  • Love easiness of use of the App

I have been using Zocdoc on and off for years. The reason I love it, is I can search for the doctor and specialty I am looking for with the filters and see if my insurance is accepted, plus see if they accept new patients. Most of the time, when you try and do this on your own, you call your insurance company, your insurance tells you to double check with providers. Then the listed providers they provide you with are not accepting new patients. Zocdoc makes it easy to make an appointment. Super convenient and time saving. Today I called Zocdoc to change my name and spoke to Rachel who help make the change.I always recommend Zocdoc to my friends.

  • No confirmation from doctor

I do not recall reading that the app was for virtual appointments only. I didn’t realize it was a virtual appointment until Zoc Doc emailed and confirmed. Also, I scheduled for a “new patient” visit - Zoc Doc confirmed my appointment as an “illness” visit. I received an email from Zoc Doc yesterday that they just sent my appointment time to the doctor for an appointment that is scheduled for today - told me to watch my email for a confirmation from the doctor and instructions on how to join the video. It’s been several days since I scheduled my appointment and I do not have a confirmation of my appointment from the doctor and my appointment is for today. Why did Zoc Doc send my appointment to the doctor the day before the scheduled time when I made the appointment several days ago? I’m wondering if this app even communicates with the doctors offices. I canceled my appointment via the app - if I’m billed for the appointment, I’ll be sure to forward the bill to Zoc Doc!

  • Never accurate information

I have used this app to try and find doctors in my network and book an appointment right through the app, which is what this app was made for and should excel at, but it does not. Four out of five appointments I've tried to make recently have been cancelled by the doctor's office calling me directly and stating that the time slot I booked is not and was never available for booking. I don't know whether it is the fault of the app or user error on the side of the doctors' offices, but it has been very inconvenient for me to constantly change my schedule around, and unhealthy to be waiting so long to see a doctor for a medical issue due to the wild inconsistency on this app. Do not recommend, and will not personally use going forward.

  • Can’t trust it

This app seems like a great idea, but you can’t trust anything from it. I’m sitting here at my first appointment at a new doctor, but two hours early. I got a text that said 4:15 and an email that said 2pm from Zocdoc. I call and they confirm 2pm. I get here at 2 and they say, “no. It’s 4:15.” Now I’m wasting the whole afternoon.
Zocdoc would work if every office had plenty of staff to check everyday that the info patients are getting from the app is accurate. Every time I have scheduled a visit via the app, the appointment is cancelled or changed because the office didn’t set the right hours. It’s hard and scary enough to visit a new strange doctor, I don’t want to make it harder with 500 bogus emails from every party providing bad info.
I’m going to assume that the insurance info doctors provide to Zocdoc is correct, but who knows.

  • The best

Love this app. It’s so great that you can search for doctors based on your need and insurance coverage, and schedule appointments all within the app. And you can track your appointment status to make sure the office approves the appointment as well as fill out your medical history so the office already has the paperwork needed before you get to the office. This really takes the dread out of making doctors appointments and makes it so easy. The app is really innovative in terms of the interface. Love that you can add the appointment right to the calendar in your phone and also track your past appointments to make sure you’re staying on top of your health. I am 100% more likely to use an office that participates in this app than one that doesn’t. Thank you to whoever came up with this!

  • Avoid at All Costs

I rarely write reviews and I am extremely hesitant to project a singular experience of a provider on a marketplace onto an entire app but after several terrible experiences this app feels medically negligent as do the doctors. I’ve been to a orthopedist who erroneously diagnosed me with athletes foot and a bone spur. A dermatologist who postponed the meeting 15 minutes before it starting then wasn’t able to authorize my prescriptions with insurance. Another dermatologist who tried to sell me an egregiously expensive product and then wouldn’t refill the prescriptions I’ve used for years. A primary care physician where a later doctor described her care as “there to get you out the door and irresponsible.” The app shows drs drowning in positive reviews and seems to aggressively bubble compliments to the top. Drs can cancel with almost no notice and way too many agree to treat you online for conditions that they definitely should ask you to come in for. For all its glitz and polish, zocdoc pushes a last minute “in and out” approach to doctors that results in inferior care with professionals who are not significantly vetted or held accountable. Just call a dr to get quality care and never use this app - it is not worth it.

  • Poorly made App

This app is poorly made. How do you advertise yourself as an app to find doctors that take your insurance, without having to call every single one of them. But have a lack of doctors within people’s location, and I’m not the only one the countless number of one star reviews are an understatement of how bad this app is. And some of these doctors aren’t even professionals you would go to for certain appointments. Like why would I go to a nurse who specializes in Pap smears, I want a gynecologist not a nurse. You lack the resources to each run this app. If you can’t have every doctor that can we can google on your app then it’s pointless. Stop falsely marketing yourself to consumers who literally went out their way to try your app but found it more frustrating than calling every doctor in the area to see if they take our insurance. I even thought it would make it easier than calling your insurance company but eeerrrr nope it’s pointless. This app isn’t what it’s made out to be, respectfully.

  • Great Idea but did not help

Tried to locate a chiropractor. The spp provided fmily foctors or internist within my network. All the chiropractors provided were out of network. Then I tried to locate a imaging group to arrange a mammogram and got ob gyns. I already have a primary care physician. It did not provide caregivers that my insurance would accept and pay for. Search needs better filters. Why not incl Medicare as a option? Or Medicaide for low income patients? Are they Accepting new patients? Why suggest only primary care physicians that are covered in the network not give any specialists or additional provider types that would be covered as options for the customer?? You get specific on insurance plans but not on providers.

  • Not sure info is up to date…

I am a dermatologist in Iowa. I put in my office address and 30 day away appointment time as a search. The recommended provider who was the only ‘hit’ was a nurse practitioner herbalist who did not seem to practice Dermatology. The rest of the results were grayed out below that one. I was not even listed in the results although I have practiced in this area since 1997. My ex-partner, who retired last summer was still listed as a provider in our office. One dermatologist who popped up is still listed as practicing in Ames, IA and she hasn’t worked there in over a year and is actually in a new office close to the location I listed. One dermatologist listed is actually a dermatopathologist who does not see patients. If there is a way for providers to update their info, let me know and i’d be glad to help the developers update the database. As it is now…needs work.

  • Disappointed with this app with making appointments.

Twice now I have used this app to make appointments only to be told at the last minute that I will not be seen.
The first reason was that I needed a referral, which was not specified on ZODOC site.
The second time I was called a few hours to the appointment that they do not accept my insurance. In the case of the second instance, the office had been bombarding g me with reminders for the appointment that I wondered why it took than so long to find out.
In both cases, I had added my insurance information and in both cases they offices made a comment like “ oh, you made the appointment at ZODOC”. This tells me that ZODOC does not do its job of filtering insurances accepted by these offices in their app.
This is not good. While I had referred others to ZODOC in the past, I do t think I will do so again based on these two experiences.
