  • Used to love service, but customer support is waning

    One of the main features of this service is automated bank feeds, but unfortunately their vendor Yodlee is terrible and does not follow up on issues. Xero does not either to be honest. I have requested updates multiple times over a month and their responses are disingenuous. No one is really trying to get my issue fixed. Very frustrated, especially as I have brought them many customers. No more!

    It's not great to see this and I'm sorry your experience with bank feeds and our support team are letting you down :( Yodlee issues in particular can be time consuming to resolve as we need to work with their team as best we can to support them investigating and fixing issues, which typically come down to an individual bank.   • Great software. Below average app

    I quite enjoy the software itself...on a desktop computer. Unless I'm missing something, the app lacks one of the most basic needs of a business owner--basic financial reports. I see no way to view an income statement, cash flow report, etc on the app. Desktop, no problem. App needs work. This seems almost unforgivable to be missing from a mature company like xero.

  • Lacks the most basic functionality

    Yeah you don’t get it. Okay.

    Lacks basic functionality. Example: For 10 months it has failed to learn that payments to Amex are credit card payments. It therefore makes me manually categorise these transfers between my Xero accounts every time. Repeat that for 100 other recurring transactions that it fails to learn from. I don’t use the website and rules can’t even be manually set on the app to workaround this lack of basic learning abilities. Very very poor. Wish I’d never switched.

  • Can’t do basic accounting

    App is not useful at all if you need to perform accounting functions. GL details? Financial statements? No. Great for the non-accountants.
  • Not quite good enough for the price

    It is overpriced for what it does.
    Doesn’t sync well with bank accounts.
    Customer service is mediocre at best. You need to go through a chat to engage with them. One would think that an app that manages all your expanses and bank accounts you could contact CS more easily but no…

    Hidden fees when canceling.
    They charge you an extra month but you don’t get to use it all. For example I canceled on november the 29th and was billed on December the 1st a period until January First but I could only use it up to December the 29th because I had canceled on that day in November. Even though I was billed until January the 1st.

Our support team are available when you're logged into the app - initially we serve up answers to your question as you type to get you help as quickly as possible but then onto our support team. I'm not sure if you signed up via Apple or directly with us to comment on your cancellation experience.   • Could be better

    I use Xero for all my accounting and find it really good on the desktops, but this app has a lot be desired, it could be so much better with some very simple tweaks. I find it incredibly frustrating that when I need to find a quote or an invoice I have to scroll through all my quotes by date, it would be so much easier to use if had a few search options. An lad when I search for a contact and find them, it doesn’t show related invoices.

    Baring in mind how good the desktop version is, this app needs improvement.

It's comments like this that help us continue to improve the app. However, for the examples you've given here: The search function is there, admittedly perhaps not so intuitive - it's right at the top of the screen, you just have to pull down to reveal it and we'll revisit this. The related invoices should definitely show on a contact summary screen - our team want to take a closer look at what you're seeing to figure out why you're not.   • Hasn’t changed in 7 years

    This app is lacking in so many ways.

    Want to send your customer a receipt?
    Nope.

    Want to void and invoice, say for example you need to combine two?

    Nope.

    Want to copy and paste a phone number or anything else about your client without going into edit mode?

    Nope.

    For a mobile bookkeeping app, these are all kinda essential and imo, basic.

    I’ll stop at that…but I could go on.

  • Too busy to solve the problems it generates

    Sounds good, but even my small business with what I assume would be simple accounting still has the numbers all messed up. Linked to my business account and I reconcile all transactions, but I still get different numbers between the actual bank balance and the two Xero balances. There is no tech support to call and walk through the issues. As a business I am told I need this, but I don’t know why I pay for it. I can’t even find time to solve the problems it causes. In the end I will likely end up paying someone else to handle it. In my industry we call that double handling. Not an efficient way to work.

    Thanks for feedback. The 'good' news is that there are a few reasons why the balance in Xero and your bank balance might not match. You can go through the troubleshooting steps here yourself > https://central.xero.com/s/article/Why-are-the-statement-balance-and-balance-in-Xero-different There could also be an issue with your Xero 'conversion' (or starting) balance if you've had this problem the entire time you've used Xero.   • Seven Years… time to go

    Struggle to give this application three stars. If the mobile app was better, sure I would. If the customer support was better, we’d probably be talking five stars. I’m giving an overall rating of two stars because after being a customer for seven years, never having a problem with my bank feed, it’s stopped working in June. It’s October and their team still says “we’re working on it“ – ?? That’s all you’ve got for me? When you can have an automated bank feed and set up bank rules that essentially do reconciliation for you, that’s extremely valuable. But when it’s not working… Forget about it. Good luck – make sure you do a lot of research and trial all of your bank connections very carefully and make sure everything‘s working well before you proceed with this subscription.
