still haven’t gotten my airpoints or credit for my flight back to USA , I will be traveling in November and hope that I don’t get that sort of experience again

    Everything you actually need to do or across is hidden, difficult and nothing is listed- history - or manageable. Total corporate site designed for Air New Zealand’s objectives- not yours.
